Making their way down into the cave, it grows darker and darker around your lions, but eventually, it begins to grow bright. Theres a soft, pulsing blue light at the end of the tunnel. Following it further, it opens up into a massive cavern, covered in what looks like blue roots, red at the center it seems to be absorbing directly from the earth itself around it. Surely this is what is causing the disruption on the surface. Above them, red eyes leer menacingly. "I see you've found your way to my home" the voice croons uncomfortably. A lion...or rather... lion-like creature rests above them on a platform, something of alien origin. And the face- is familiar. (You can choose which lion has been overtaken for this role, whether its one of your own- making up an npc from a neighboring pride, a long lost relative, ect)
"Uuk'oks! Bad, Bad!" the visitor with your pride declares. Rearing up a big 'leap' it wiggles its rear in the air before taking a pounce. Apparently...gravity in this world is different because it doesn't go anywhere near as far as it expected to. The other being, Uuk'oks, as the alien had declared, narrows its eyes "I see. So this simpleton dragged you here." it eyes the other outerworldly lion, and without another word, leaps from its perch to lunge at them, determined to remove them before they can be a threat. Perhaps, this visitor knows something your lions don't about their intruder....making them dangerous.
It seems like Uuk'oks is up for a fight, long whip-like growths emerging from its fur to act as weapons as it attacks, and ridges of armor sprouting along its body to protect itself
Do your lions save their alien guest? How so? How do they fare in the fight against this alien threat?
It seemed their little friend came after all, for Chayton had noticed that the little pocket-sized lion had ultimately followed him down into the tunnel. He was a bit surprised to see the little thing follow after him, ultimately glancing toward it once it had hopped onto his back. It was small enough to ride on his back, technically, although it just felt a bit... odd, to him. This creature was such a small lion. It was smaller than a cub, really. It was more like the size of a bird, than anything. It made him wonder just where it had come from and how it had possibly survived as small as it was.
Nevertheless, he was rather glad that he had a friend to go with him, down into the depths of this tunnel. While he was content to go it alone, being a natural loner and all, it was nice to have a little company that probably knew about whatever was down here than anything else. The cubs didn't know, and even if they did, he didn't want them anywhere near this place. It was much too dangerous, if these Uuk'oks were down here. Little did he know, though, that that was actually the case.
Eventually he got down to the end of the tunnel, only to find a large cavern, something he knew had not been there before, for he would have known. The smell down here was musty and smelled faintly of wet dirt and burning sulfur, and it was dark, save for the blue and red roots that came from, seemingly, nowhere. Chayton could only frown at that, soon sighing a moment before looking for whatever had created this place... only to catch the sight of glowing red eyes looking down upon the two of them with malice.
"I see you've found your way to my home," The sultry voice crooned, a small grin upon what little Chayton could see of this creature's features.
Those words, however, caused him to frown.
"This is not your home," he'd retort. "You were not here earlier, and you will not be staying."
The creature seemed to croon a bit more before settling on a platform, now allowing Chayton to see this thing. It looked like-like in nature but it obviously had some stark differences from his species, and he could only wonder if this was another creature or... or that Uuk'oks thing. Although it was a bit of a surprise, for Chayton, along with the other cubs, had assumed that the Uuk'oks was multiple things, when, apparently, it was just one.
Such a thought was only clarified by the little friend on his back, who clearly recalled seeing this creature and made it well known.
"Uukoks! Bad, bad!" It exclaimed in an angry little squeak.
Chayton's gaze only narrowed at that, only to frown once he felt the little creature jump off of his back... only to land on the ground below. He watched with a confused frown as the little creature seemed to look about, almost perplexed that it had only gone as far as it did.
The creature, the Uuk'oks, or whatever it was, just sneered in response to the small creature's stupidity, but it's gaze narrowed shortly after, as if it didn't like what it was currently seeing. "I see... This simpleton dragged you here."
The creature sounded... unhappy. More like disgusted, actually, to see that such a small, little creature had managed to grab the attention of a lion and bring it down here, all the way into it's lair, just when it was trying to take over the world it had landed upon.
Chayton could see that the thing was not happy, and it only made it more apparent after the Uuk'oks jumped down from it's high and mighty pedestal and growled at the two. Chayton couldn't help but take a step back at that, soon glancing toward his little companion, who now puffed out it's chest but, ultimately, hid between his paws. While he could see that their little guest was more than ready to fight, Chayton could see why it's home was so easily overtaken, for this Uuk'oks was probably around his size... and, well... their little guest was pretty small in comparison to him. But, nevertheless, with this information, it appeared the little creature was ready to fight anyway, to avenge its family, its friends, and its home.
Of course, it'd need some help, though. And, while Chayton was there to do just that, the male couldn't help but wonder if they would need more help somehow. This creature apparently was quite strong, thanks to the odd armor that it had managed to conjure upon itself and the whip-like growths that had come out of it's fur. It was enough to make Chayton begin to question if his claws would be enough. He swallowed a little, seeing his opponent, but nevertheless, he had to be brave.
He had to make an example of this... for the cubs. He had told them he'd be back and he meant it. He wasn't going to just leave them there. Likewise, he wasn't going to leave his pride to finish the work that this creature had started, and he wasn't going to let this creature try and take over their pride lands or even the world. Whatever this thing was, it had to be taken down, and it had to be taken down now.
Chayton growled as he readied himself, digging his claws into the dirt and dust below as his bloody red eyes glared upon the creature, who looked a lot like his tominatoak, Alosaka, who stood before him. He had to stand strong. No backing down now.
He looked down to see their little guest do the same thing, almost mimicking him in his stance and standing before the creature with a glare in it's own four eyes.
It was time to act. Time to take this thing down to the depths where it belonged.
