10/19/20 || Snowfinch, Copperpaw, Marshchirp, Lilacdream || 272 words

writing wrote: Snowfinch sniffed the cold ground, a disappointed sigh escaping her maw.

"We won't find any good herbs once the snow falls," She remarked to her apprentice.

"Hey- Snowfinch- I uh- I scent another cat," Copperpaw said softly.

Snowfinch lifted her nose from the ground, quickly catching wind of the scent as well. She could tell there was not one, but two cats. The scent of milk was laced with one of the cat smells.

Surely enough, two unknown cats came upon the medicine cats. A brown tabby had a snowy white molly leaning on them, panting. Worry filled the stranger's eyes, and quickly, without hesitation, the medicine cats rushed to her side.

"She's kitting!" The tabby explained.

"No need to worry, we can help her," Snowfinch informed them.

"Are you the father?" Copperpaw asked.

"Oh certainly not!" The muscular cat gasped. "I have no idea who this molly is. But she needs help."

"You're a kind soul," The white medicine cat said gently. "What's your name?"

"Marshchirp. I'm an ex-clan cat. My old clan was overrun with rogues. I can tell by your scents you must be clan cats as well."

"Indeed we are," The albino she-cat said. "She's about to give birth. We should get her back to camp so she can give birth in the nursery."

"Copperpaw, go dig up the herbs we found earlier and run back to camp. Tell Horizonstar we have visitors. Marshchirp, help me get her back to camp."

Without a word, the broad shouldered tabby helped the soft furred queen up off of the hard, cold ground and helped Snowfinch guide her to Irisclan camp.

10/19/20 || Zephyrrush, Bramblestorm, Brindleleap, Windsnarl || 223 words

writing wrote:The death of his daughter was still fresh in his mind. Zephyrrush had been in a sour mood for the past few days, snapping at his clanmates over small things. They didn't scold him though, they knew it was hard for him. Breezepaw was in his first litter. He had even taken a particular liking to her. She was his baby, and now she was gone. He had stalked ahead of his patrol, not wanting to listen to their friendly morning banters. He was too grumpy for that.

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through Zephyrrush's leg, and he let out a loud, startled yowl. He looked down to see his front paw caught in a fox trap! Without thinking, the silver tabby began to panic and thrash, trying desperately to free his paw. The rest of the patrol quickly rushed over to him in alarm.

"Zephyrrush! Stop squirming! You're going to make it worse!" Bramblestorm snapped. "Windsnarl- Go find Snowfinch. Brindleleap- help me dig out the fox trap."

The two toms nodded, and Windsnarl sprinted towards camp while Brindleleap began to dig at the steak with the deputy. Zephyrrush began to grow dizzy, his ears ringing. The silver tom was panting heavily, swaying. He looked down at his paw again, and nearly vomited at the sight. He blacked out, falling onto Bramblestorm's paws.

10/19/20 || Wrenlfight, Dawnbreeze, Honeysneeze || 214 words

writing wrote:The she-cats trekked through the cold territory, huddled close together. Honeysneeze was still grieving her daughter's death, but she was determined to keep doing tasks for her clans.

"Hey Dawnbreeze, come here," Wrenflight called. "My mom found something."

Dawnbreeze trotted away from the brush that she was marking, and noticed grass covered with blood. It was a trail. She bent down and sniffed it cautiously, and followed the trail all the way up to Wrenflight.

"Wrenflight, show me your paws," Dawnbreeze said with concern.

"That's not important right now, look-"

"Show me your paws," The cream molly ordered again, this time, her voice more stern.

Wrenflight lifted up her paws, and Dawnbreeze stretched forward and sniffed them. Her nose wrinkled in disgust as the smell of fresh blood and infection hit her. Honeysneeze obviously smelled it too, as she had a worried look painted on her face.

"Did you know that your paws were bleeding?" Dawnbreeze prodded.

"I-I kind of felt something, but I thought it was just the cold. Listen- that isn't important- we found the d-"

"Wrenflight we need to get you back to camp," Honeysneeze cut in. "What I found probably isn't that important. I think your paws are infected."

Wrenflight sighed reluctantly, and the three she-cats headed back to camp.

10/26/20 || Willowpool, Currentbreeze, Snowfinch || 113 words

writing wrote:"You're expecting kits, Willowpool," Snowfinch said as she felt the calico's stomach. Though, Currentbreeze was not excited at this whatsoever. Sure, she wanted kits, but not during leaf-bare. She didn't want to lose Willowpool or her future children.

"Currentbreeze," The molly noticed her mate's grim expression, and she nuzzled her leg. "We'll be okay. Snowfinch and Copperpaw are experienced medicine cats, I trust them with my life."

"I just want you to be okay," She murmured anxiously. "That's all. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you died."

"Currentbreeze, trust me," Willowpool pulled herself to her paws and pressed her muzzle into her mate's cheek. "We'll be okay. Starclan knows best."

10/26/20 || Honeypaw, Ashstream || 139 words

writing wrote:Honeypaw wrapped his tail tightly around his paws as he watched his sister go up and touch noses with the leader. He had failed his assessment, and wouldn't become a warrior this moon with his sister.

Breezepaw should be a warrior, He thought bitterly. Honeypaw began to space out, his anger and grief consuming him. His ears started ringing, and the noises of the clan quieted around him, sounding as if they were underwater. A sharp shove knocked him out of his trance and he whipped his head around to see Ashpaw- no- Ashstream standing in front of him.

"I wish we could have become warriors together," Ashstream said apologetically. "But I know you can do it this time. You're really strong! Horizonstar is sure to make you a warrior soon!"

"Yeah," Honeypaw said bluntly, not meeting her eyes.

10/26/20 || Marigoldpetal || 371 words

writing wrote: Marigoldpetal perked her folded ears as she heard a strange whispering and hissing. She couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from, but she broke off from the patrol and began to investigate. The whispering grew louder, and she could make out her name.

"Marigoldpetal,"

"Helloooooooo?"

"Marigoldpetal, come to us child,"

"Who's there?"

A cool breeze ruffled her short fur and she stopped dead in her tracks. Her little stump tail wiggled curiously. Marigoldpetal was not scared, although maybe she should be. The young molly lifted her head up. Glistening eyes met her yellow ones, and she let out a gasp. A ghostly cat stood in front of her, looming over. A sweet, calming scent wafted around her, almost like warm milk and comfort of a mother. The semi transparent cat's pelt was sprinkled with stars.

"Margioldpetal," The ghostly molly hummed.

"That's me!"

"You are so special," She sighed softly. The she-cat sank down towards Marigoldpetal and curled around her, blanketing the living she-cat in a cold fog. "We need your help, my child."

"Me? Why me?" The orange and white warrior asked, tilting her head. "How am I special?"

"Snowfinch is completely blocked off from us, someone is stopping us from reaching her and her apprentice," The dead cat explained, her voice gentle and song-like. "We chose you from the moment you were born. We chose you to help this clan. Moons upon moons before she was born we knew she was a wildfire that would be hard to put out."

"Who?" Marigoldpetal blinked. "Who's 'she'?"

"She is sweet to the taste, but once you take a bite you will fall ill to her poison," The faded she-cat said. "So young, she was so young."

"What am I supposed to do?" Marigoldpetal frowned.

The Starclan cat unwrapped herself from the warrior and circled her. "Listen for us, Marigoldpetal. She will kill more, all we can do is warn."

"You're no help!" Marigoldpetal whined. "How can I be of any use if you can't give me a straight answer?"

"Be careful of the bee. He may smell of honey, but he will sting for revenge."

The ghostly figure vanished, leaving Marigoldpetal more contused than before. Maybe she should tell Snowfinch about this.

10/26/20 || Honeysneeze, Dawnbreeze, Pumpkinpatch || 191 words

writing wrote:"It's quieter without Wrenflight here with us," Honeysneeze said sadly.

"Yeah... but she'll heal soon! Then we can patrol together soon!" Dawnbreeze chirped.

The two she-cats jumped as they heard crashing and loud yowling. They raced towards the sound to find a tortoiseshell cat stuck in a holly bush.

"Help me!" She yelped.

Without a word, the two mollies helped her out of the spiky bush. When they finished the job, all three mollies were left panting. The black furred she-cat sat up and began to groom herself and pick out the prickly leaves from her fur.

"I'm so sorry about that," The new cat chuckled.

"Oh it's no big deal," Honeysneeze shrugged. "We would have helped anyone."

"Hey, are you two clan cats?" She asked, looking up at the two warriors.

"Yes! We're warriors of Irisclan!" Dawnbreeze said happily.

"That's so cool! I've heard so many stories about you guys. Clan life seems so interesting!" She said excitedly.

"Well, would you like to join us?" Honeysneeze asked.

"Oh I would love to!" She jumped to her paws. "My name is Pumpkin!"

"Come on, Pumpkin! We'll take you to meet Horizonstar."

11/2/20 || Hailkit, Frozenkit, Cloudkit, Lilacdream, Blueivy, Bubblepop || 218 words

writing wrote:"Mama!"

An excited squeal rang throughout the camp. Frozenkit launched herself into a pile of snow, letting out an excited squeak. Hailkit bounced after her, attempting to pounce on his sister, but he was attacked mid-air by Cloudkit. The two toms tumbled and giggled in the snow, and shortly after, Frozenkit jumped in with the roughhousing too.

"Be careful now, you can't stay out in the snow for too long," Blueivy warned. "You'll get sick."

"Nuhhuh!" Cloudkit said, his face covered in snow. "We can't get sick! Snowfinch will give us green stuff to make us good!"

Lilacdream let out a soft giggle from inside the nursery. She had her tail wrapped around Rosekit and Wisteriakit, who were fast asleep.

"Have you gone to seen Goosecall since he's come back from the patrol?" The white molly asked quietly, trying to keep her voice low so she didn't wake her sleeping daughters.

"No," Blueivy sighed. "I wanted to give him time to rest. But... it has been a day now. My only worry is that the kits will come barging in the medicine den and disturb Zephyrrush."

"Oh they'll be fine," Lilacdream reassured the blue queen.

"Trust me, we have them handled," Bubblepop said.

Lilacdream nodded and Blueivy made her way to the medicine den to visit her mate.

11/2/20 || Currentbreeze, Willowpool, Snowfinch || 100 words

writing wrote:"Currentbreeze, I'll be fine!" Willowpool rolled her eyes.

"Absolutely not! You're due in a moon or so, you can't keep going on with your warrior duties!" Her mate said, frowning.

"Lilacdream just had her litter, I'm sure I can wait for a bit," She said. "It'll be too crowded."

"Currentbreeze is right," Snowfinch said. The two mollies looked up, unaware that the medicine cat was so close. "You need to head to the nursery."

"Fine," Willowpool sighed. She touched her nose to her mate's ear gently. "I'll miss sleeping next to you."

"It's alright," Currentbreeze reassured her. "I'll visit you."

11/2/20 || Honeysneeze, Zephyrrush || 151 words

writing wrote:"Zephyrrush?"

The silver tom raised his head slowly as he heard his mate's soft voice call. Wordlessly, he rose to his paws, wobbling a bit, but in the end standing up strong. He slowly made his way out of the medicine den, placing each paw carefully.

"What is it dear?" He asked as he reached her outside.

"I have good news!" Honeysneeze said. Zephyrrush cocked his head curiously. "I'm expecting kits!"

"You are?" Zephyrrush's jaw dropped. "Oh love, that's amazing!"

The silver tabby rubbed his cheek against Honeysneeze's, purring loudly. Happiness and excitement rushed through him, and he closed his eyes and just took in his mate's equally loud purrs and wonderful scent. He was so happy.

"How long have you known?" Zephyrrush asked.

"I just found out, but I couldn't keep it from you!" The chocolate furred she-cat chirped happily.

"I'm so glad," Zephyrrush told her, nuzzling the molly affectionately.
