I read the books a crud ton and despite having not seen the musicals I took most of his character based on both the books and the musicals.
A couple of his lines are (not verbatim) from the musical and honestly it does it so well in crafting Dionysis that I had to do it. I dont see him as mean tho. He's grouchy and standoffish, but think about what he's seen. He's seen his kids, kids he mentored, trained, loved go off to battle and never return, so while he is standoffish and grouchy he isn't rude because he's scared. He's scared to love these children and loose them and in turn loose a part of himself a part of his heart and the reason he exists and it scares him. So he is standoffish, grouchy, at times a jerk, he gets their name wrong in order to hear their protest; their voice just one more time before its too late.
The only thing I didn't do is have him crack open a diet coke. I should have
Can you tell he's my favorite?

That's a good interpretation but there's musicals?
I probably already knew this but it has literally been almost three years since I read anything Riordan related lmao
Out of curiosity though, what is everyone else's favorite of the gods? Either in general or to write for? I personally enjoy writing for Thanatos, but a lot of his interpretation comes from the Book Thief personality wise
