EDIT: i feel like i should also mention that i was genuinely appalled at the way tess and the staff handled addressing blm, i even had a mod give me a warning for having acab in my bio- i dont really care what their stance is on acab but if this site allows people to have literal confederate flags in their signatures i dont think itll hurt anyone to say acab on my page that is viewed by little to no people. im not one to point a finger and call somebody a racist but it just feels iffy that they felt the need to tell me to remove that from my bio. idk again thats just my two cents, i hope this doesnt get deleted 😳
EDIT 2: thats not to say there are no good mods/staff. i appreciate everything that the staff does and often times they go out of their way to help! but there are always a few bad apples in a bunch.

this is ONLY addressing the first "EDIT" you have, nothing else in your post.

i believe it is likely that "acab" was asked to be removed because one of the letters stands for a curse word.
also, confederate flags are not allowed anywhere on cs.
Black Lives Matter post by Tess wrote:In acknowledgement for these issues we have created a new rule: Confederate Flag images/themes are no longer allowed. It’s important to understand and acknowledge mistakes from history, but we don’t wish to honor these views with representation on CS today.

ohh yes that would make more sense, i didnt look at it that way beforehand! it does make me wonder why they have a speech bubble item that says lmao but i suppose its not considered as bad of a word? idk correct me if im wrong but it just makes me wonder.

We allow a few specific minor curse words to be used in forum posts as long as they are not directed at other people. These are: ass, damn, crap, and hell.

General Forums vs Art Community

I don't know about the general forums much because I am not in them very much. But the art community is surviving, if not thriving. There are lots of new adopts and editables. Plus just a lot of art in general. This is my primary art platform, my other being GIMP which just sucks. This is just my opinion, there were other things I wanted to cover, but everything else got pretty heavily covered and discussed earlier.
I really suck at phrasing my opinions so please don't yell at me if I miss-worded something.
We're a system. We will most often sign off with who's fronting.

I recently got back on chicken smoothie but on a new account because I couldn't remember my old account information or email from YEARS ago. I mean it was super old. I was probably in middle school or younger when I made it. Everything on there is probably rare now. Recently I found and got into my old email and tried to recover the account but you can only have 1 account on chicken smoothie so the staff isn't going to help me at all which I guess is fair. But the recent months I've been on this site has been hell. I was absolutely stunned to see that my beloved child hood site had so many rude people. Events are dead and theres nothing to do on here. More importantly when the events are here they're boring and uninteresting. It's just grown stagnant and I think its going to die. I now play flight rising which is this sites biggest competitor and its so much better. Theres just so much more to do and theres events. I understand that this is an adopt site but theres so many other adopt sites that have so much more to do. I like flight risings mini games like puzzles and fighting with your pets. I also love Liodens events as theres just so much story and never-ending things to work towards. It just looks like admins have given up on here. I know it takes a lot of effort and time to make an adopt game but other adopt games are putting more effort and time into theirs and it shows. In the years since I've been gone I thought that they would have implemented new features and things to do but theres honestly nothing different. I've always supported this site until now. Heck I think I bought $50 worth of C$ just to help support the site last week/this week but I regret it as it just wasn't worth it and a waste of time. I'm quitting but I seriously hope the admins and site owner can get their things together before they kill this site for good.

As many can see from looking just at my profile, I haven't been around as long as others. Only been around since 2017. But, I do agree with a lot of points that have been brought up in this thread. The reason I'm posting though, is because of this one.

After some thought and consideration, I realized genuinely? I don't play on here for the pets anymore. There's no POINT to. Chicken dollars are the primary currency for art and the pets have become stagnant, they're still gorgeous, but the most I do is trade them to players who still care here and there for PPS dogs. Decorating and collecting essentially the same base pets over and over again has grown stale extremely quickly. There's no use for them anymore, except for buying art, hording some or just... well, that's basically it.

We need something else to do with the pets, nothing heavily taxing of course. But the most people have to do with them right now, is decorating them for the costume competitions and using them to trade. Which, trade isn't as prevalent as it used to be from what I've noticed. Especially seeing as quite a few threads that used to be used to help newer players are usually dead with no one responding.

TL:DR. The pet trading and forum is basically dead, next to people pleading for pets or hosting auctions (which in some cases are also dead). There needs to be something new to spice it up, even if it's a tiny bit.

To make events more interesting (excluding monthly events, I highly doubt we could have a new event every month), does anyone think it's possible to add more to the current events? Like, a story, for instance? For example, in the Christmas event, you could have a story where you have to save Christmas, where you get rewards for the further you progress through it. (This is just some thought that popped into my head at 3am help). Any ideas?

you mentioned neopets in the post - while it is even older than CS, "alive and well" is a HUGE overstatement. it is very much dying, and it's largely due to it being sold. it's changed hands many times and eventually became a rather clear corporate grab for money. almost all of the users have left and the few who are still there are just the ones reliving nostalgia from it's heyday, or that small minority still willing to throw cash at it. which leads me to my next point - in order to be sold, a site needs to be worth something. chicken smoothie might make some money, but i am sure its value is far from what any company might be interested in. sure, someone might snap it up, but it will likely be someone with little experience and poor management. the process of selling a site like this is a headache overall as well, something Tess and Nick probably don't really want to deal with for a silly little high school side project. altogether, i just don't think selling the site is a good decision, and would probably create more problems than solved.

I've just returned after using this site in like 2014. I want for Chicken Smoothie to live on!!!!! Many other sites I used to know (AnimationSource, Psypokes, and other game sites, even people's webcomic sites or fansites) are very very dead, or dying out especially on the forums. Social Media has changed other parts of the internet a lot, and even art sites like deviantArt and Weasyl are hard to function or dead. People are just not active on actual websites like they used to be. It's taken a huge toll on art websites as well. And when you've spent most of your life on virtual pet sites and art sites....it's really a shame how inactive they are now! Many of us who played on this site as a kid don't have the time to do so much anymore, and new users aren't finding the sites because they spend their time on social media or youtube (not to blame, or sound like a boomer, that's just how it is now!) Unfortunately it is the end of an era, and I think it would be smart to try and take a chance with changing what we can to keep what we have left...?
