INTRODUCTION
In the beginning, there was a cat that wondered lost trying to find a new home.
He was kicked out of his clan for a crime he didn't do. He stumbled into a forest that was healing from a forest fire.
Plants and saplings were already starting to grow, so he knew this place would be perfect.
He began to build a camp and prepared a clearing where there would be protection.
Over a few moons, everything was together and the land was almost completely healed.
Some cats joined him and helped build the clan up. This cat became the leader named Emberstar.
He gained his lives and ruled his lives fully, now many moons later his son Sapclaw became leader, Sapstar.
During Sapstar's leadership, one particular cat had grown angry with his own family.
He had taken it out on Sapstar's mate, their deputy, murdering her in cold blood.
Many moons later, the leader has grown old and frail on his last life.
What will befall the clan now?

Having traveled for some time, the old tom was hoping to see some of his home territory soon, and his hopes were quickly rising. Letting out a raspy cough, he was quick to notice the border although it smelled a bit fainter than it should have been. Must not have had their patrol yet this morning. Had the clan gotten worse while he was gone? He thought, crossing the border without worry, his pace a bit faster due to his excitement. Surely there were a few cats that must have missed him all this time. Like his siblings, or his nieces and nephews. He was sure to have much more, right?

The deputy had been awake for a little bit, having already gone hunting. As it was in leaffall at the moment, the hunting was well off for now but it wouldn't be too long before they wouldn't have much for the clan. He was currently thinking of cats to put on any possible patrols, although he couldn't have too many since hardly any cats were awake.

Flickering his eyes open, the sun wasn't out yet but it would be soon, he rose to his paws and headed out of the den, but not before stepping on his brother's leg while quietly snickering before hurrying out of the den. He would have woken up his mate, but for some reason she had asked him for some space and while he was a little confused, he respected her wishes. Stretching his legs out, he glanced around the camp clearing, not seeing many cats awake.

Being stepped on was a rude awakening, and seeing his brother snicker and leave the den, he clearly already knew the culprit. He would've been awake earlier, although he had been awake for the dusk and moonhigh patrols. Maybe he could get Oatbelly to put his brother on the moonhigh patrol and the dawn patrol for this. Doubtful, the deputy wasn't that type of cat, unfortunately.

The black tabby let out a quiet yawn, before curling into herself even more than before, ignoring the slight huff from Robinwing and the snickering from Draco as he left the den. She did not want to be awake right now, but she wasn't exactly going to snap on anyone if they did wake her up, most likely she'll just be more grumpy until she wakes up more.

Much like their father, he'd been woken by being stepped on, and drowsily looked at both of his brothers and their mother before laying his head back down onto Poppywisp's fluff.

Waking with a start, the kit was quick to tumble over both of his brothers, just to start pawing at his mother harshly. Or it probably would've been harsh if he was bigger, but it probably didn't feel worse than a fly. "Mama! Can we go outside today? I wanna go hunt and fight like in all Sunwish & Dapplefeather's stories!"

He had been awake in his den thinking to himself. He was on his last life and he was old, maybe he should retire to the elders den and let his deputy step up to the plate? He sighed he had been thinking about it for far to long in his opinion. He got up from his laying position tired and feeling his body ache. Being in fights sure take a toll on his body. His sight was beginning to fail him as well. He shouldn’t continue should he? He took a breath in and plopped himself back into the nest. It felt empty in the den as he looked at the entrance. He rolled over in his nest facing the wall of the den.

She could feel the sun’s warmth peek into the elders den making her yawn and stretch awake. Ah the mornings were beautiful and relaxing in her opinion. She got up shaking the moss from her pelt and walked outside the den breathing in the scents of the morning. She let out a content sigh as she sat beside the entrance and began to clean herself letting the sun warm her up.

She had woken up hearing shuffling from Sunwish. She knew it was her due to her pattern every morning. She slowly got up and shuffled her way out side the den. Using her paws to slight feel the dirt path, small pebbles were placed to help guide her to the entrance of the den if no one was there. “This still is difficult,” she spoke softly still saddened she couldn’t see her own kits or clan anymore. It was hard on her not only loosing her mate oh so many moons ago but loosing half her kits when she had them. Her heart still hurt a little about them but knew they would be in starclan for her when it was her time. She made it out feeling her fur brush up against Sunwishes. She moved to the other side of the entrance where she had room to sit. She laid down on the ground listening to the clan as it became more and more alive.

She woke up from hearing her kits waking. She had become a light sleeper, or was she always a light sleeper? She didn’t think too much on it when she opened her eyes as Crowkit snuggled into her. She smiled looking at them, “well good morning to you to Tigerkit.” She played a bit as she licked his head a bit as she listened to what he had to ask. “We can go outside the nursery but we can’t go out of camp, it’s too dangerous out there for you yet.” She moved a little trying to not disturb Crowkit too much. “If you want you can visit them, I’m sure they would love the company.” Today seemed to be one of her good days.

She woke up from Draco stepping on his breather. She sighed but softly giggled none the less. It reminded her of when she and Beetlebite were kits. She got up and looked to her sister only to walk over and wake her. “Come on sleepy head you shouldn’t sleep all day. Would you like to share some prey with me this morning?” She smiled at her sister hopefully trying to soften her cranky mood knowing how she would react to being awake. Her sister never seemed to be a morning cat.

He awoke from his brother with a squeak feeling pressure on him. He was about to say something when he lifted at the words outside and looked to their mother excitedly. Maybe he could sneak away to go to the medicine den and see what they were up to or maybe ask them some questions. He got up immediately his tail moving in excitement. When he heard his mother’s response he seemed to softly hummed in thought. He could definitely sneak over to the medicine den he began to jump around. “Can we go now? Can we go out now?!?”

Her whisker twitched upon hearing his sister quietly giggle at the older warrior’s antics, still pretending to be asleep for just a bit longer before Brightwing had turned her attention onto her. She was nearly grumpy over being woken up, but she couldn’t stay mad at her sister. She never had been able to after all. “What kind of prey is it?” She joked with a whisper, her eyes remaining closed as she asked. She wasn’t picky with prey and her sister knew that, but when she normally said that, she would be getting up soon. Beetlebite did always like to share a piece of prey after waking up.

Adjusting himself to get more comfortable on his mother’s pelt, his eyes were quick to open and glance from both of his brothers to their mother. “Good morning, Mama.” He’d only taken to calling Poppywisp that in the past half-moon.

Calming down for a split second to listen to his mother, he settled down, purring as she licked his head. "Okay Mama." As she continued, he was practically vibrating with excitement, and began to get much louder than he had started off with, before quickly realizing and clearing his throat. “Awesome! Can I go now? Or do you want me to wait for Wispkit & Crowkit?" Despite his usual over excitement, he loved his mother and always listened to her, but the same could not exactly be said for any other cat besides his father. Glancing over at his brother who was currently jumping around the nursery, he was shuffling his paws as he sat in place, waiting for their mother to answer. “Wispkit, I don’t think Mama wants us to be too loud.” The tabby spoke, nodding in agreement to himself.
