Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location:Lake|tags: Auggie
Aggy shook her head violently at Auggie's claim, though the rest of her body seemed to follow. That was very Not Good, but at least she had the blade back, she tucked it back into her shorts, which were quickly stiffening. "Jewelweed said y'all have a thieving prolem." She said, as if that cleared anything up. Her balance was off, but for now she was losing feeling. She dreaded having to regain it on her surely aching limbs, but to lose one would be worse.
"Yeah, my stuff's at Cabin 11, but I think a hot shower will do the most good. " She wrinkled her nose, not liking how the water dripped down from her short hair.

Ophelia Rogers|Female|Aphrodite|Location: Cabin 10|tags:Pippa, Mira
Ophelia offered a smile to the others and closed the door, but left the talking to Mira, who seemed to have it covered. She wanted to ask the new girl's name, but she figured it would come out soon enough. Instead, she surveyed the room, locating the bed the caramel-girl had chosen and making a mental note of it.

She strode to her own bed and rummaged through the compartments under it before locating her winter trunk, which she tugged out and opened to find her battered blue ski coat. She sighed at the comforting sight. Although it didn't technically fit her anymore and had been ripped and repaired enough times to be crisscrossed with stitches and patches, she thought of it like a dear old friend. She ran a hand over it gently, trying to feel for any weak spots she'd need to work on, then set about on a search for leggings to layer under her jeans. This turned out to be a much more difficult task, and she was practically buried in clothes she had stacked on top of them before she located a pair.

Henry "Hank" Walker|Male|Apollo|Location: ----> Dining Pavilion |tags: Kenna
"A warming spell would be great!" Hank said, letting the glow fade from his hand. After all, it was only polite to focus on his friend. "Do you have a favorite snow activity?" He asked, gesturing a hand at the whiteness they were currently trudging through. Then he was struck by a thought, and spoke without leaving time for Sky to answer the first question. "So as a head counselor and all, do you know what's going on with the weather?" He searched her face, hoping to find a better answer, a more hopeful answer, than the idea he'd stumbled upon earlier.

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|the woods-the lake|tags:Aggy
August rolled her eyes again at the mention of a thieving problem. She’s gonna have a freezing problem in a minute if we don’t hurry up. She thought, though she didn’t express this out loud. She walked close to Aggy, as the girl seemed a little unsteady on her feet and she wanted to be able to catch her if she fell so she wouldn’t end up in the snow. Auggie nodded in agreement at the girls words. “Alright, you do that and I’ll go find you something dry to wear.” She offered. Normally she wouldn’t have been this generous, but she felt guilty for causing this whole predicament when the camp clearly had other things to worry about, and she was hoping she could prevent anyone else from finding out about her little prank.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Camp|tags:Chuck
Jamie perked up slightly at Chuck’s response. Although the satyr wasn’t a convincing liar, he was ready to believe what he wanted to hear was true. His smile quickly faded, his face creasing in concern at Chuck’s words. “Yeah, but...it can’t always be that, right?” He asked desperately. “I mean, I’d be the last person to have anything to do with a quest. What am I gonna do if I meet a monster, talk about 2000’s pop punk and drawing techniques until they get so bored they just leave?” He joked, though there wasn’t a hint of humour in his voice. A feeling of dread was starting to grow inside of him and it showed plainly on his face. Truthfully, Jamie wasn’t bad with his celestial bronze knife. When he first came to camp half blood, he had been determined to learn how to use a weapon and learn it well, then he had practiced relentlessly—more out of paranoia than anything else. He did his best to avoid using his knife at all costs, but he did know how to use it, just to be safe. He’d tried using the blade to mix paint once, but then realized that may be offensive to his godly mother and had quickly cleaned it off. “Maybe we shouldn’t bring that up to Chiron.” He suggested. “I’m sure he’s got enough to worry about and my dreams were probably nothing.”

if only i could keep you in my pocket
to give me some diagnosis of why i'm so hollow
please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Aiden 006

Postby Kveykva » Mon Dec 14, 2020 2:49 pm

    ──── Aiden Seaver
    】| Athena Head Counselor | 15 | Male | Armory | Tags: Juliet Pratten
𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚐𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚞𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚕 𝚒𝚝 𝚑𝚞𝚛𝚝𝚜
"I wasn't insulting the prank!" Aiden snapped. "I just meant that I wouldn't want them to have their night ruined over something silly." He explained, irked that she went off on him so quickly. They'd hardly been talking for five minutes. Juliet unwisely avoided answering his question but insisted that her prank, whatever it may be, would only affect the Ares campers. Aiden was inclined to believe her since everyone knew the Ares cabin were some of the best pranking targets around. At least, that was something the two of them did agree on. At least it's not Chuck again, bless his heart. He thought. "Right, 'cause you guys can't take a loss without getting petty about it." The head counselor sniped, now in the mood to mess with Juliet just a little bit after she'd overreacted so much.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Cabin 10|Tags: Pippa|

"Not at all," Mirabelle assured her with a friendly smile. She glanced over at Ophelia, nodding to acknowledge the other girl's presence. She turned back to the new girl, meeting her stunningly blue eyes. "I'm Mirabelle, head counselor of the Aphrodite cabin." She gestured around them for emphasis before holding out a cold yet well-manicured hand in the caramel-haired girl's direction. "Seeing as you're new here, have you been claimed yet?" Judging by the fact that she was standing in Cabin 10, Mirabelle could guess that she had already been claimed - however, it was still good to ask. She didn't want to make any unfair assumptions, after all.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Armoury|Tags: Aiden |

"Whoa, dude, I didn't mean to come off snippy or anything," Juliet laughed nervously, attempting to smooth the situation over. She knew she could come off as aggressive sometimes, but she'd meant it in a humorous sense. "Sorry if I did. It's been kind of a day." A more cross look came over her face when he insulted her cabin, but she quickly set the anger aside. It would do no good to argue with the Athena head counselor, despite how much fun it could've possibly been. "Anyways... you should probably go get some lunch. You're acting a little... cranky." She debated the last part, but it slipped out nonetheless. Gods, Juliet, think before you speak, she mentally berated herself. She offered a smile Aiden's way, hoping that it would indicate that she meant no harm.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Outside Big House|Tags: Jamie|

Chuck picked himself up off of the ground, dusting the snow off of his furry legs. "Like, sure man, whatever you say," the satyr assented. "But there are, like, other skills needed on quests, you know?" He turned to Jaime with a warm smile; genuinely meaning the words he said. "Like, it's not all fighting all the time," he offered. "Sometimes talking is like, a good thing. Plus, like, at the least, you could make a pretty bomb distraction." He laughed a little afterwards, indicating that he'd been joking. At least, partially joking. Chuck returned his attention to the icy staircase, doubling his efforts to be careful as he ascended the steps. Once atop the porch, the satyr swung open the Big House door and gestured for Jamie to enter.

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Peak of Mount Marcy/Blizzard Dreamscape|Tags: Aydan|

Vivienne did not miss the tears that escaped Ayden's eyes. It seems I've hit a sore spot, she realised. Her icy gaze narrowed with curiosity as her focus only intensified. How very interesting. She suddenly realised that in a typical society, she would have been expected to... comfort the boy in some form. Her insides squirmed at this thought. She honestly had no idea where even to begin with something like that. Her posture stiffened slightly as she frantically tried to think of a way to stop... whatever this was that was happening. "There are... other ways of gaining the attention of your godly parent," she attempted, albeit awkwardly. "Certain gods and goddesses are attracted to prowess in battle, for example. Others are not as violently inclined - a display of high academic achievement or gardening skills can even be enough to incite a claiming on occasion."

Aydan Hunt Location: Hermes cabin Tags: Vivienne

He simply nodded at her suggestions, maybe those things would work. She seemed to grow a bit awkward at him crying "I don't need you to console me, I'm fine." he told her even though he knew deep down that probably wasn't true. He thought about what she said a bit longer, maybe he could try doing something remarkable during their game of capture the flag...if that was even still happening. "I have the ability to manipulate ice, though my control of it is very limited." he told her still being bitterly emotionless. He kicked at the snow under his feet, maybe he could control snow if he tried. It'd be a lot safer than ice.

Kade Turner | Athena | Tagging: Pippa | Location: Camp

Kade dipped his head and slipped away, leaving Pippa to get acquainted with her newfound siblings and campers, and he himself headed for the dining hall. Maybe Hunter or Hank would be hanging about somewhere. He shivered against the snow. Either it was some freak of nature, or someone was pulling a very effective, very odd prank, and he didn’t know of anyone who could pull off something like THAT.

Karter Zael | Hades | Tagging: Emerson | Location: Camp, Dining Hall

Once Valkeri had wandered off, unable to share tables with someone from another cabin, Karter had meant to go find his place at the Hades table, more than likely alone, but he’d never minded lonesomeness. Big social gatherings were never his thing anyway. However, a girl had quickly approached him. His head snapped up at the sound of a voice. "H-Huh? Oh...nah, haven’t eaten yet. Just arrived," he admitted. Then she was holding out a muffin to him. She’d probably grabbed that for herself. After capture-the-flag snack or something. So he offered a small smile and pushed it back toward her. "You might need that at some point. There’s plenty to go 'round," he promised.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Camp|tags:Chuck
Jamie smiled appreciatively at Chucks words. “Yeah, I guess,” He conceded, though he still didn’t like the idea of leaving the safety of camp or being part of a quest. Although, he thought, if snow was breaking through the protective barrier around camp, who knows what else could sneak its way through. He burst out laughing at satyrs joke. “Oh yeah,” He said, swooping a hand through his messy hair with a goofy grin. “I’m am known for distracting beings of all kinds with my rugged good looks.” He raised one eyebrow and winked, clearly not meaning a word of what he said. Jamie followed Chuck up the steps carefully, doing his best not to slip and staying alert at the same time in case the satyr’s hooves slipped again. He stepped through the door into the Big House, silently hoping they wouldn’t run into Chiron or anyone else who might have thoughts on his weird dreams.

    Ben Asher
    18, He/Him
    Hephaestus
    Forge
    @Open
Turning on the overhead light, Ben started to bring the forging space back to life. He quickly made his way past workbenches, anvil stations, and various machines to the closed oven. Lifting a small window revealing the glowing hot belly of nestled coals. Using a special shovel, he shifted some of the embers around to use at a forging station. Adding some wood chips and few bellow pumps, he set the coal to cook and develop a unified heat source.
Lifting his hard leather apron off the hook, he slipped it over his head and belted it into place. Retrieving his tools off his work bench, Ben set up an anvil station so he could form and shape a blade. It was all second-nature to him, being in the smithy; the weight of his well used hammers and tongs in his callused hands; the numerous colors of heat and stages of steel.

The muscles along his back and shoulders rolled and coiled with each swing and hammer blow. Sweat was beading and dripping along his brow and between his shoulder blades. The work was rhythmic and controlled, harsh and demanding. 7, 8, 9, Ben counted along with the pounding; a last strike and he nestled the short billet back into the heat. Taking a moment to wipe his forehead with a towel and grab a swig of water, his grey gaze settled on the bright furnace, watching the metal heat up. Working for several years in the shop, he'd gotten to know how to assess the varying temperatures of metals, as well as how to maintain and work with the fire to coax the best quality for each. Being a son of Hephaestus, he'd also been gifted the skill to know exact temperatures of most things, which was really useful when making things, and with the occasional outbreak of the flu, he'd been pressed into service as a human temperature gauge - oh. the. joys.
Ben had successfully created a layered damascus billet and was now drawing it out to create a blade shape. It'd taken many cycles of heating, hammering, and folding to create the patterned affect in the metal - once shaped and sanded, it would be a pretty, durable, and useful weapon.
This was what he was meant to do, forge, build, create. It was where he was comfortable, content. In the heat, using his body to shape blades. The physical demands of hammer blows; the delicate ballet of shifting hot metal in hotter coals; dancing on the line of luck and skill - as one small deviation or slight failure in the welding, and the blade is rendered useless besides wall décor.
Returning the lump of crafted steel to the anvil, Ben picked up his hammer and began giving it shape with mighty swings.

Chuck bleated out a laugh at Jamie's joke, following him into the Big House. He immediately noticed that a folding table had been put out, piled high with various winter clothing items. "Like, it looks like a winter goods store just upchucked all over the place," he remarked with a slight chuckle. He sifted through some of the clothing, putting a decent amount of it to the side; discarded. A pair of mittens that looked as if they had been cut from an afghan rug joined the discard pile, but not before Chuck stuck them over his horns and made a goofy face at Jamie.

The ability to control ice... Vivienne's gaze sharpened with interest. Perhaps that's why he feels oddly familiar... could he be another demigod of Khione? The thought seemed ludicrous. Certainly her mother would've told her if she'd had any godly half-siblings... right? Her mouth tightened into a thin line. I'll have to bring it up with her as soon as I awaken, she decided. "There is much one can do with ice," she stated instead. She neglected to show him what she meant - that would be a dead giveaway of her identity. Though she had manipulated the dream blizzard around them earlier... Still. She decided she was better safe than sorry in this situation. Speaking of awakening... she felt her grasp on the dream begin to slip.
