Wind could not help himself; he let out a small purr of happiness. There was nothing he would like more than to get out of this place, and he said, "It's settled, then. I'm so glad we can get out of here and get a fresh start!" He licked her cheek back in response, his excitement almost too much for him to contain. "Yes, traveling along water would be a good idea. Where there's water, there's prey. We will just have to be careful of other prides that are out there," he remarked, his gaze already far away.

Xyli smiled, leaning against Wind happily. She sighed a soft purr, closing her eyes at the thought of real freedom, and being in charge of their own destiny. Maybe, even, some day, they would find a nice spot that had lots of prey, clear water, shade, and space, where they could settle and maybe find others like them, tired of their old prides. She smiled, letting her thoughts pool back to now. I can think of prides and families later. For now, all I know is that we're leaving. And that is enough. She though with a happy flick of her ear. Opening her golden eyes, she glanced next to them, at the river the flowed. She wondered silently if, if they followed it, they might come across somewhere worth while, or if it would just die out. It was a pretty thin stream, after all.

Naava padded up to Tanya. "What are you doing up so late?" She asked with a yawn. She had woken from a nightmare, and had seen the cub watcher and her cub awake. It was strange--she thought they would have been tired at this hour.

Tanya
Tanya shrugged. "I'm not really tired. Figured I would look around," she replied quietly. She looked behind her to see Liona pouncing at her tail playfully.

Naava nodded, laying down beside the queen, her yellow tail flicking gently back and forth as a slow breeze ruffled her golden fur. Naava smiled at Liona, her ear flicking in humor. "I understand, I don't feel much like sleeping, either," She meowed, sighing slightly. Turning to Tanya she cleared her throat, slightly embarrassed but wanting to ask, "Tanya," She started, "Do you think Otis hates me?" She asked, her voice small.

Tanya
Tanya shook her head, not really knowing. She hadn't really seen any lions interacting with each other around here. "Why would you think such a thing?" she asked.

Naava sighed, flicking her ear. "It's my whole litter. Kobu thinks it too. We're old enough to be young pride members, by now, Tanya," She growled softly, her eyes narrowed. "But not only did we become apprentices late, but we are still apprentices. It feels like we shall be forever," She sighed, her claws unsheathing to dig into the soft dirt underneath her body.

Tanya sighed, thinking about Liona. "Liona's only a month younger then you two, and she's not even an apprentice. I think Otis just has a lot on his mind and he's busy," she explained.

Naava shrugged, eyes on the ground. "In that case, he needs to get us on his mind, too." She sighed, glancing at Liona sadly. "Why is it fair if we have to suffer for no reason?"

Liona
Liona shrugged, a smile on her face as always. She pounced on Naava, grabbing her by the scruff of the neck.

Naava's sandy fur stood up slightly, and her eyes narrowed. She was too old for this; Liona should be too. Swallowing that feeling, she smiled, purring in her throat. "Get off!" She laughed softly, careful not to wake anyone.
