"like" may be the wrong word to describe how I feel, however, I can confirm Nadine and I watched them together and mocked them endlessly the entire time.

Some species are just meant to be special and most of the time used in events to overall have some variety of more common species and some rarer ones. ^^

Once all movies were released, people were still pretty much divided in "likes Twilight" and "hates Twilight", so I watched all movies to find out how bad it actually is.
Let's just say I will definitely never be a Twilight fan...

...Okay, okay, I can actually give a serious answer, too, but the answer would probably still be 'neither' if you cut it short.
Harry Potter was a big part of my childhood. I've always been an avid reader even as a kid, but HP was my first step towards reading longer and more complex stories.
I have a ton of nostalgia for everything surrounding this series. The excitement of reading the first book and wanting more, the almost agonizing wait for the new books to be released, the suspense of not knowing what would happen next... I grew up with this series. Characters from these books became rolemodels to me. My younger self would've picked HP in a heartbeat.

I also read along as the Twilight books came out, courtesy of two friends and a sister who liked them. I don't think these books would ever had stood a fair chance with me, to be honest. Back then I had no interest whatsoever in romance as a genre overall, so even if I'd found the books to be well-written, they'd still have missed my interest.
My memories of reading Twilight mostly boil down to being mildly disappointed by all the actually interesting things the books hinted at existing, but never fully went into because they weren't relevant to the love story.
I always said I'd rather read a series about Carlisle, because his whole backstory is more compelling to me than any of what happens in the actual plot, whoops.

But, back to now. I haven't been a kid or a teenager for... a while now. And I've gained the ability to look at the writing, and the people behind the writing, more critically.
And I cannot, with good conscience, stand behind either of them.
I think disliking Twilight has always been easier for me, because I had no emotional connection to it. It was always easy to point at the series, point out the unsettling amounts of misogyny, abuse and racism, and say 'this shouldn't be supported'.

Harry Potter did mean something to me. So growing up and becoming aware of its own problems with racist and antisemitic stereotyping was rightfully uncomfortable. And finding out that rather than growing from her mistakes, the author has only made herself more and more infamous for adding controversy to her books and her own person... well, yeah, that hurt.
My heart aches, thinking about the fact that an author I admired as a child turned out to be Just Another Bigot. It did feel dramatic to find out about her transmisogyny and overall transphobia. Because of how much the series she wrote had meant to me.

I don't know how to accurately describe what it feels like, now. I'm a bookseller who has to stock this author's titles because my boss would never skip on the guaranteed success of whatever she puts out.
So inevitably, I'll eventually be standing there with her new novel in my hands at work. As a trans person. And try not to feel partially guilty whenever I sell someone a copy.

But, needless to say, knowing how the author feels about me and my friends has significantly curbed my enthusiasm for Harry Potter.

If you could to change one of your staff litter dogs-cats. Would you and if so how would you change it? Why would you want to change it?

If you could do a second dog or cat in a previous color scheme would you want to (or perhaps do one for a color scheme you haden't made one in)

I'd change my first one. I love the concept and its probably my favorite in that department, but there are parts of it I'm also not happy about, there are a few small things I'd change if I could. But overall I'm mostly happy about my GH cats, and staff dog.

If I could pick any pallet to use, probably the GH 2017 pallet again. I really loved the colors on that one and I could think of a lot more cool designs I could do with that. I also really like the staff 2019 pallet though, that would be my second choice.

To be honest, I read all of Twilight and have only finished one Harry Potter book. I was young when I read Twilight but I think that allowed me to just enjoy it for what it was - a mediocre love story about vampires and werewolves - rather than being too critical of it. There are better books out there, and I don't really understand why or how Twilight of all things got so popular, but it really wasn't that bad.

I should probably get around to reading Harry Potter. It is month six of quarantine after all...

      to anyone,
what's the most rewarding thing to you regarding being a staff member?

Knowing that I've been able to help someone and genuinely make a difference to their experience is very rewarding. As an AA I mostly help users recover their accounts when they're locked out, so I'm always really happy when I'm able to help someone come back to CS and recover their pets.

I also really enjoy working behind the scenes because I remember how much things like the Advent Calendar meant to me when I was a young kid rushing up to my room so I could adopt pets everyday at rollover. I hope that I am able to bring that same happiness to others!

I'm here with some more questions!

1 - How do you fantastic artist come up with UR designs? What's the process like? (If I'm allowed to ask that is cx)

2 - (Not really a question lol) I noticed we have some new staff members! Shy is one, I was trading with them before they became a part of staff, and noticed their username went green! Also, Zeena became a Admin Assistant! Congrats ^v^

3 - If you could design a pet or item, what would it be and why?

(I really do like this thread, a great way to familiarize with staff :3)
