The gray and white leader raced across the clearing out of breath. The trip was long from where they had camp, not to long but long. His clan was so small he worried it would be attacked if he left with to many cats. “come on” he called to his cats before disappearing into the crowd

part of the fun of gatherings for nimbuscurl was looking at all the cats. by now, his genes reached into many clans, and he never knew if he would one day meet one of his kits from his flings. he hoped so, since he adored his bearclan kits. he spotted a curled-eared she-cat about apprentice aged. doing some quick math, the tom determined she might be of his decent. a breeze carried a whiff of the celestial beings, one of the clans that housed a fling, and he decided it would be worth a shot. nimbuscurl strolled up to the young molly and cleared his throat.
"hello, there." he meowed with a smile "are you looking for someone?"

Featherstar sighed and sat down, motioning for Loststar to do the same. “In terms of prey and weather, we are doing well, however tensions gather at the borders and our cats grow uneasy. The skies have been clouded for days, but with no rain or sun, our herbs perish. I am certain we will get through this however it will take... time.” She hesitated. She knew that it was rare for two leaders of diffferent clan to be so comfortable sharing information like this, however Loststar was her oldest and most trusted friend. Brightening she turned to the tabby leader. “What about Marshclan? I hear that the nurseries have grown crowded.”

the siamese leader couldnt help the nerves that he felt when his best friend stopped at the medicine cat cliff and nudged him to continue climbing up to where the other leaders perched. he nearly shook with his nerves, but dug his claws into the rockside deep enough to clamber his way up and take his seat. he figured he was in the right place by the names he heard the cats around him calling each other; they all had the suffix star, just like he himself did. his pale blue eyes landed on a dark grey tom sitting off to the side by himself, and slowly he approached the other leader with his head down respectfully. "hello there. i'm stratusstar of yangclan. this is my first gathering. what clan do you lead?"

the slender abyssinian tom stayed close to his friend's side as they made the journey from the high mountains that they called home to this much more mellow forest gathering space. the larger ragdoll had been talking his ear off the entire time about all the things that could go wrong by allowing his cats to attend, with the ever so slightly older lean tom trying to soothe each of the worries as soon as it escaped his leader's maw. as they finally entered the clearing, he could see his friend's eyes widen as the immense number of scents and sounds overtook him; dockshade had attended a few gatherings when he was younger, just a medicine apprentice by the name of dockpaw at that time, but stratusstar's father had never allowed his son to attend, and so this was the leader's very first gathering. dockshade explained to the leader that the leaders, deputies, and medicine cats all had a certain place where they would sit during the gathering, but the rest of the clan was free to wander as they like. he even lead his friend over to the rocky cliffside and leapt up onto the first ledge himself, nudging with his head for stratusstar to climb to the top ledge with the other leaders.

he was never the best at trusting others, and was known to be a bit wary of strangers when he met them; couldnt help it really, the only cats he had known had been his own family, and his mother had always insisted on chasing off any loners who came through their property in case they meant trouble. of course ever since coming to join yangclan he had done his best to come across as less gruff and more sociable, but his attempts at smiling tended to come across as a bit more as awkward than friendly. he promised himself he would attempt to make at least one friend tonight though, and as they arrived and everyone began to part ways, his pale green eyes searched the clearing for someone else standing alone who may benefit from his approach.

the lanky dark tom knew that his young apprentice was the most likely of their group to get into trouble at the gathering that night and so he sent up a mental prayer to the ancestors in the stars that nothing too crazy would happen to cause anything raucous to come out of his little brother's muzzle.

the young apprentice was beyond excited to have been chosen to attend the clan's very first gathering under its new leadership, along with his adopted brother/mentor. he chittered with the dark tom the entire journey about how excited he was to make new friends and talk to all sorts of strange cats, but there was one thing that he kept to himself, a secret hidden in the depths of his heart; he was specifically hoping to see a large fluffy apprentice from a bordering clan that he had met by pure accident one day and had been unable to get off of his mind ever since that chance meeting. he could only hope that the mysterious gwydion would also be attending the gathering with his own clan, and as they entered the gathering space, he began to ignore the words his mentor was speaking to him, his eyes scanning the space for any familiar faces, or anyone who may be his own age to make a new friend. just as he was lost in his thought, he found another cat backing into him, and although he let out a short yowl in fright, he quickly turned to give a friendly smile to the stranger. "well hello there ourspaw! good to meet ya! i'm cherrypaw, from yangclan. its our first gathering you see. what clan you from?"

the tall fluffy grey and white tom knew that there were bound to be cats asking questions about where their leader was, and why satinstar wasnt attending the gathering with her clanmates this moon, but he had no problem leading the cats himself and politely sharing the truth; satinstar's patrol had been attacked by a wild dog and although the leader had saved her clanmates, she had lost a life of her own and had to stay in the rit zien's den while she recovered. as they arrived at the clearing and his clanmates split their separate ways, the tom cat approached the front of the space where the higher ranking cats would sit and mingle, all the while keeping his eyes peeled for the familiar black and white form of his handsome mate.

the large molly had been to plenty of gatherings before in her old clan, and even one or two as the rit zien of the celestials as well, so there was nothing knew about going to the glade and mingling with the other cats. it was slightly different now than with her old clan, since jungleclan had been far less inclined to allow any sort of relationship with other clans, but the celestials were more than happy to allow their clan to do whatever made them happy. perhaps she could find a reason to be happy...

the young warrior felt his excitement bubbling up inside of him, and practically talked the ear off of the rit zien as they made the trip to the gathering space, telling the older molly all about his mate from one of their ally clans and how he hoped to be able to see them at the gathering tonight. the older molly just let him talk on and on, sort of zoning him out which he could tell but he didnt care, he wasnt going to shush him self up. as they burst into the clearing, he immediately bolted off into the crowd in search of the pretty brown shorthair form, giving bold smiles & loud chirps of hello to anyone who met his eye.

this place, this time, this gathering was the perfect opportunity for the devious molly to gain information about her new clan's strengths and weaknesses, if they had any enemies or allies she should know about, if there were any open secrets that were gossiped about when other clans spoke of the angels. she could feel the ghostly presence of several of her friends drifting in the air around her, completely unseen by any other cat, but she felt them and that was enough to provide her with a sense of comfort as she slipped away from her group and into the crowd of strangers.

the large chimera tom had never been to a gathering before, but he had requested to go as well as his friend emeraldchin ever since smogtongue had chosen their blind friend sightblaze to attend; they knew that the tom would be nervous about attending and that the two of them being at his side would provide him some peace. as they entered the gathering space, he couldnt help the way his ears flattened against his skull at the sudden overwhelming pulse of new voices and noises that barreled into him all at once. he was never the most social cat, so this would be a bit of a challenge for him, but he would certainly try his best. his bright eyes watched a strange looking cat approach the place where he stood with his best friend, and he felt the munchkin stiffen at the strangers voice, so he flung his tail over the orange tabby's back in an act of comfort before he spoke to the new cat, offering a small smile to try to be friendly, glad that his massive stature didnt scare off the newcomer. "its great to make your acquaintance peuwobble. my name's phirozashatter. we're from the celestial beings clan, if you've heard of them."

the munchkin tom was worried about attending this gathering, and wasnt even quite sure why the seraphim thought that he would be a good choice to attend. not only were his short legs a hassle for the journey, making him have to take twice as many steps to keep up with his average-sized clanmates, but he also couldnt see at all thanks to his massive eye scarring, and so he had been leaning on his two best friends the entire trip, with one of them standing on either side of him to ensure he didnt stray from the path. how was he supposed to make friends if anyone that looked at him would probably only see his shortcomings? his ears perked as he heard a strange rolling sound approaching where he stood, a strange voice greeting them in a friendly tone. he cleared his throat awkwardly, lowering his head in submission to whoever this new cat was as he greeted them. "hello peuwobble. i'm sightblaze. nice to meet you. what clan are you from?"

the fluffy chocolate calico spoke kindly with random passing conversation with her two best friends as they made the journey to the gathering space, in an attempt to keep both of them calm and distracted from their worries. she couldnt help the way her entire face brightened up, her eyes getting a sparkle in them as they widened, taking in all of the unknown faces and scents; it was one of the most beautiful things she had ever seen, so many different cats together in such harmony. she smiled to her two best friends as a cat approached them to converse, and wandered into the crowd to make a new friend herself.

the fluffy little molly couldnt help but feel awed by the sheer multitude of cats all around her; with different shapes and sizes, colors and coats, even the scents were unique in all sorts of ways. part of her wished that her mother had come with her to the gathering, because then she may perhaps feel at least a tad bit of security or peace being in this new place full of strange cats. all of a sudden, a large fluffy grey tom approached her from the side, and she couldnt help the soft squeak that escaped her maw in surprise at the tom-cat's appearance. she offered him a very small smile, unable to help her pale eyes from noticing the way that his ears curled the same way hers did, and her heart felt a flicker of hope. "oh-uh-hi! yeah i suppose you could say that. i'm trying to meet my father; my mother says he was from a clan called bearclan. you wouldnt know of it would you?"

He awkwardly sat, his tail flicking as he watched his small clan mingle into the crowd. He looked up at a cat, tipping his head to the side at his head bow. He used a paw to raise it again, and replied, "I'm Troutstar of Venusclan; it is my first gathering as well." he turned back to the crowd. His eyes flicking to where he could see Forestfires cinnamon color pelt as he padded around the area. He turned back to Stratusstar. "Venusclan has only been a clan for three moons," he added, whapping his tail in the air.

indentotterfur felt so at home with fadedsun, and he was momentarily overcome with the feeling of warmth, resonating within him as a type of home that he had never felt before. he beamed broadly and swished his tail across the ground. "of course," otterfur murmured, feeling suddenly shy. "i think you're an amazing cat, fadedsun, and anyone could see that. you're kind, you care about your clan, you have a great sense of humor, and i really am so grateful that we became friends," he said, feeling his pelt flush as the truth spilled out of his mouth. he ducked his head to lap at his chest fur before his eyes widened and he looked up at fadedsun again. "thank you, that's really kind of you to say." otterfur shuffled his paws and straightened up. "i just want to be good for my clan, to be there for my clanmates and my friends."

indentmapleshadow flashed a small, gentle smile and nodded his acknowledgement to brindlebirch's comments. it warmed her heart to know that the queen considered her a friend as well, and mapleshadow reveled contently in their companionship. "that must be hard, i can't imagine. i've never thought of it that way," she admitted. "i've seen a few of my clanmates grow closer after spending time in the nursery, especially when the kits become friends and grow up together, but we don't have any permanent queens in highgarden," she continued. "i can't imagine how that must feel for you, i'm sorry. but i know what you mean. i've never really felt like i fit in with a lot of my clanmates. like our personalities just don't fit together so well. but i do consider you a friend, and i'm grateful for our meeting, even if it was pretty recent."

indenthollandmarch puffed out his chest proudly as katara sighed pleasantly when cedarbranch nuzzled against her. "cougarstrike's definitely going to miss me," hollandmarch said, finally settling down across from katara and cedarbranch. "but now it means that i'll be able to go on patrols. and katara said that i might even see you on patrols if they go near vagaryclan. so, don't worry, i'll be around to bother you instead."
indentkatara purred affectionately. "i told him that i'd even help him set up a den by the border, so he'd never have to miss seeing you on a patrol." hollandmarch nodded enthusiastically to katara's soft laugh. "but i also figured that now he might have a chance to visit you in vagaryclan sometime, if you're not as busy. i'm sure tawnyrose wouldn't mind if riverstar didn't have a problem with it."

indentas ferretwhisker followed her clanmates through the gathering, she kept her eyes wide open, searching for one pelt in particular. through the sea of scents, sounds, and sights, at last, ferretwhisker found several members of bearclan, making her prick her ears curiously. after so many moons in the nursery, it felt good for ferretwhisker to finally be out and able to join the gathering. as much as she loved her kits, there was a freedom in not being tethered to highgarden's camp, and she didn't hesitate to call out her mate's name as soon as she spotted nightfur. "nightfur, over here!" she called, and she bounded over to him without hesitating. when ferretwhisker realized that her mate wasn't alone, she nodded politely to the strangers, flashing a kind smile.

indentquakestone trailed behind her clanmates, glancing around the crowd eagerly in the hopes that she might spot her friend, but she whipped around as soon as she heard her former-name. as soon as quakestone saw oiseaupaw, she grinned and padded forward to meet him, allowing for a brief beat to pass before she leaned forward to touch her nose against his in greeting. "it does feel like it's been so long!" she agreed. "and these past few moons have been crazy, you know? like so much has happened." she glanced around the rest of the crowd before turning back to oiseaupaw. "i was really hoping you'd be here actually. i have some good news! i actually got my full name recently. i'm quakestone now, isn't that cool?"

indentfinn joined the gathering with his usual energy, calling after his sister to follow him, though he knew it was only a matter of time before they lost one another in the tide of the gathering. even still, he knew that vixen was more than capable of taking care of herself, and he knew that cade would likely round them up when squirrelflash decided that it was time for them to return home. however, finn didn't expect for another cat to cross directly into his path, and he bowled directly into them, sending him sprawling sideways, but his blue eyes turned immediately to the ginger cat. "i'm so, so sorry, friend, let me help you," finn said, immediately scrambling to his paws and going to help nudge the other cat up. "i really hope you aren't one of those super-scary warriors, huh? cade said that he'd claw my ears if i started a fight by accident, and i'd really hate to have shredded ears, that doesn't seem like it would be so fun."

indentvixen watched through narrowed eyes as her brother took off through the gathering, racing away and tearing up the ground as he went. she sighed, knowing it would only be a matter of time until cade came dragging finn back and squirrelflash in tow. the last thing their little clan needed was to return back home with an upset cade and a bedraggled finn. so, after waiting several moments without hearing any immediate shouting, vixen decided that she was free to go about her own business, and that was when she happened upon a pretty calico, and she moved over towards her. "it's really nice, huh? i've never seen so many cats before. it's just... it's really crazy to think how many of us clan cats are out there, and it makes me wonder how many of us would ever cross paths without the gatherings."

Loststar took her seat and listened with interest. "What about Marshclan? I hear that the nurseries have grown crowded." Loststar thought for a moment. "Indeed they have. Mocha had her 4 kits recently, along with Shinegaze and her one kit, Daisykit." She paused and looked out into the crowed to see Echosnarl wandering about. "Ah, and Applepaw, Echopaw and Wasppaw have all become warriors. I'm very proud of them." She looked to her paws. "We have had some trouble with food but Starclan has gifted us with around 16 servings of prey, which has come in handy. Otherwise Marshclan has been doing well." She finished and her tail twitched. "How is Goldenfur and his kits doing?"

Clarkpaw snickered. "I'm Clarkpaw!" He chimed. He rose to his paws. "Butterflywing?" Clarkpaw looked to his mentor. The she-cat looked down at him. "Yes Clarkpaw?" "May I go with Locustpaw and help him find his mentor?" Butterflywings eyes lit up. She was very happy to see her apprentice making friends, especially with a Mistyclan cat. "Of course Clarkpaw." She smiled and dismissed him. The two apprentices disappeared into the crowd.

Rustleg wandered through the crowd looking for a spot on the outskirts to settle down when she bumped into a cat that was unfamiliar to her. "My apologies." She said hastily, and dipped her head. "What might your name be?"
