> reminder: flush toilets were not popularized until the 1850s. reminder: there is a lot of classic literature published before the 1850s. reminder: oi, academia aesthetic pals? your favorite pre-1850s character/person probably used a chamber pot at some point and there is nothing your feeble minds can do about it, MUAHAHAHAHahHAHAH // i'm sorry to anyone who i called their mind feeble - your mind probably isn't. BUT IT STILL CANNOT CHANGE MY BAD SENSE OF REMINDERS!!!! MUAHAHAHHAHAHA!
v hi do you have any slightly un-fun history/science/literary facts for me? preferably in the same sort of vein as the aforementioned realization i mentioned in >. maybe something fun to me or you but not to anyone else?

I think that pretty much everybody knows this but the ancient Romans used urine as toothpaste! And it might have actually worked because one of the chemicals in urine (i forget which one) can break down plaque
And if you already knew that one, you probably also already knew that the reason there are so few mummies still around is because people would cannibalize them a couple centuries back for medicinal purposes.
I have more so pm me if you're interested
^ I knew that but i have never made that connection in my mind before. thank you.
> and now because i said the thing about mummies sweet bod by lemon demon is stuck in my head-

- it varies, but usually yes. we have a fake christmas tree and several ornaments we pace on said tree. someone will place lights and holiday-related knickknacks in random spots; however, due to an increase of animals, we haven't been able to do that the past couple of years.
^ procrastinating through cs. hey, me too! *sung to the tune of that one song in power rangers* go go procrastinators!
> watching a montage of bill hader breaking character on snl. there are few problems in life (or at least in mine, anyway) that bill hader's laughter won't solve.
v what's on your mind?
