Prey is only just beginning to return although kittings will run smoother and the chances of queens or kits dying during birth will begin to drop.

newleaf -- the cold weather has finally left, and prey and predators alike have decided to come out in full force. while prey isn't as plentiful as it would be in greenleaf, the abundance compared to leafbare is not an unwelcome sight. new cats are more common as well as they search for a new home after a harsh leafbare. floods or sickness are still possible, so it's important medicine cats keep herbs at paw and warriors keep their wits about them on patrols.

Dandelion sat down, in what was going to be his camp. He was walking in the mountains, he was cold and alone, he was following his own instincts, they led him here. He walked into one of the six dens, it was the den closest to the stalagmite, in the den was a small shimmering pool and a damp circle of grass next to it. It all looked perfect, to him, at least. Something from inside of the tom made him take a sip of the shimmering water, and the tom cat fell asleep.

The fluffy white tom woke up in a shimmering area. Raising his head, Dandelion met face-to-face with a glowing white cat. "I've been waiting for this moment, Dandelion, to see you." The cat spoke. Dandelion wondered why this cat knew his name, was it a lucky guess, who even was this cat? What was in that water? The cat's eyes shined, it seemed to read his thoughts. "I am Arcticstar, I was the last leader of my clan before it died out. I passed in the small patch of grass that was next to the Shimmering Pool." Dandelion could hear the cat more clearly now, they were a she-cat, a dead she-cat. How was that even possible? "You're still confused, aren't you? Long story short, I brought you here to create a clan in my memory." "A clan? I've heard of those." Dandelion finally spoke. "I know, but I believe you aren't educated enough to start one. Now get yourself comfortable, as I will tell the story of the clans, traditions and everything, like an elder speaks to kits."

After Arcticstar finished speaking after what felt like many moons, there was a request on his mind. "Well, I'd need more cats right? Where do I find them?" The she-cat smiled. "Dear, dear, Dandelion. I can bring you a cat every... Let's say, two moons. However-" Arcticstar seemed to know Dandelion's next question. "-I can gift you a cat now, if you'd like. Now, they might take some time to find you, but let's hear your request, then." "A medicine cat, umm, and make sure it can survive the cold just fine." Arcticstar nodded. "I will take this request to my ancestors, so we can make sure it is granted as soon as possible." There was a long silence between them. "Oh, yeah, about your name- and lives."

After a pretty long ceremony that gave him multiple lives and a new new name, the newly named Dandelionstar woke up. He looked at the patch of grass and smiled. "Thank you for this, Arcticstar, I will thank you in every way possible. Starting with naming my clan after you, ArcticClan has a nice ring to it, don't you think?" Dandelionstar pressed his nose against the patch before walking outside of his den, he had work to do.

Common pelt colours, fur lengths, etc.: White, light grey, sometimes tan and light brown pelts. Normally tabbies and spotted tabbies, if not solid. Heterochromia is not uncommon, common eye colours are light brown, blue and green. Long furs and short furs with feathery tails are common in this clan, too.

Abysmal frontier is mostly shorthair and mediumhair, with many, many orientals. They tend to be leaner and quicker than most clans due to their need to leap from rocky spires and race across the terrain. The most common colors are silver, gray, brown, cinnamon, black and ‘blue’ as well as lilac. Points and tabbies and bicolors are common, smokes and points are uncommon, and solids and dilutes are very rare.
