Niji was going to say something to Juliet when a girl passed as she looked upset, but they thought better of it to not upset her.

"Bye! Thanks again Juliet! See ya later!" He said waving before walking off to the armory.
Niji tried to walk into the armory, but the door was stuck making Niji run face first into it. Niji laughed a little and forced the door open stumbling a little.

"Oh, uh, hey you're an Ares camper right?" Niji asked the girl that had bumped into them. Niji walked over to a table looking at the weapons.
He wasn't sure how he would know which one would be a good fit for him. As Niji looked he gave the Ares camper a wide girth. The girl gave Niji an unsettling feeling almost an aura of anger was around her. Niji sighed before settling on a crossbow, a quiver of arrows, and a garrote wire.

"sa'ahtaj 'iilaa jael hdha al'amr." Niji said to himself.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Big House|tags:Chuck
Jamie started to follow when he remembered how icy the steps had been on their way up, and by looks of it, Chuck didn’t remember. He opened his mouth to say something when the satyr slipped, landing in and uncomfortable looking split. His eyes widened and he cringed at the clearly painful position. Chuck seemed to be alright though, and Jamie had to stifle a laugh as his head popped up out of the snow. “Right,” He said. “And it clearly does. Man, what would science do with you?” He smiled, offering a hand to help the satyr up. He just felt lucky it hadn’t been him that had slipped and landed in the snow, but knowing himself, it was only a matter of time before that inevitably happened.

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Camp, Tags: Kenna

Skylar nodded as Kenna spoke about just carrying on normally. That probably would be best for them, but she had to finish the spells and help figure the questers. She thought about how Chiron would bring this up without scaring the newbies. Hank nodded at them and left to go find his dog, suddenly. Did she somehow scare him off? No, he probably just wanted to figure out the snow thing for himself. Skylar turned to Kenna. "Well, I have to find the other questers before it is announced so Chiron can also announce who is going. Want to come with? You are definitely a part of this quest. Or you can prepare."

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|She/her|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Niji

Aggy nearly startled at the boy's appearance, having almost fallen asleep to the chatter of the weapons. She eyed him, then pulled out the now soaked stone and set to work on her blade. She still couldn't find his weak spot, and it was putting her on edge not to be in control. She looked back up when he spoke, and laughed humorlessly at his assumption that she was an Ares kid. "Nah, just as unclaimed as the rest of Cabin 11," She said, more to herself than to him as she set to work.

She looked up when he spoke again, wrinkling her nose at his choice of weapons. She put her sword down and stepped closer, then scoffed incredulously. "You know how to use that?" She asked, reaching out a hand to brush a finger along the bow reverently. This thing is made to kill, she thought, frowning. Her eyes widened when they landed on the garrote wire. "Uh, there's a rule against killing or maiming," She said, looking them in the eye with more confidence than she felt right now. For looking like cotton candy, this dude had a bloodthirst.

Ophelia Rogers|She/her|Aphrodite|Location: Cabin 10|tags:Pippa, Mira

Ophelia tried not to scoff at Pippa's question. Really, she did. It was just hard not to when they only ones who stayed were those lucky enough to not have a home. She bit it off half way, and her face clouded over. I could've been like her, once.
Mira exchanged an awfully longing look at the Hermes girl, and something in Ophelia's head clicked. Oh...not what I was expecting. Does she really think we'd care about that? At Camp Half-Blood. Sis, we're trying to die every week, your love life is the least of our concerns... Honestly, at this point it was just exhausting.

"Either you want me to run her through for you, or you need to talk to your friend and get over an argument." She said to Mira, careful not to push too far by stressing the friend part of the sentence. "You can decide over lunch," She added, pushing on through the snow with a renewed gusto. Her stomach was beginning to remind her that breakfast was a faint memory, and Ophelia didn't want to get too snappish. She knew she was bordering on it, but she really was hungry.

Henry "Hank" Walker|He/him|Apollo|Location: --->Dining Pavilion|tags: Kenna, Sky--->open

For his part, Hank was practically gnawing on the inside of his cheek to keep from bursting out with a jest, or bolting. Standing still for so long was killing him, especially with the tension about the quest. And, well, the accident.
"Yeah, good idea," He said in response to Kenna's thought, finally looking back up at the girls. "I should probably find Izzy, and make sure she isn't pestering any newbies," He said, giving a curt nod and starting to shuffle through the snow. It had completely slipped his mind to keep her on hand, and he didn't want to imagine the talking to he would get if Izzy was caught wrecking havoc.

"Sorry didn't mean to scare you." Niji said quietly.

She seemed concentrated on something, so they decided that it was best to keep his voice low.

"I didn't mean to upset you with assuming your parent."
Niji looked her in the eyes. "I'm not your enemy you know."

Niji laughed and nodded "of course I know how to use one of these. Scares people too. The garrote wire is more for subduing anyone that gets too close."

Niji grinned at her. "Don't worry Mr. Chiron already told me all about the no killing and maiming rule. You know that's the second person that's said that do I really look that scary? I mean I know I'm Arabian, but geez." Niji laughed hoping she didn't think they were being serious about his 'scary' heritage.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|She/her|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Niji

Aggy rolled her eyes at their suggestion that he was scary. "Any fear factor you might've had, you've just lost," She informed them, stepping back over to continue sharpening her blade. "A wire like that can only be used on humans, you'd be dead if you let a monster get close enough to use it," She added, not looking up as she worked.
"You have no mid-range weapon, no shield, and no armour," She said, running the whetstone along her blade. She stopped at the end of a stroke and looked back up at him. "What would you do if I came at you witn this sword, try to Indiana Jones me with something that isn't even a whip?" She asked, a smile spreading across her face as she tried to picture it.
After today's excitement, she felt back in control among the weapons. It was a comforting thought.

Niji laughed. "No I wouldn't Indiana Jones you. I'd do this."
With a small flick of their wrist Niji had the wire wrapped around the blade of the sword and pulled it out of her hands making the blade clang against the wall.

"Sorry. Mhmm gotta love that sound." Niji gave Agatha a weird look. "This is imperial gold you can tell by the way light shines on it, it kinda has a rainbow-y sheen to it kinda like an opal under the gold. Besides I've already tried to use mid-range weapons and I'm very, very bad. Like will absolutely ruin everything type of bad."
Niji gave a small laugh. "Besides I'm used to being calvary anyways. Guess I'm a little too trained with it." They said rubbing his neck.

"Why are you convinced that I and everyone else is your enemy? What's so wrong that you can't trust a single creature? And what makes you think you're in control?" Niji asked reading her emotions as if she was telling him.

Hank's sudden desire to get up and leave was rather surprising to Kenna, considering the fact that he had seemed a bit eager to get more answers in the first place. She had a feeling his Izzy comment was nothing more than a weak excuse, but decided not to comment on it. If he wanted to go, there was no stopping him. So she gave a light shrug, lifting her hand, which was surprisingly still warm, to give a semi-weak wave in his direction. However, he had already turned away, and the chances of him seeing her wave were most likely rather slim.

"Good idea," she agreed. Though it was definitely both more significant and more convenient to get people to step up and confess during their later official meeting, scoping out some and gently putting it out there wouldn't hurt. It wasn't like Kenna personally had anything better to do. A new thought struck her a moment later, and she frowned. "It's weird," she mused aloud. "I'm not even sure my powers would work against snow and ice. I wonder if this is just setting me up for failure." Though the last sentence was said in a lighter tone, it was genuine, deep inside. It would definitely be concerning if she was left nearly defenseless.

Things had gotten very awkward very quickly. The energy had died off, either because they were losing interest in Pippa or because she had hit a nerve. She wasn't stupid, she could tell Mirabelle was doing her best to keep her smile and remain friendly. She noticed it even more so when she cheerily waved to someone in the distance. Ophelia had given up trying. Her gaze had hardened and she lacked a smile.

They absolutely hate me.

That churned her stomach again, and Pippa awkwardly glanced down at her chilly hands, twiddling her fingers in a weak attempt to pass the time. She had definitely ruined the atmosphere. Chuck and Hank in particular had been so cheery in her presence! She appreciated the girls' attempts, but it wasn't the same. Things felt fake. She murmured a small, "That's fun," in response to Mira's answer, though it had lacked the excitement that had lingered earlier in her tone. She forced her gaze on the newly snow-coated ground, trying hard to avoid eavesdropping over the murmurs the girls shared. Maybe they'd just drop her off when they were done eating and continue doing her thing. As much as Pippa wanted to get to know her half-siblings, she'd begun to sense they weren't too thrilled to see her, and she wasn't exactly willing to deal with the tension she was feeling for too, too long. She remained quiet regardless, physically biting her tongue to resist saying any more. She didn't want to get on their nerves any more than she supposedly already had. Maybe she could find Chuck or Hank later.

Although Samuel and Auggie were considered semi-decent friends, Sam knew as well as anyone else at the camp- and probably anyone who knew her, really- just how unpredictable Auggie really was. The side Samuel usually showed towards younger beings often emerged around Auggie, showing his slightly more vulnerable side (or at least more caring), but it didn't mean she would always return it. So admittedly, he was a bit surprised when she stopped to admit what was bothering her.

He had to fight the urge to smile. He forced his lips into a frown, but the corners still ended up tilting up towards his eyes, and he pressed them together to resist showing his humour. "Casual," he returned. "No biggie or anything else." Now that she said it, he had recalled seeing her rush off into the forest with some shorter girl. Their backs had been towards Samuel so although he recognized Auggie, he hadn't a clue who the other was. "Are they at least okay?" He figured adding sympathy would reduce the possibility of making her feel even worse, even though she too was fighting a smile.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Near Dining Pavilion|Tags: Pippa, Ophelia|

Mirabelle internally flinched at Ophelia's words, though outwardly she simply blinked and nodded ever so slightly. She sincerely hoped Ophelia hadn't figured out her secret - sure, Camp Half-Blood was accepting and all, but Mirabelle had been raised in a rather homophobic environment. Her father seemed okay with it in general, but the rest of his family... She chewed on the inside of her cheek at that thought. Guilt squirmed in her stomach, both at the memory of her father and the situation with Juliet. Things hadn't exactly ended well between them. She was surprised that Juliet would still even talk to her after the big blow-up fight that had ended things for good.
She sighed a barely perceptible sigh as she brought herself back to the present. Noting Pippa's rather anxious behaviour, concern sparkled in her grey-blue eyes. "Hey," she said softly, slowing her pace as they neared the pavilion. "Are you doing okay? Sorry I've been... kind of out of it. I'm usually a lot more cheerful, it's just... with the prophecy and everything happening, I've got a lot on my mind." The admission left her feeling mildly vulnerable, but she covered it up with a comforting smile.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Outside Cabin 11|Tags: Niji --> Open|

As Juliet waved goodbye the new kid, she realised she hadn't caught their name. Oh well, she shrugged, turning back to her ferret. He was starting to look a little cold, so she scooped him up and carried him back inside. When he was out of his leash and safely snuggled into his hammock in his enclosure, she walked back outside. With her pranking plans put on hold, Juliet wasn't exactly sure what to do. She stood on the steps of Cabin 11 to think for a brief moment.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Outside Big House|Tags: Jamie|

"Like, thanks, man," Chuck smiled, taking Jamie's outstretched hand. He let the other boy help him up, dusting the snow off of his recently acquired cargo pants. "I'm like, a treasure to the scientific community, you know?" he joked as he started to walk towards the forest. He figured they could stick to the less terrifying parts; near where the satyrs and dryads typically lived. His freckled face grew pensive for a moment as he thought back to their previous conversation with Chiron. "Like, you gonna talk to Mira or someone later, or were you just yankin' Chiron's chain?" he asked gently.

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Peak of Mount Marcy/Blizzard Dreamscape|Tags: Aydan|

The ability to control ice... Vivienne's gaze sharpened with interest. Perhaps that's why he feels oddly familiar... could he be another demigod of Khione? The thought seemed ludicrous. Certainly her mother would've told her if she'd had any godly half-siblings... right? Her mouth tightened into a thin line. I'll have to bring it up with her as soon as I awaken, she decided. "There is much one can do with ice," she stated instead. She neglected to show him what she meant - that would be a dead giveaway of her identity. Though she had manipulated the dream blizzard around them earlier... Still. She decided she was better safe than sorry in this situation. Speaking of awakening... she felt her grasp on the dream begin to slip.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|She/her|Unknown (Ares)|Location: Armoury|tags: Niji

Her good (if it could be called that) mood was instantly ruined when her blade was taken. She hadn't found their sore spot, but they'd found hers. She retrieved it, quickly standing back up before growling at them. "Try that again, Indy, and say goodbye to a finger!"

She stalked back to the whetstone, practically shaking with anger. She ran a hand over the flat part of the blade, as if to comfort herself with the smooth metal.

She set her blade back down to work on it, but they weren't done talking. Oh gods, do they have an off button? She wondered, her strokes growing swift and choppy. She worked quickly, ready to be gone already.

She glanced up only briefly, and flashed them a glare. "Nothing comes for free." She said, less venom in the words than she would've liked. She tapped the scar on her cheek for emphasis, then ignored him, saving her fire for the up for capture the flag.

Ophelia Rogers|She/her|Aphrodite|Location: Near Dining Pavilion|tags:Pippa, Mira

For her part, Ophelia was feeling... Not so great. The new girl was stirring up memories of her younger self, of staying up to hang out with her father after a late shift, of schoolyard friendships, and the one time she'd gotten to meet her half sisters (on the mortal side). She hadn't known any better then, hadn't been ashamed for existing. She blinked hard, and focused on the glittering snow.

When that didn't work she added "Sorry but I'm really cold," And ducked her head in apology before lengthening her strides so the others couldn't see her tears. Gods, why do I have to be so weak? She wondered, grateful for the frigid air that would cover up a sniffly nose. She'd mastered crying quietly years ago.

Once she reached the pavilion, she clawed at her face with a sleeve, as if she was just trying to warm it up rather than wipe the dampness away. Then she turned and waved at the other two, a little too enthusiastically. Please believe me, she thought, pasting on a smile.
