|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Big House Porch |Tags: Ben|

Mirabelle blinked as Ben's words echoed in her mind. There's always a fire burning, even when you can't see it. She felt her scattered thoughts begin to settle with those deep words. In both senses of the phrase - metaphorical and physical - it provided a warm sense of comfort. A small yet genuine smile tugged at her lips, though responsibility still weighed heavily on her shoulders. "I should probably get back to my cabin and grab my coat," she ventured. "I need to make sure they're well-stocked with winter attire, and ask around to see if anyone has had any dreams pertaining to the cold weather - especially any that give a recognisable location. We still have no idea where we need to go." Though her gaze had become distant with thought as she spoke, her blue-grey eyes suddenly filled with sharp focus. "Ben," she stated, turning to look the son of Hephaestus straight in the face. "Thank you." Sincerity filled her voice. She wasn't just saying this to be polite, as usual - the willowy blonde really meant it this time. Though she was at loathe to leave Ben's warming presence, she knew she would have to brave the cold sooner or later. Taking a decided breath, she cast him one last smile as she prepared to leave.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Armoury|Tags: Aiden |

Juliet froze upon hearing her name called. Aw crap. She would've recognised that voice anywhere - the voice of the Athena cabin's head counselor. She knew most of the counselors on sight (or in this case, hearing?) for the purpose of avoiding them whenever she was planning something mischievous. The daughter of Hermes turned towards him with her best poker face, batting her eyelashes innocently. "I was just grabbing some stuff for Capture the Flag later," she lied easily. "For the new campers." She held up the sword she'd grabbed not long ago, as well as a rather battered suit of armour for emphasis. "There are plenty of new unclaimed demigods who don't have any stuff yet, so I figured, might as well help them out for once?" She knew this was a bit of a stretch; Juliet hardly went out of her way to do anything for anyone - well, anything nice, that was. Pulling pranks and creating havoc was a different story. She hoped against hope that Aiden would believe her, though a sinking sensation in her chest told her that it was probably in vain.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Walking Through Camp|Tags: Jamie|

"Yeah, totally," Chuck agreed, though his heart wasn't in it. The satyr laughed nervously as they descended the hill to the cabins area - they'd have to pass through them if they were to go to the Big House. "At least, like, we get to do winter stuff in summer?" he postulated, attempting to sound more positive. "Like, that's new. And not a total bummer. Right? Like, this way, the summer dudes will like, get to do some cool winter stuff, you know?"

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Peak of Mount Marcy/Blizzard Dreamscape|Tags: Aydan|

Vivienne simply nodded. She felt no guilt for protecting her identity at this time; she rationalised it away as self-preservation. Listened carefully as Ayden fired questions at her. Thoughts whirred through her mind. I can utilise this to my advantage, the dark-haired young woman realised. Looking Ayden straight in the eyes, she formulated a response. "I do not know why I am here," she stated matter-of-factly. "Perhaps you could... aid me in discovering the purpose of this particular dream?" She tilted her head to the side, studying his movements and facial expressions. "If you could inform me of what exactly is happening at your... Camp Half-Blood, I may be able to figure out the reason for this somniant encounter." Thankfully, she was able to keep the venom out of her tone when speaking of that much abhorred place. Her icy gaze glittered expectantly as she watched Ayden, keen to analyse his reactions.

Agatha "Aggy" Clemson|Female|Unknown (Ares)|Location: In the Lake|tags: Auggie
For her part, Aggy couldn't answer. She was sputtering out lake water, and pulling herself back toward shore. Her momentum had caused her to wind up deeper than she would like to be, and she had to churn through the gathering ice particles to get back.
She winced as she worked her way to shore, the cold stabbing her like a million pins and needles. Never in her life had she felt so cold.
Finally, she dragged herself out and collapsed at Auggie's feet. "Done." She mumbled, a weak smile crossing her lips as a shiver wracked her body.

    Walking Through Camp
    @Ophelia
Sloshing over the ground after her friend, she ended up skiddering to a halt when Ophelia doubled up with a hacking cough. Concerned etched Poppy's face and she reached out to steady her friend. Luckily they were within the cabin square and the brightly lit Love Palace was like a beacon through the spilling snow. The rainbow streaked brunette helped her friend up to the doorway (although she was leaning on Elia as much as they other was leaning on her) - warmth already radiating out. Disheartening it was to see the snow mushing into sludgey slush on on the cabin pathways.

"I'll be right back! I'm going to bundle up then come back!" Poppy called over her shoulder already racing towards the green house a few cabins over. She squinted through the flurries and noted how the cabin wasn't accumulating snow. Nice work Mom, the teenager thought appreciatively. She hurried inside - it felt and smelled and kinda looked like a greenhouse; the windows foggy with condensation, earthy scents rising from the many potted plants, and the general warmth of things alive and well despite the unmentionable outside. Tucked in the back corner was Poppy's personal space. A steamer type trunk was at the foot of the bed, which she tipped open to reveal - No organization whatsoever! Leggings, skirts, camp tees, scarves, underpants, and whatever other colorful strips of linen and cotton tumbled out as she shifted through trying to find exactly what she wanted. The green ankle length skirt she already was wearing would still be fine for the weather change - a pair of cherry blossom black leggings and Drama Llama knee socks warmed up her bottom half considerably. While a cream cable knit sweater and red base layer covered her top. She tied a pastel butterfly scarf around her head in a wide headband to cover her ears - it was at least something to keep her ear tips from freezing off. She thought about grabbing her pair of brown gardening gloves from the shelf where they resided, but rejected the idea as she rarely kept anything on her hands.

Just as quickly as she had blown in, Poppy was out the door and trudging back through the cabin square to her friend's place.

The moment was passing as quickly as it had started. But a pause in time as they sought comfort in each other. Glad to have given some support the the head counselor, Ben conceded his time with her was over. "Duty calls." He understood and only thought better of her for it. Pushing his stocky frame off the porch railing, he stretched an arm across his chest to relax the tension he had felt building in his muscles.
If his tongue moved quicker, he would have let a sarcastic remark flick off the tip - but as it was, he held in his response, mentally replying to her statement about where to look: ...some place cold, like the north. He blinked several times and exhaled, nostrils flaring slightly - he definitely needed to get back to work. He'd tried to escape the usual mess and chaos of Opening Camp Day by tinkering in Bunker 9. He should have known that something crazy was bound to happen.
"You know where to find me," Ben said after her, as she was already on her way down the steps. Always happy to help and give support - he was worried about what would happen to Mira. They were at another crossroads, as she headed off to lead another quest, and he stayed behind to keep an eye on the camp. The son of Hephaestus just hoped this quest wasn't the one that broke the Aphrodite's daughter.

The younger camper signed, pinching the bridge of his nose. He knew she was lying to him, because nine times out of ten, whatever came out of her mouth was a lie. But for lacking patience, he'd humor her. "Let's say you are." He took the cuirass from Juliet and set it down. "The best place to start right now is by helping everyone find some winter clothes. This whether isn't only affecting the new demigods, but the summer campers too. I doubt any of them came prepared for subzero temperatures." Aiden gestured to his own outfit, the parka he wore clearly two sizes too big, as it almost resembled a dress. "I have my own stock since I'm here all the time." He paused. "You... You do have your own set of winter clothes, right?" It hadn't occured to him that Juliet could be yet another camper caught in this unfortunate predicament. He got along with the daughter of Hermes well enough, if only because he agreed to look the other way when her pranks involved the Ares cabin, and he wouldn't want to see her freeze in this weather. Aiden doubted anyone really wanted to be caught outside this June, unless maybe a child of Khione. Not that he'd seen another spawn of the snow goddess in the last five years. Was there a reason for that? Aiden shook away those thoughts; he needed to focus more on the now. "In any case, if you do, we should head back to the cabins and grab them. If you don't, I'll see if I have anything to lend you." He sounded uncharacteristically distracted. The head counselor moved towards the door, waiting for Juliet to follow. "Now isn't the time for pranks. Just... at least wait until after lunch. I'm really hungry."

Augusta Reynolds|17|she/her|Hades|the woods-the lake|tags:Aggy
August shook her head slowly, blinking in disbelief. “Oh gods...” She muttered, grabbing the younger girl by her sopping shirt and hauling her to her feet. “You weren’t actually supposed to—“ She stopped herself mid sentence, deciding it was better to get Aggy warm and dry before telling her off. She hadn’t expected the girl to actually jump straight in the freezing water and she really didn’t want to be responsible for her getting sick, or something worse. “Come on.” She muttered gruffly, grabbing Aggy by the arm and dragging her up the beach, back towards the woods with a hard expression on her face.

Jamie Wallace|16|he/him|Iris|Camp|tags:Chuck
“Yeah, right.” Jamie agreed, trying to match Chuck’s positive tone. “This could be fun. Maybe the uh...gods just decided to surprise us with an early winter?” He hardly believed his own suggestion, but he didn’t know what better choice there was than denial. In reality, he found the snow to be extremely unsettling, but he was trying to push any thoughts of what it could really mean from his mind. “I’m usually home in the winter, I don’t think I’ve ever seen it snow here.” He said, trying to keep the conversation going just so he could distract himself.

please give me instructions, i promise i'll follow
i tripped on my ankle and fractured my elbow
but doesn't that mean that the tour's gonna sell, though?
i try to explain the good faith that's been wasted
but after an hour, it sounds like complaining
wait, don't go away, can i lie here forever?
you say that i'm better, why don't i feel better?
the universe works in mysterious ways
but i'm starting to think it ain't working for me
doctor, should i be good, should i be good this year?

Aydan Hunt Location: Hermes cabin Tags: Vivienne (Hunter when the next day starts)
Aydan couldn't get the best reading from this Juniper girl, she seemed friendly but it also seemed sort of forced. He looked away from her to look out into the blizzard, just now realizing he wasn't the slightest bit cold. Was he supposed to be though in a dream? He turned his attention back to Juniper "I haven't been at camp long, but its snowing in June so that's weird. We are supposed to have some meeting soon." he told her. He decided not to tell her about the coming quest and how everyone had their suspicions about it having to do with Khione and an old camper. To be honest he didn't really know who Khione was, maybe Juniper would know. "Hey would you happen to know who the goddess Khione is? he asked. He was smart but never really read up mythology, Aydan put his hands one his hips while waiting to hear if Juniper knew anything she'd be willing to tell him.

Skylar Kakitid, 16 years old, Female, Daughter of Hecate, 7 year camper, Location: Big House --> Camp, Tags: Open

Skylar had discussed with Chiron for a bit about the dream and decided to go out and see if other campers had had dreams. That way they could find out who was meant too go questing. And how she could help them. She hoped one her half-siblings was a part of this quest, it was always fun to watch them go off happy. She hadn't experienced that in a long time. So she set off, deciding to ask her siblings first. Then, she could try to find others. She hoped this wouldn't affect too much of their daily life, though. Like her show and Capture the Flag. She hoped it wasn't a SUPER important quest. The whole Camp usually got involved in those.

First, she asked around the Hecate Cabin. Asking about dreams and then making sure they all knew their warming spells. She taught some of the younger students the spells to regulate body temperature and make fire. Once she was sure Cabin 20 was set, she headed off to see what she could find. Using some more advanced techniques, she kept herself warm as she asked around to see about these dreams.

|Mirabelle Everhart|17|She/Her|Aphrodite|Head Counselor|Location: Cabin 10|Tags: Ben--> Jamie & Chuck/Poppy & Ophelia (Both mentioned), Open|

Mirabelle gave a nod at Ben's words as she descended the steps of the Big House. The icy winds cut through the soft fabric of her sweater, causing her willowy frame to shiver quite convulsively. She practically jogged back to the Aphrodite Cabin, eager to find her winter coat before she froze to death. She passed Chuck and Jamie on the way, but was too cold to greet them properly. Instead, she simply nodded to them with a quick smile as she hurried by. She noticed Poppy heading towards Cabin 10 as well, quickly realising that she wasn't the only one with the same idea. She nearly bumped into Ophelia in her haste to get inside to the warmth. Offering a stammered 's-s-sorry!" through chattering teeth, Mirabelle flung open the door and held it open for her similarly frigid cabinmate.

|Juliet Pratten|16|She/Her|Hermes|Location: Armoury|Tags: Aiden |

Juliet knew when she was being messed with. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes, instead propping the sword against her shoulder. "I have winter gear," she snorted, gesturing to her coat which had been shed and left haphazardly on the floor. "I mean, I stay here pretty much all year round, so I usually keep my stuff handy. Kinda need my winter coat if I'm going to Brooklyn for the holidays." She shifted her weight from one leg to another. "If you're so hungry, why don't you head over to the dining pavilion while I go see if I can find some cold weather clothes for our new summer campers?" As usual, that was an entire lie. She would most definitely continue the mayhem she had planned if left alone. She doubted the Athena head counselor would just let her off so easily, especially given her reputation. Besides, the younger boy was pretty perceptive - he had a knack for seeing through her fibs.

|Chuck Oakes|He/Him|Satyr|Location: Walking Towards the Big House|Tags: Jamie|

"Uh, yeah," Chuck agreed, though nervousness marked his tone. "Like, a really, really early winter." He could see the sky-blue walls of the Big House looming up ahead through the snowfall. The satyr nodded as he listened to Jamie, rubbing his bare arms to warm them up. "Like, in the winter, Mr. D and the godly dudes usually let at least a little bit of snow in. But never like, a lot. And they usually don't let it get too cold." He chuckled as he thought back on what he'd just said. "Like, 'Mr. D and the Godly Dudes'... totally sounds like a weird band name or something."

|Vivienne Isole|18|She/Her|Khione|Location: Peak of Mount Marcy/Blizzard Dreamscape|Tags: Aydan|

Vivienne studied Ayden's reactions silently, making a few mental notes as she listened to him. When asked about Khione, her heart beat a little faster. Her eyes narrowed slightly, but that was the only physical indication she allowed herself to show of her piqued interest. "I know of most of the gods and their functions," she carefully explained, unwilling to reveal too much about her connection with the snow goddess. "Why do you ask? I assume it has to do with the events you described." As she spoke, Vivienne thought back on Ayden's words. A meeting... Hmm. She'd have to send some scouts to find out what they knew. Getting a few of her minions past the camp border had been relatively easy, but the full-scale army was going to take some work.

Kenna was awfully curious about the weather. Though snow wasn't uncommon in the area they were in, it certainly wasn't a normal thing in the middle of summer. That wasn't what was nagging at her brain, though. She was much more curious about how someone could control such a thing. Did the snow fall thicker and faster when they were angered? Could they make it blow? It was not nearly as wet and sloshy as the snow she had often experienced at home, but it still wasn't pleasant. Kenna knew she was going to have to go change when they were done their miniature hunt.

Kenna's breath was becoming more and more visible with each step taken. If she didn't have such a strong hatred for the chilly weather, she'd potentially even find the setting rather pretty. It seemed as though everything good always happened when there was pretty snowfall such as this one. At least, in fantasy books, anyway. Kenna was living in no fantasy world, as abnormal as the camp could seem to some. She had decided early on that her personality wasn't exactly charming enough to make it into a romantic, light-hearted story, anyway.

Her dark eyes eventually tore away from the snow on the ground and settled on Hank. "Can't you produce heat?" she asked, narrowing her eyes ever-so-slightly as she tried to remember what exactly it was he did. "I wonder if that would do any good against this snow. It's not natural, anyway." But he knew that. She was simply trying to make a point, that using powers on powers made more sense than using them on natural stuff. She didn't think about it too much, for he was on to the next question. A small smile played at her lips as she leapt onto Memory Lane. "It doesn't snow often where I'm from," Kenna informed him thoughtfully. "Though my mum and I loved ice skating when it got colder out. Do you?"

Her gaze was captured by movement across from Hank, and Kenna gently tapped his upper arm with her free hand. "I just saw Skylar. Do you think we should ask her?"

Pippa gave a simple nod of her head. Nobody had touched on the counselors, except for Chuck, who had merrily pointed out the one girl. Mera or something, was it? Pippa felt awful for not remembering. Hopefully the name would return to her brain before she ran into the girl, if ever.
She was also semi-curious about the whole Chiron-Mr.D situation. It wasn't unusual to have multiple camp leaders, those in charge, but from what she had been told about them (which really wasn't much at all), it seemed like they had their own ways of doing things. Ever the loudmouth, Pippa decided to ask, "Are these people assigned different parts of the camp? Chiron and Mr. D, that is. Surely they've got control of their own sections, right? It'd probably avoid conflict, anyway." She shrugged at that last part, pulling her cardigan tighter around the front half of her body as she watched the snow fall. Her teeth were threatening to clatter against one another, and her lip trembled from the chilled temperature, but she didn't dare complain. Pippa knew she was over-dramatic more often than not, but that came with time. She wasn't ready to tick off someone she had only met.

She was beginning to suspect Kade probably didn't want to be there anymore. He looked rather awkward, and surely he had some friends to seek out or something. Pippa didn't want to drag someone into her own issues. His earlier comment about how the monsters probably wouldn't dislike her as much as some of the others gave her hope, too. If she went exploring, she most likely wouldn't end up dead on her first day. Lovely!

"You don't have to stay here," Pippa finally told him. "Really. I'm sure you've got stuff to do." As in on cue, two girls had come into view, and Pippa could tell they were walking towards the cabin. "I'm sure these girls can help me, too." She did nothing but offer both an awkward, tight-lipped smile as they rushed past her, clearly both very cold. Raising her brows, Pip shot a glance in Kade's direction. "I'm going to go say hello." She supposed telling him that wasn't necessary, but it was better than leaving him in the dirt. She grinned, then swiveled on her heel and headed inside. She recognized the tall blonde instantly, and panic surged through her as she desperately searched through her memory boxes for the girl's name. The other one had shorter hair that was as dark as the night's sky. Both were quite beautiful, and admittedly, Pippa began to feel a bit discouraged, but she still shot them a smile. "Hello there!"

Juliet's nod to a winter coat gave him some reassurance; at least she wouldn't catch a cold. He redirected his attention back to her. "Will you though?" Aiden asked, unconvinced. "Or am I going to need to babysit?" She likely didn't enjoy the concept any more than he did, but Juliet was a mischievous force to be reckoned with when left alone. Idle hands are the Devil's playground, after all. "Look," Aiden changed gears since clearly, neither of them would enjoy the aforementioned suggestion. "What's the prank and who's it for? Capture the Flag isn't until later and if the weather keeps up, it's getting canceled. I know you wouldn't go through all this effort for nothing." Depending on her answer, the Athena camper might be willing to strike a deal, and he knew Juliet was always looking for ways to weasel herself out of trouble. She might not want to go for the Ares cabin this time though, and if that were the case, he'd have to find her a better, less cataclysmic target to minimize the repercussions of her prank. He knew her well enough to know saying "stop" was like setting up traffic cones in front of an oncoming train, so better he redirected them instead.
