Ooo I didnβt think about him being krampus, I was thinking that they were Christmas past present and futur, but I think krampus might be more accurate, and that makes me love him even more

These are wooden figures that have a long tradition in a region called the ore mountains. The miner became a symbol for faith, hope and luck, since miners spent all day working in dark and dangerous mines. Around the year 1850, people outside of the mines would put wooden miner figures with candles attached to them in their windows during winter, to guide the way home for the miners who'd come out of the mines at night, never seeing the light of day.
It then became tradition to also put a wooden angel figure next to the miners in the windows. Ever since then the miner and angel are sold in pairs and people to this day put them on display in their windows and homes.
The design of the pets is based on
traditional miners outfits that are nowadays only worn during events and the angel designs that originated in the Biedermeier era.
