im into aespa so far but i dont think their concept is necessarily unique because we have AleXa (cyborg/android concept) and Cherry Bullet (video game concept) PLUS KDA (also video game concept) so itll be interesting to see where they take it as well as how far.

but... this does make me worry for red velvet. i wouldnt call what happened with irene a "scandal" AT ALL because she openly apologized for it nearly immediately and owned up to it. like stylists are gonna be with you in it for a long run, its like BM from KARD (i think) said, theyll see the ugly side of you and the pretty side of you and thats just how it is.

i’m bad at choosing my words 😭 ik that other groups have an android/video game concept but i just mean that like this is the first time an idol group has had actual virtual avatars that are gonna be performing w them etc. (besides kda ofc but i wouldn’t necessarily call them an idol group)

n i wouldn’t call irene’s situation a scandal either! i completely agree that she handled it accordingly n appropriately and at the end of the day she is human and can’t be expected to be 100% sunshine n rainbows all the time. i just couldn’t think of a better word n was trying to take into account how knetz are reacting to it and everything. hopefully it all blows over quickly n red velvet get a cb soon bc they broke some major records with psycho

I am worried abt the virtual concept bc there are some sickos out there n I know they will probably take advantage of this n some of the girls are minors still n it's just. Scary idk what Lee Sooman is thinking, ik he is insane but this is potentially dangerous, just shows how much he doesn't care about his artists n how he's only in it for the money

They create digital versions of all their idols and people will be able to rent rooms in the hotel to spend time with the virtual idols.
I feel like this is incredibly problematic, especially with fans around who already know no boundaries and will get even more obsessed :x

SM seriously knows no limits. I was sort of weighing the differences between Ent companies based on what kind of other facilities they own, and boy, SM really takes the cake. Their facility at COEX is like... the pinnacle of ridiculous. They have plaster casts of their artist’s hands. They sell snacks that certain members prefer.
By contrast, JYP has a cafe. YG has a fried chicken place. SM has the palace of fan indulgence.

tbh i think that the whole virtual idol is just promotion

i feel like they will be just a normal group for the most part

and if they really do decide to do a virtual reality hotel (more than just, say, a tourist attraction) then that's extremely problematic
