the siamese leader couldn’t tell if the other cat just didn’t really like him or if he just wasn’t the most friendly cat, but the young tom was certainly trying his best to keep his cool and attempt to befriend this stranger to his best ability. "yes I suppose you’re right. you said your clan has only been around for a few moons, right? How many cats have you gathered in that time, if you don’t mind my asking." his blue eyes sparkled in curiosity.

the slender abyssinian tom stayed close to his friend's side as they made the journey from the high mountains that they called home to this much more mellow forest gathering space. the larger ragdoll had been talking his ear off the entire time about all the things that could go wrong by allowing his cats to attend, with the ever so slightly older lean tom trying to soothe each of the worries as soon as it escaped his leader's maw. as they finally entered the clearing, he could see his friend's eyes widen as the immense number of scents and sounds overtook him; dockshade had attended a few gatherings when he was younger, just a medicine apprentice by the name of dockpaw at that time, but stratusstar's father had never allowed his son to attend, and so this was the leader's very first gathering. dockshade explained to the leader that the leaders, deputies, and medicine cats all had a certain place where they would sit during the gathering, but the rest of the clan was free to wander as they like. he even lead his friend over to the rocky cliffside and leapt up onto the first ledge himself, nudging with his head for stratusstar to climb to the top ledge with the other leaders.

he was never the best at trusting others, and was known to be a bit wary of strangers when he met them; couldnt help it really, the only cats he had known had been his own family, and his mother had always insisted on chasing off any loners who came through their property in case they meant trouble. of course ever since coming to join yangclan he had done his best to come across as less gruff and more sociable, but his attempts at smiling tended to come across as a bit more as awkward than friendly. he promised himself he would attempt to make at least one friend tonight though, and as they arrived and everyone began to part ways, his pale green eyes searched the clearing for someone else standing alone who may benefit from his approach.

the lanky dark tom knew that his young apprentice was the most likely of their group to get into trouble at the gathering that night and so he sent up a mental prayer to the ancestors in the stars that nothing too crazy would happen to cause anything raucous to come out of his little brother's muzzle.

the young apprentice bounded behind the other apprentice, his ears perked up and eyes sparkling as he took in every word that was said to him. He couldn’t help the childish giggle that escaped his maw at the gossip. "oooo that does sound scandalous. I mean our clan is pretty open about almost everything; honestly we don’t have many secrets. But it still sounds fun to listen to the deputies!"

the tall fluffy grey and white tom felt a purr rumble deep in his own throat at the sound of his mate's purr, feeling warmth spread through his body as his mate gave him a lick. "oh my goodness, snake's kits are already apprentices? its crazy how quickly time flies, i feel like they were just born. the celestials are doing pretty good i suppose, although satinstar lost her first life this week. there was a wild dog in our territory and the patrol managed to chase it off but only after it attacked satinstar. thats why she isnt here tonight and i am instead."

the large molly had been to plenty of gatherings before in her old clan, and even one or two as the rit zien of the celestials as well, so there was nothing knew about going to the glade and mingling with the other cats. it was slightly different now than with her old clan, since jungleclan had been far less inclined to allow any sort of relationship with other clans, but the celestials were more than happy to allow their clan to do whatever made them happy. perhaps she could find a reason to be happy...

the young warrior felt his excitement bubbling up inside of him, and practically talked the ear off of the rit zien as they made the trip to the gathering space, telling the older molly all about his mate from one of their ally clans and how he hoped to be able to see them at the gathering tonight. the older molly just let him talk on and on, sort of zoning him out which he could tell but he didnt care, he wasnt going to shush him self up. as they burst into the clearing, he immediately bolted off into the crowd in search of the pretty brown shorthair form, giving bold smiles & loud chirps of hello to anyone who met his eye.

the speckled molly was curious what this stranger had heard about her new clan; of course, the celestials has been attending gatherings for far longer than she had been alive. "oh well I’ve only recently come to join the celestials you see. I was a kitty pet for most of my life before my two-leg died and I was on m own. What things have you heard about my clan I’m curious?"

the large chimera tom was glad that his friend seemed to have relaxed at the presence of the other cat and chuckled lowly, nodding his head subconsciously. "i think hickorywink had another littermate or two but I can’t think of their names at the moment. I know his mother had another litter of kits more recently with her mate but they’re just becoming warriors, this past moon in fact."

the munchkin tom listener intently as the other cat spoke and noticed the particular inflections of their tone of voice, how it raised and lowered at certain times of what they said. when they added about being in a wheelchair, sightblaze actually physically perked up abit, his ears standing tall and one twitching in excitement. "peuwobble - a wheelchair. that’s what some two-legs use right, to help them get around when they can’t walk? I-I used to have my sight, when we lived in a two-leg town so I think I remember what that looks like."

the fluffy chocolate calico couldnt help but feel surprised as not one but two other mollies from apparently different clans approached her in an attempt at friendship and the large smile that came onto her face was so excited and friendly she couldnt keep her feelings at bay as she looked between the two. "it is really quite exciting, youre right! before joining the celestials, i never quite realized how many cats even were in the world; we're a big clan you see, well over a hundred cats. but i love it, we all just feel like one big family. and of course you can walk with us baconbitz! the more the merrier! i love making friends! i'm emeraldchin, of the celestial beings."

the grey smoke molly felt her face warm to a slight red tint as her father licked her curled ears; her mother had told her that her ears were something she inherited from him, and she was glad to see it had been true. "oh no nimbuscurl it’s just me. Mother only had me; but when I was a kit she used to say that was more than enough cause of how much energy I had. my training is going really well though! I’m almost done with it actually, just another moon and I can try for my test! I don’t know how much you know about the celestials, but warriors are split in two groups. I’m training to be a messenger, which means I’m more quick on my feet and better at hunting than fighting."

the white and black bengal molly was grateful that the cat that she had approached seemed to be friendly and willing to make friends with her; she would grow to be more confident as they spoke more, but she was always a bit nervous meeting new cats, afraid they wouldnt like her for some reason. "yeah thats right! islandclan, our seraphim smogtongue's mate lives there! actually i think alot of our clanmates have romances between our clans." she giggled a bit at the words she spoke, wondering if she would ever find love someday.

the brown and white tabby's claws dug into and out of the ground repeatedly in an attempt to calm herself and keep from bouncing around; she was known for her endless energy, something that drove her mentor and mother both crazy at times, but everyone said she would grow more calm as she got older. "its nice to meet you leopardpaw! islandclan thats one of our border clans i think." her eyes flickered to his own, noticing the way that he looked at her fangs but in curiosity not fear, and her grin grew. "my mother said that my fangs passed through her bloodline. rumor has it that somewhere in our lineage were vampires." she giggled a bit, wiggling her eyes dramatically; she knew most cats didnt believe in the supernatural, but being who she was, she knew just how real they were.

the white and orange Tom wandered around the gathering space aimlessly; he didn’t have many friends in other clans to be looking for but he wanted to change that! Just then he saw two mollies right beside him run into each other and his gentlemanly manners kicked in as he approached them to offer a paw. but before he could say anything, one of the mollies actually walked into him as well, and he couldnt help the low chuckle in his throat as he gave the two mollies a polite smile. “well i noticed you too trip over each other and was going to offer my assistance, but seems like ive managed to insert myself just a bit too much into your way. i'm papayapad, may i ask your names?”

xxxsunstar nodded in agreement, "new cats can be daunting," he said, "i was lucky enough to attend gatherings as deputy first, so i knew what to expect." sunstar looked to the tom's scars. "i haven't necessarily heard the name pillarclan recently, but we live in a deep forest. did you have to travel far for tonight?"

"yes, i'll stick with amberpool," he decided, "rolls of my tongue a lot easier. over there," he gestured to the small statured seal point tom sending them harsh looks every now and then, "that is my mentor, frostthorn. full medicine cat of twistedclan," he tried to keep his tone light but couldn't hide a small frown after mentioning frostthorn's position still over his own. "do you have an apprentice yourself?"

xxx"ugh, and i thought trudging through snowdrifts was bad," quakescreech shivered thinking of winter, "i'm glad our trees at least halt most of the wind. i can't imagine the mountains or cliffs. i prefer the warmer seasons as well since starlingsky always sends me on patrols in snow. longhair doesn't mean i want to freeze my paws off."

xxx...birthdaycake, silverstem pondered the other queen's name. she was glad the bearclan queen was just as perplexed as she was and silverstem's homebodyiness was showing. "it has a ring to it," silverstem eventually decided. "i haven't had a chance to name a litter of kits myself for a long time, i see some things have changed."

"Ive gathered up five other cats, to let you know," he replied, tipping his head at the notice of a star flickering. He turned back to the other cat. "How large is your clan? Are you doing well?"

one stepped into the clearing, it had been a while since he had decided to come to a gathering but with the birth of his kits he thought it would be a good time to go out. darkheart was beside him, his head raised high, the tom had been in a good mood since badgermask announced she would be having his kits. he watched as the rest of his clan parted from him running off to find others to talk to.

Rookstar couldn’t help but laugh at the way Cypressstar acted. He seemed so carefree and settled, as if nothing ever bothered him. “Our nursery is positively overflowing with kits right now. Not the best circumstances, considering that it’s leafbare, but all our queens seem healthy and happy to have their families. I’ve watched so many of our younger mothers grow up,” he sighed, thinking of Pipistrellecave and Whimbreleyes. Both had been born into the Clan, and Rookstar had watched both become respectable members of the Clan.

Chasmstar put on a thin smile and shook her head. “Relationship troubles are such a beast,” she chuckled sadly. “Never apologize for overstepping boundaries, though. I do it all too frequently,” she just chuckled as her heart gave a sharp twinge as if retaliating against her thoughts of the happy times with Rookstar. Her exterior began to harden as she grew angry once more, remembering how he had asked Freuxfreckle to also be his mate without consulting her first. It had hurt. A lot.

Richterscreech was silent as he thought his answer over. How did he respond without talking until the sun began to rise? “It’s such an honorable position, and one I hope to do justice in. My Clan’s best interests are at my heart, not my own,” he explained gently, knowing how awful a cat in a leadership position who only worked for theirselves and not the good of the Clan was.

Wolfwhiskers began to stop thinking about Bumbleflight and turned his attention to the conversation before him. “It’s a little rough. A sickness stole many clanmates from us not too long ago, though we are recovering nicely,” he mumbled, remembering the death of Morningwhisper and the return of Rocherpebble.

He turned and bolted, turning his head over his shoulder to make sure Cherrypaw was still following him as he fled from the tom he knew would punish him later.

He laughed at Quakestone’s comment. Some mentors were tough like that, but they always produced the best warriors. Their tough love honed a cat’s abilities until they were shining brighter than stars. “I’m still so proud of you for your name, Quakestone,” he smiled, the name rolling off his tongue as if he had said a million times before. It flowed so perfectly in a way he wished his own name would one day.

Nuitpelt chuckled quietly, ducking his face behind a paw to hide his laughter. “I prefer the cold weather, though it may be because I like to accompany my father on excursions into the mountains. He tells me such a romantic story about himself and our other father, and I know he misses his original home in the mountains,” he paused and turned to better face Arumwhisper and Quickflow. “Living among the cliffs sounds so amazing. Except that cliffs tend to be dangerous to younger cats.”

Peuwobble’s eyes were downcast after having to describe something they so hated bringing up, and they nodded to Phirozashatter about Hickorywink’s half-siblings. It was only right that any cat who’d had a fling with Richterscreech should eventually move on and raise a family with a true mate. At Sightblaze’s excitement, they perked up and nodded. “It is! There are things I can’t do, like swim or run around in the rain too much, but it makes my life so much easier. I sometimes go without it, though I prefer having it. It reminds me of the time that I was Avery and not Peuwobble,” they chuckled, as if Avery was a completely separate cat from the one they were now.

nightfur nodded. "I bet." He sighed. He didn't want to bring up cardinalpaw, but he had lost a son that day too...and a daughter. betrayal ruffled beneath his pelt as he thought about snipepaw, but he wasn't going to tell his mate that. snipepaw had hurt him, but he still loved her, and she deserved to have a life with her mother. "batcry is doing well." he assured her "he got his first apprentice this moon!" a purr rumbled in his throat "they grow up so fast"

Instead, he looked up to his friend's face, and considered him. His eyes were round and sparkling, and there was a kind expression on his face. The kindness urged him to ask, and he couldn't stop the words before they spilled out. "Otterfur, have you ever been in love?"

While he was talking, his body subconsciously leaned to the side until his fur brushed Katara's. "And I would love for you two to visit. I can show you around the territory, and the camp. Riverstar is a great leader, I can't imagine he'd mind. And maybe we can do some sparring, eh? Now that you're a big strong warrior, you think you can beat me?" The question was directed at Hollandmarch, who he offered a friendly smile to.

Clarkpaw gave a big smile. "Yep we are allies! Shinegaze found me when I was 3 moons and I'm now 11 moons so I've been in Marshclan for about 8 moons." He spoke. "How about you? How long have you been in Mistyclan?"

"I haven't heard too much, as this is my clans first gathering and I've only heard a few stories of your clan," Rustleg began. "I've mostly just heard how it's quite different from any other clan I've seen or heard about. Also I'm sorry about your twoleg." Rustleg spoke, giving a small frown.
