>Please do not redistribute .Squid's Pocket Yokai base
>All Yokai created with the artist search base are "fake", they can be made into a real yokai with A Soul Gifter item ,They may also become a real yokai if you become an artist. They may be either claimed by you as your free artist yokai OR you may be allowed to put them in current litter.
>You must have a program that can open .PSD files in order to color in the base or become an artist
(Fire alpaca is free and can do this)
>Do NOT delete the red "F" sign on the yokai



What can I apply for?
Within this forum you can apply to be a Pocket Yokai artist or a Pocket Yokai Guest Artist.

Artists and guest artists both can work at their own pace, However artists are expected to help with customs, the raffle board and current litter. Generally it's my hope that artists are willing to jump in to help if other artists are overwhelmed and help replace yokai that have been bought. However there is no max ammount of yokai you need to make each month or any of that.

Guest artists are only incharge of making Yokai for current litters, free Yokai and maybe on occasion make Yokai for the raffle board.They dont handle customs. Guest artists are more free overall and arent as obligated to help with the art behind Pocket Yokai.Guest artists can become artists if they'd like to

All people applying to become an artist will breifly start as an artist in training- they'll cover what guest artists do but will have the demand of a full artist on them.

The Pocket Yokai base for artist appications can be found here

Do I need to animate the Yokai?
No, you dont need to animate the Pocket Yokai you make for an artist application,
however if you feel like doing so feel free! I planned to make a tutorial for it but ran out of time

Can I add line edits?
No, please do not add any line edits or change the lines in any way
If you wish to make accessories or add ons you can let me know and we can talk about it

Can I make the Yokai bigger?
No, please do not change the size of the yokai

Is there a good place to find existing Pocket Yokai for reference?
Yes! The Pocket Scroll lists every existing yokai and is a great tool to look at while making one for the first time

Do you have suggestions of what to make?
I set aside some prompts and moodboards just for anyone who
doesnt know what to draw for their artist application yokai
They can be found by scrolling down or by clicking here but they arent required!

Pocket yokai usually do not have pupils

How does artist payment work?
Artists are paid for whatever pocket yokai they make and then a
small ammount of C$ is given back to the base maker for making the base

For example:
For a 20C$ custom the artist will keep 18C$ and give the maker of the base 2C$

The tax will never be very much and will always be discussed with the artist to make sure it's fair to them


Artists are currently not given additional payment for any accessories that are added to yokai



Artists and Personal Customs
Uppon becoming an artist you become able to custom make one yokai for yourself
you will gain one accessory for free to add to your first personal custom but any additional ones will still cost you

If you wish to make another in the future after using your first artist custom feel free to ask me about it.
