I had a wild gopher snake I kept as a pet for about 8 months. I saved him from a busy road moment before getting ran over and he has a huge gash across his head and had a cataract in one eye from the injury. They were young, so I took them home a cared for them until the injury was gone. Gave him one last mouse and I took them to a overgrown, beautiful little creek a few days after. He immediately went into the water, took a long drink, looked back at us and disappeared in the overgrowth.
