This thread is for discussing all things history-related!
Who are your favorite historical characters? Why?
What historical figures/eras are you learning about in school?
Do you ever wish you were born in a different time period?
Bonus question: are you related to any historical figures?

I'm a huge Ancient Egypt history/mythology and Medieval Italy buff. I've always been enthralled by Ancient Egypt customs and beliefs, my favorite mythological figure being Ra and Minh. I've always loved the mythology surrounding the day/night cycle, and I think that if gods did exist, that Ra worked the hardest--the guy has to go to the underworld every day to get the sun back and bring it back to the Noon sky. As for Medieval Italy, I've always been intrigued by how mask culture was something that was used to disguise social status to commit crimes, or pursue relationships that were deemed unruly by society.
I'm not in school anymore, and this was all mostly self research in my spare time. :3c

ooh kinda related/unrelated but i remember going to an art museum and they had alot of mummies one year. i remember a really cool cat one.
now that im thinking back, they had pretty big cats. what breeds were they even? or what breeds would they be today?
im thinking either Servals, Ocelots, or maybe Caracals.
maybe those cats came from Egyptian cats? ive always been curious about it.

I definitely am! Iβm currently learning about imperialism in the U.S. in my AP U.S. History class. Iβm a huge history buff and love to learn about wars. Iβm kinda only interested in the weird or darker parts of history if that sounds weird haha
Donβt expect anything aesthetically pleasing
