Weaselstar couldn’t stand still. He swayed back and forth and his paws shuffled. Droserathorn bumped him gently; partially to keep him still, but also as a sense of comfort. The two best friends shared a look. So much planning had gone into this exact moment. The contact only lasted for a brief second before they returned their gaze to the horizon. Over the crest of a hill, a bulky, devilish figure of a blood-thirsty cat approached. This was going to be a battlefield. But somewhere in the distance, a quieter battle would go on. One of deceit and stealth. Weaselstar’s battle was not this one. He looked over his shoulder at his Clan and nodded. His eyes shone with pride and assurance. No matter what happened, he knew his clan would not let him down. He hoped the other group was doing okay.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜


“This is going terribly!” Kitewhisker hissed as she threw a cat off of her. “We aren’t even close to the camp and we are already getting ambushed.” Agaricthroat snarled and kicked his opponent into a tree.
“At least we’ll get reinforcements once we get through the walls.” He huffed, taking a deep breath before continuing on, leading his brigade.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Weaselstar was holding his breath. Caesar’s stinky yellow-stained teeth were glinting and glaring at him, but the leader didn’t dare betray the sheer panic that bubbled inside him. He wouldn’t give Caesar that satisfaction.
“You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that much.” The brute chuckled “That or you’re a complete imbecile.” Caesar looked behind him and his goons shared in his laughter. With a curt flick of his tail, they stopped. “I hope you know what you’re doing. We won’t let you out of here alive.”
“Neither will we.”

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Bluemask pressed himself against the coarse grass of the hollow lip. His eyes were narrowed, trying to peer through the thick branches.
“Gladwhisper said there would be a weakness back here.” Agaricthroat meowed, testing each point.
“Of course it had to be the dirtplace.” Lionspark hissed, wrinkling his nose.
“Well, no one guards the dirtplace.” Wrenpetal pointed out “It’s unsavory, for sure, but it’s a way in.” Agaricthroat let out a grunt and his paw pierced the harsh veil of the bracken fronds, revealing a wide hole.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Goldfinch had needed to stretch his legs. He circled the clearing. Most of the cats were gone with Caesar. There were a few cats left over, but the majority would fight with them. Unfortunately, the hardest to persuade cats happened to be the ones that would go out with a throat between their teeth. With each leaf crunch, the striped tom grew more and more nervous. What if the liberating party had been stopped. Caesar had patrols and eyes everywhere. He sent up a prayer to the Guardian that they would arrive soon.

Swanpaw was laying on her back, Featherpaw curled beside her. The two apprentices were now much bigger than they had been when they left. The prisoner den was cramped, and Seedshine was sitting gracefully at the entrance. Goldfinch shook his head subtly, and he saw her shoulders dip slightly. He jerked his head for her to get inside the den. She did.
“They should be here by now.” she huffed, flicking an ear.
“You have to be patient. There’s a time for this sort of thing.” Goldfinch assured her. His greying fur was starting to hang off his pelt, but the muscles beneath were still tense. He had been giving his portions of prey to the she-cats. His chances of making it back to RavenClan were slim, so he had decided long ago that he would do all he could to make sure his clanmates were able to live full lives in his place.
“Do you think Newtsnap will be with them.” Swanpaw asked quietly.
“Don’t be daft.” Featherpaw laughed “He wouldn’t miss this for the world. He hasn’t seen you in ages.”
“Does my fur look alright?” Swanpaw asked, rolling back on her side.
“That’s the least of your worries now.” Goldfinch said ominously “Here they come.” Seedshine walked next to him, and peered out of the den. Sure enough, a small hole was being torn through the dirtplace wall.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

It wasn’t long before cries of pain and indignation filled the camp. Kitewhisker and Wrenpetal had been able to escape the claws of wrath from some cats, but the rest of the liberation party was entangled in battle. The two she-cats slunk around the outskirts of the hollow to the prisoner’s den.
“Come on.” Kitewhisker hissed “before they realize-” Suddenly the deputy was heaved away from the opening. Goldfinch wasted no time in squeezing out to where Kitewhisker was being tossed around. He latched his claws into the pelt of the beast attacking his deputy and thrust Kitewhisker back to the site of the den. The two toms grappled and sliced at each other until they disappeared into the bushes. Seedshine instinctively moved to go after him, but Wrenpetal held her back. Newtsnap came pelting from behind them, blood trickling from a small rip on his cheek. He almost tackled into the group, but he skidded to a halt just enough to grab onto the she-cats and shout something along the lines of an escape. Together, Wrenpetal, Newtsnap, and Kitewhisker guided the hostages out of the camp and up into the forest. They weren’t alone.

Bluemask was being dragged by the scruff. It took awhile for Swanpaw to recognize the poor scrap of fur. His cream colored pelt was drenched with red, and half of the handsome tom’s face was shredded.
“He only has three legs.” Swanpaw whimpered. Newtsnap pressed himself between her and the sight, escorting her back to the camp safely. Swanpaw couldn’t keep her eyes away from the bloodbath she was leaving behind.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Agaricthroat felt sick to his stomach. In front of him, a snarling queen was lashing out at him. He couldn’t fight back. He couldn’t. Everytime he looked at her swollen belly, he couldn’t, he wouldn’t dare harm her. But she gave him no choice. The next thing he knew, all he could feel was the sharp pricking of claws pressing down into his throat. He tried to cough and open his mouth, but the queen only pushed harder.
“Guardian forgive me!” He howled, screeching into her face. He kicked out as hard as he could against her belly and wrapped his paws around her neck, causing it to crack. The she-cat laid limp on the ground next to Agaricthroat. The silent scream was burned into his mind, and he shook it away, throwing himself back into the battle.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Bananacurl was in a panic.
“He was just right here.” She gasped, sides heaving “Spiketuft...he was...he was just right here.” Tears were starting to flood her vision. She wanted to wail and thrash around for her mate, to try and find him, but for some reason her legs were stiffened. A yelp from behind her caught her attention. It was him. He was pressed against the large boulder in the center of camp. His tufted head was matted with sweat, but no blood. Relief poured through Bananacurl. She puffed up and raced at the cat who was cornering her mate. She howled and launched herself at him, tearing into his shoulder. The rogue screeched and bucked her off, scurrying off into the woods in retreat. Spiketuft was quick to help his mate up.
“Come on, love.” he panted, leaning up against her “Let’s get out of here.” Bananacurl looked around. The camp was practically empty. All of the rogues were either dead, fleeing, or panting in place in victory of their uprising. Bananacurl nodded, and the RavenClan cats retreated back home.

⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

Weaselstar whimpered as he was tossed next to the cold body of Amberclaw. He scrambled to his feet and faced the dark tom he was facing.
“I don’t even know why I’m wasting my energy on you, old badger.” Caesar hissed “You’re not going to win. Might as well use this as a learning opportunity.” Weaselstar huffed and steadied himself. His joints were creaking and his muscles cried out for a rest. He wasn’t a young cat anymore, but he would be damned if he let Caesar overpower him. He didn’t get the chance to fight back, though. The tyrant had turned his back, and Weaselstar prepared to jump. In mid air, the RavenClan cat was intercepted, wrenched back to the ground in a sickening thud. A juvenile cat snarled and spat at him from where he once stood. The tom was shaggy and a wild look of fear shone in his eyes. Weaselstar could feel his shoulder pop as he shook out his pelt. His eyes were trained on this new opponent. Claws were out and the two toms circled each other diligently. The rogue prompted first, wailing and throwing himself sloppily at Weaselstar. The leader was able to dodge and latch onto the cat’s scruff. The cat was thin and wriggly, though, and soon wretched himself free. Kicking out, he knocked Weaselstar on his back. The leader was too slow to sit up. The sun glinted on the cat’s claws as he surged towards the disabled leader. Weaselstar let out a curdling screech as the claws ripped through his neck.

Droserathorn’s ears caught the sound and practically snapped his neck to see where his friend had gone.
“No!” He howled, leaving his task and bolting to where Weaselstar was choking on his own blood. The leader’s eyes were wild and afraid. He clenched onto Droserathorn’s paw, which was trying to slow the pooling of the sticky redness. “Stay with me.” He begged quietly “Weaselstar don’t you dare leave me. Hang on.” Weaselstar let a tear roll down his cheek before he stopped struggling. Droserathorn heaved a shaky breath as he roughly shook the tom. Weaselstar didn’t move.
“You killed him.” He gasped, fury building up inside him “YOU KILLED HIM! YOU BLOODY FOXHEART, YOU KILLED HIM!” He snarled, bearing his pointed fangs at the scraggy tom. Pure rage ripped through the shaman’s body. He felt more at that moment than he ever had before. Vengeance was cruel, and that was the only thing fueling his desire to take down that murderer. Droserathorn was swift. He tackled the young tom to the ground, pinning down his legs and clawing furiously at his face, even after the point where he stopped moving. He felt other claws at his pelt, and he turned to fend off more rogues coming to their friend’s assistance. Droserathorn was able to shove some of them away, but he soon noticed teeth sinking into every surface of his skin. He collapsed to the ground and all he saw was Stinkypaw rushing at him before surrendering to the hot pain.


⚜ ⚜ ⚜ ⚜

“Eelshriek got him.” Newtsnap muttered “Caesar was a cat, a mortal being just like the rest of us. It didn’t take much. Just a quick rip and a tear and he was down. The rest of the rogues dispersed after their leader fell.” Oleanderthorn nodded bitterly.
“At least we won’t have to deal with him anymore.” She whispered.
“No,” He meowed “But I have a feeling we’re not done with this fight yet.” As soon as the words left his mouth, a flurry of cats stormed into the camp, carrying their injured clanmates. Oleanderthorn was about to call out to her father for assistance...until she saw who was at the front of the procession.

“Weaselstar.” Droserathorn whimpered “No, no, not Weaselstar. I can’t lose him too.” Oleanderthorn cleared a space in the Shaman’s den for her father to be set down. “I’ve lost so much.” Droserathorn rambled “He can’t...I can’t…” He weakly raised his head to look over at the limp body of the leader. His face contorted into a sob and reached out to press his paw against Weaselstar’s flank. As he dragged himself across the den, a streak of red followed him from open gashes littering his flank. “No.” he gasped.
“Droserathorn.” Oleanderthorn scolded him, holding him back “Dad!”
“Get off of me!” He howled at her, pulling himself next to Weaselstar “That’s my friend! My friend...My friend.” He broke down into heart-aching wails, letting the air rip from his chest. “Guardian, you can’t do this to me!” He cried to the broken ceiling. “Come back.” He whimpered into Weaselstar’s ear “Please, please, come back.” He thrashed against the ground to get to his paws, even though he was seriously unstable.
Suddenly, the leader took a gulping breath and coughed, splattering dark liquid from his mouth. Droserathorn collapsed back, shock gripping his body. Weaselstar looked wildly around, locking eyes with Droserathorn.
“I’m back.” He gasped “I’m not dead.” Droserathorn’s face wrinkled again and nuzzled himself against him.
“Thank the guardian for that.” He cried out. But soon, he burst into a fit of coughing. He took in a ragged breath and flopped down on his side, chest heaving with the effort to keep breathing. Oldeanderthorn took a step forward, but the shaman shook his head, telling his daughter to back away.
“Oh, Drosera…” Weaselstar whispered “What have you done.”
“He killed you.” He said simply “I couldn’t let him get away with that.”
“I have more lives, you idiot.” Weaselstar hissed “You don’t. You can’t be so reckless!” He motioned urgently for Oleanderthorn, but Droserathorn hummed.
“No, there’s no use now, my friend.” He coughed, taking a shaky breath.
“Absolutely not.” Weaselstar persisted “You can’t leave. I won’t let you.”
“There’s no use.” He repeated “We’ve had a good run, yea?”
“How am I supposed to just lay down and accept this?” Weaselstar hissed, cuffing Droserathorn over the ears “You’re going to be okay. Just keep breathing.”
“My breaths are numbered, and I’m not going to waste them arguing, so listen up to me, alright?” Droserathorn meowed, pulling Weaselstar closer to him “Thank you. For everything. You...you crazy old badger. You taught me what it was like to love someone. You’re my very best friend, and I just...you don’t know how much I love you. Thank you for sticking by me.”
“Drosera-”
“Shut up.” He laughed, turning to cough “Just listen. I’m not going to be here when you wake up tomorrow. You won’t see me in the mornings anymore, but know there will never be a moment I’m not with you. You won’t see me, but I’m there. Always know I’m there.” Droserathorn looked up to where his kits were sitting. “Take care of them, Weaselstar. Take care of them.” Weaselstar started to hyperventilate.
“No.” He said, sniffling “No, you’re not leaving me. You deranged...please.” Droserathorn gave a weak smile and rested his head on his friend’s shoulder, letting his weight lean against him.
“I’m so tired.” The shaman sighed, eyes drooping “be quiet now. Let me rest.” After a few moments, the shaky breaths stopped. Weaselstar sobbed, clawing at Droserathorn’s pelt. He tossed his head back with a wail and howled until his lungs wouldn’t carry the sound. He looked to the stars and cried as loud as he could. Above him, one new star twinkled brightly. It floated gently across the dusky sky. Eventually, it stopped. It stopped in front of three older, but still bright stars. And it joined them. And the group rejoined peacefully. The stars were back together. In the shaman’s den, the flower wilted. The cats sat in silence as the life drained from the room. But the garden was alive that night.

”So… how’d you get your name, Mickie?” Copper asked curiously to the she-cat as they sat underneath a sturdy oak tree. “I found this poster that seemed to read ‘Mickey Mouse’, I know a little humanspeak here and there, and I thought it seemed good enough for me,” Mickie shrugged awkwardly. Of course, that wasn’t really how she got that name. It was true that she knew of this strange rodent called Mickey Mouse, but he wasn’t the origin of her name. But she couldn’t tell Copper about the pound, yet.
“How about you? How’d you get your name?” Mickie smiled as Copper seemed to perk up. “Oh! My housefolk gave it to me because of my fur,” Copper said rather proudly. “I think their choice was perfect for me.”. Mickie chuckled at how kittenish Copper was. It was no surprise that he was a former kittypet. However, Mickie wasn’t sure that was the same for Conquest. She hadn’t learned much from the strange cat, only that he was rather secretive. Mickie wondered where he was off to now…

“That fool! Bringing in a kittypet first, and then a poundkitty? How dumb does he have to be to stoop so low?”
“Hush, Ryedust. You’re being overdramatic. Sure, his choice in cats isn’t too canny, but he’ll learn to fix it soon.”
“But what if he doesn’t?!”
“But what if he DOES?”
Conquest awoke amongst the stars as he had now entered the spiritual realm, though he was quite upset by the arguing that was going on. However, a white cat with black splotches on him came up calm, a small starry halo around his head. “Please ignore them, Conquest,” He told Conquest smoothly. “Ryedust and Quincecloud have been arguing about you ever since you started your clan. They’ll calm down… eventually.”. Conquest snorted as he got up and walked over to the two spirit cats.
“Excuse me?”
Conquest’s voice caught the two cats off guard. Ryedust quickly straightened himself up as he eyed the new leader. “Oh, hello Conquest,” He meowed quietly. “I didn’t expect you to be here so… early.”. “Well of course he is, Ryedust,” Quincecloud smiled. “He’s probably here to ask for another member.”.
“Ah, another member. I expected that already,” A new voice joined the others.
Conquest looked over to see a black and white shecat walking over quietly through the fennel and sweetgrass, a smile printed on her face. “Conquest, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?” She purred as she brushed past the leader. Conquest smiled back as he asked her “Ah, Pokeweed, was it? You know me too well.”.
“Well, of course I do. I’m a medicine cat,” Pokeweed giggled like a kitten. “Anyways, what kind of member were you thinking of, dear ruler?”.
This was where Conquest paused. What kind of cat could he choose?
“Tongue-tied? Tch, typical,” Ryedust snorted as Quincecloud gave him a glare, which made him quiet down.
“Can you not decide? I mean, if you have no cat in mind-,“ Pokeweed’s sentence was cut off by Conquest.
“Give me some like you, Pokeweed,” Conquest replied. “Your cheery, independent nature is something I wish I had myself. Could you possibly do that for me?”.
A long pause awaited the group before Pokeweed began to speak again.
“Very well, fair ruler. Your request is granted.”

A lone cat made his way unsteadily up the boulder flow, clearly navigating the treacherous terrain for the first time. A small cliff loomed above him, the perfect place to overlook the valley. With nothing but his strange dreams pushing him forward, SpiderLeap found himself on the shelf, taking in all that was promised to him. The wind whispered past his ears toward the setting sun. He glanced up, taking in the dome of stars above him. "I've found you at last, haven't I." He mumbled. "If my dreams are true, if this place is to be mine, and the Clan's once more, show me something, anything, some kind of sign." No sooner did he breath the word sign than did a shooting star, bright and burning, fall from the sky, arcing over the mountains, reflecting briefly in the lake, before vanishing over the creek. SpiderLeap smiled, purpose igniting his eyes until they glittered like the falling star. "Very well, I need no more urging. I swear to you Starclan, I will take back what once was ours, and Cloud-Tooth Clan will flourish once more.

➣ Peachpaw raised her head, noticing a quiet shuffling from behind her.

"Currentbreeze?" She called out cautiously. There was no reply, which put Peachpaw on guard. She slid out her claws and straightened up.

An angry yowl caused her to turn around and she saw Honeyheart spring towards her. The tom tackled her, pinning her down. His amber eyes were full of fury, and his claws dug into Peachpaw's shoulder.

"What are you doing?" Peachpaw hissed, narrowing her eyes.

"You killed my sister," He snapped back. "And now I'm going to get revenge."

"You're crazy!" Peachpaw snapped, squirming underneath the newly made warrior. "Let me go!"

Honeyheart lifted an angry paw to swipe Peachpaw's face but he was caught off guard as the molly kicked him in the stomach and wiggled out from underneath him. He shook his head, growling. Peachpaw was obviously smaller than him, but she wasn't weaker. The cream molly straightened her stance and shook her pelt, glaring daggers at Honeyheart.

"You're really going to break the warrior code immediately after you become a warrior?" Peachpaw snarled. "How pathetic."

"Shut up!" He roared. "You don't know anything about the warrior code, you flea bitten rogue."

"At least I don't attack my clanmates out of grief!" She taunted. "But what would you know? Your parents were both kittypets. I may have been a rogue but at least I was forest born."

Honeyheart let out a furious snarl and lunged at Peachpaw again. The apprentice slid out of the way and pounced on top of him, holding him down by his head.

"You talk too much," Peachpaw commented.

"Shut up," Honeyheart snarled.

Honeyheart threw Peachpaw off, and threw himself at the molly, slamming into her with his shoulder. Peachpaw let out a surprised gasp and stumbled back. Her tail was fluffed up, and she let out a threatening growl. Honeyheart started running towards the molly again. Peachpaw reared up and slammed her paw against the side of Honeyheart's head. The tom was caught of guard and he tumbled to the ground.

"You're in my way," Peachpaw growled.

She lunged forward and bit down into Honeyheart's throat. The amber tom clawed at her and let out a weak yowl, but it died down slowly as the life drained out of him. Peachpaw stepped back, panting hard.

"Good riddance," She hissed at the dead warrior.

➣ "H-Help!" Cypresstail called weakly. He had been alone for a whole moon. The curly furred tom had only managed to find small things to eat, and he was freezing. Everyday whenever he smelled a new scent he called out in hopes he would either be put out of his misery or saved.

"I think I hear something!"

Cypresstail raised his head, his vision blurry. He saw a brown figure step in front of him. A familiar scent flooded his nose and relief washed over him like a wave.

"Cypresstail?" Bramblestorm gasped. "Are you alive?"

"Help me, please," Cypresstail said weakly.

"Hang on buddy, we got you," Bramblestorm said, rushing forward and licking his head. "We're going to get you home safe."

The tom closed his eyes, his ears ringing. The last thing he remembered before he passed out was Bramblestorm grooming him gently.

Lovage x1 | If it is mixed with bright-eye, it can help cure coughs.
Marigold x2 | Stops infection. Stops bleeding. Used for inflammation of stiff joints.
