He joked, his whiskers twitching in amusement. "No offense." He added, nearly as an afterthought to every other cat near him. Pricking his ears, he tilted his head with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Now if we're being technical, Leafcloud is older than me by a few moons. And I think Flamepaw should lead. It would be good for his training after all." Roseleaf would certainly be proud of her apprentice if managed to pull it off.

She started to walk forward, she was hungry, but for now, she just enjoyed the beautiful day but stopped when scented a fresh smell of a stranger cat. This cat was likely moving as the scent trail was past the way she was going at, so she thought to take another path, afraid to run into this maybe dangerous cat. She walked into the forest when scented a squirrel, but there was something odd about the scent almost like the squirrel was panicking about something, but instead turning back she walked forward, stopping again when she scented another cat, very close. While the molly did consider herself a fine mentor, Hazepaw was still a talented and hard-working cat on his own. She was glad to be able to mentor him; he was sure to make a great warrior soon.

As Hazepaw rose to his feet, so did Halfbite. "You can go ahead. I'll be keeping an eye on you from further away." She flicked her large tail quickly, signaling for the apprentice to start moving.

I mean, I've never led any kind of patrol before..." He asked, looking up at the others a bit nervously. The orange tabby was unsure of how successfully he could lead the hunt; these warriors were much more experienced than him and would probably know better where to hunt.

the tall tom let out a huff of amusement as draco tried to pass the role to leafcloud then, in a surprise twist, to the apprentice that had just joined them. the warrior looked at the younger tom as he nervously tried to get out of leading, oakbranch wouldn't be having that and he knew neither of the others would either. before he opened his maw he noticed hazepaw, the apprentices brother offer a touch of comfort. the tom's ears flicked back briefly and soft look came over his eyes though once the moment for over the warrior spoke up, "i think all of us insist, you're going to a warrior soon enough anyway." me meowed them bent down closer to the cat, "don't worry we won't leave you out in the cold, we'll help you if you need it." oakbranch gave the cat a playful nudge before stepping aside and letting him take head of the group.

the white cat was tracking close to the squirrel as it hid inside of a hallowed out branch but stopped and fluffed up in surprise when she heard a voice from down below. as she looked down the squirrel hopped out of the branch and leapt to another tree, disappearing into the shaking leaves. the white molly lashed her tail, slightly irritated as losing her meal, she looked back down at the calico and white cat, unsure of this stranger she stayed in the tree. "um well i was hunting!" the molly meow came out a little curt, she felt her stomach rumble again and she sighed. "what are you doing here?" she called back in a slightly more friendly tone, realizing this could be a clan cat and could possibly get herself killed if she was hostile.

the apprentice dipped his head slightly as his mentor spoke of him, his tail waving behind him as she motioned for him to lead the way of his own expedition. he held his head high and made his way towards the den gazing at the patrol about to leave, he saw his brother talking quickly to the warriors in front of him. the dark furred apprentice perked his ears wondering what was happening, the look on the warriors faces only showed calmly as they looked at the orange tom. as hazepaw got closer he caught a bit of conversation, leading a patrol? smart move and good for flamepaw to get some real daily warrior experience. he thought to himself hoping his brother didn't pass up the opportunity.

the tabby apprentice have his brother a quick touch on the shoulder with his nose as a supportive gesture, he wasn't known for his affection but he was always there for his brother as he knew he'd do the same for him. a quick glance from his amber eyes and hazepaw dipped into the hedges around camp leading out of camp. he stopped momentarily to make sure halfbite was behind him and would be able to see him before he set off into the undergrowth.

the molly fondly watched her apprentice approach her, the tip of her tail waving lightly behind her as she took a seat in the sun. her amber eyes looking at the tabby tom, she nodded her head to his question with a soft sigh of her own. the medicine cat lowered herself into a crouch, tucking her white paws under her fluffed fur, her meow came out soft and low "yes i noticed.. i am happy you did so on your own without being told.." she purred softly then nuddled at the vole she had picked out for the two of them to share. the molly looked up at her apprentice, motioning for him to eat with her extended tail beside her. once again she spoke more so hushed, "i was planning on taking murkypaw to go collect herbs but if you'd like to come instead since he's still sleeping."

hickoryfoot watched with narrowed eyes as the two cats begin to mention badgers. his heart sped up for a moment. the thought of taking on such a large animal was horrific to imagine. hickoryfoot knew the smell of badger all to well, during his apprenticeship he had stumbled across of badger den with his mentor. and knew the intense fear in his mentors voice wasn’t something he personally wanted to deal with. as he began to circle back to reality, his clanmate stopped talking and began to look rather embarrassed. “Its good to consider the danger. running into a badger would be bad news” he said to the tom. “i don’t want to risk that threat with weaselpaw. while she’s a strong young cat, she’s a bit rusty on the training. ”hickoryfoot thought about the young apprentice, he admired the she-cats spirit and her mischievous side. he knew she would have a hard time battling badger. he knew how headstrong she was because of her short legs, but he couldn’t lie that her short legs would be a huge disadvantage. especially against such a predator and her lack of training.
soon he stood to his paws and followed sproutbloom.he had barely known the cat, but was aware of his story. a pang of sympathy nagged at hickoryfoots heart. hickoryfoot couldn’t imagine the heartbreak of losing your kits and then your mate. he tried of brush the sadness away from him, but the more he watched the older warrior in front of him, the more the feelings pressed at his brain.

Distracted in his thoughts, he must have scared some prey off at some point and had only even realized he'd been standing in the same spot for a while when an outsider had spoke to him. "Blazetongue, and you are?" He greeted politely, flashing her a charming smile as he would do to literally anyone else. "Ah, good morning! It's been quite some time since I've been home. And you?" Despite his charming smile, his eyes were slightly narrowed, as he had already noticed that this cat was not part of his clan unless the clan had drastically changed.

The tomcat swished his tail idly as he listened to the warriors outline their plans for the day. So Beetlebite was going to go hunting - he nodded in acknowledgement. Yeah, hunting seemed like the right thing to do. Definitely more reasonable than seeking cool rocks. Whitewasp's ears perked up as Brightwing offered to let him help with Shiverpaw's training. Depending on whether he was able to actually provide help, that could be fun. "Yeah, I'd be happy to help. What are Shiverpaw's weak points?" Ah, that sounded strangely malicious. Brightwing probably understood what he meant, though.

Cloverflight and Stoneheart approached, and Whitewasp politely stepped out of the way so they could easily join the group. Seeing as the warriors weren't much older than him, Whitewasp wasn't sure why he felt obliged to yield to them, but yield he did. Though not before he noticed Cloverflight... wink at him? Huh. Appreciating the gesture but unsure how to respond to it, he merely offered her an awkward smile. "Morning!"

Sproutbloom talked about badgers, and Eveninghop gave him her full attention, flicking her ears and narrowing her eyes and dipping her head when she saw fit. Of course, it had been silly of her to imply she was the only one who had dealt with badgers - although she wished she was. Sproutbloom deserved so much better, as did his family. It was so unfair. Terrifying and unfair.

Regarding Weaselpaw, Eveninghop wholeheartedly agreed. "Oh, absolutely, good call. Some experiences are good to build apprentices' character, but badgers? No." From waht she had seen, she was fond of Weaselpaw; spirited apprentices were a pawful, sure, but such a delight to train. Oh, how she missed having one of her own. Something she'd never get to do again. The thought was cold and unwelcoming and empty, so the warrior quickly continued with a cheerful tone. "Someday, Weaselpaw's going to send the badgers sprinting home in terror, but until then, we gotta keep her safe."
