He nodded in agreement, “they both seem to be doing well.” He spoke softly still listening hearing some birds. “Maybe we should take our apprentices and split up so we have more ground to cover and can catch more prey.” They sniffed the air once more smelling a familiar scent. One he thought he wouldn’t smell again. “Oakmoon stay with the apprentices. After you catch some prey head back with them. I’ll be right behind you guys.”

He smiled happy to see her again. “It’s nice to see that you’ve come back. I was getting worried, you seem like you have gotten bigger sense the last time I’ve seen you.” He lightly teased the she-cat, “I’m sure the clan will be excited to see you again.” He motioned to the direction of camp.

Riverclaw gave a curt nod and continued to lead to the west of their clan's territory. Every now and then his ear was angling in different directions to stay alert, even taking in deep breaths sometimes. It was only a matter of time until they reached the border of Mysticclan.

He let the younger cat attack him, knowing that he could not try to hurt him, he smiled as he struck toward his muzzle "good, there was a great amount of power with that swipe, with claws, that could be effective...except your opponent could've tried to avoid it" he meowed. He thought for a moment "let's try another platform" he meowed jumping on top of two rocks which were next to next, the rock was not large, but it made him go higher than Maplepaw was now "try your next whatever move on me now? Muddylake keeps its search for more prey, spotting a few mice there, which didn't give a much fight back to catch, so they sure had some luck on their side now, but Muddylake still wanted to catch more, even if carrying them back to camp may be little hard. Sniffing the air and flicking their ears Muddylake got a scent for a stranger cat, but it was not alone there was someone more familiar there too, following it they saw Duststar talking with a she-cat 'who is she?' Kestreldawn nodded with content. Vinepaw learned quick. It wasn't a testament to her teaching skill, but rather his learning aptitude, but she still felt a little glow of satisfaction. "You got it," she replied, with a pleased grin. She followed the lead of her apprentice and the other warrior, opening her jaws to taste the air and swivelling her ears around. There was luckily nothing strange so far, and after a rather short moment of silence, she recognized their destination. ""Here we are," she announced, looking to Riverclaw for further instruction. ""Should we maybe go along the border for a bit? I don't think many border patrols were sent out, so it might be better to do a little extra?" she suggested. Her optimistic nature didn't expect them to find anything off, but it wouldn't hurt to double-check.

Maplepaw let out a small 'hmph' mixed with pride and disappointment. He revelled in his mentor's laudatory words, but he couldn't help but be fixated on the last part. What do you mean 'tried to avoid it'? Following the older cat with his eyes, he craned his neck, now having to look up at him. Great, I have the lower ground, he mused. Again, it wasn't his ideal conditons, but he'd take the challenge any day. And a challenge it would be, since he had never quite mastered the art of masking his presence. His steps were too loud and he was too squirmy. Not to mention they were on stones, where his claws and paw pads would likely clack with each advance. "Okay, but don't go easy on me this time," the apprentice meowed, a playful tone ringing in his voice.

First, he needed to mask his scent. Maplepaw paused for a moment to feel the wind, then went upwind. Now, what was his course of action? He couldn't go for the same paw swipe, that wouldn't quite work on Deerblaze's back. Perhaps a pounce and pin? That would work, but what next? I'll figure it out when I get there. I've wasted enough time, he resolved, eager to get started. Dropping down to his belly, he carefully padded forward, going as slowly as he could force himself too. He trained his gaze on the warrior, watching to make sure he wouldn't be seen. Maplepaw reached the base of the larger rock without issue, and tensed his muscles. With a triumphant confidence, he exploded upwards. In his haste, he caused a clatter of falling stones, but he paid it no heed. He was on his way down, after all.

Riverclaw agreed with Kestreldawn so when he considered the patrol’s next move, he simply nodded his head a few times. “Okay that seems good. If you can, catch something so we can bring it back.” He announced, glancing towards the she-cat and younger Tom, flicking his tail in a direction they could go. “I’ll go this way and when we are done we can return to this spot here to meet back up.” With another flick of his tail, he showed the direction along the border he would go to remark. The area seemed quiet, but not too quiet. If you listened hard enough, the prey was a led to be heard.

It took a few seconds for Jaguarpaw to realize what Silverbrook said. Taking a deep breath he stared his mentor down, analyzing his her and the situation he was in with her. He stood near her being the taller cat, but of course that wouldn’t be enough in a fight. She had something that he felt would actually be an advantage. Speed.

Searching for her weak points as Silverbrook gave him a chance to practice on her, the Tom grinned with confidence. He’s damned if he do and damned if he don’t, no point in overthinking it! Jaguarpaw dashed forward without another second passing, getting close to her to only leap over her to her other side and tried to tackle her down. If he was fast enough he’d use his weight to his advantage and hold her down. There was no way he thought he could knock her down another way, at least not by swiping her feet from under her, she’d be too fast!
