Update on the kitten plus cat situation! We are keeping the kitten pen idea, but since as @Thalassic pointed out the kittens need time to explore, so we've created a separate gate between the essentially two rooms they have available. While we were setting that up my cat has interacted with them while they stayed inside the carrier, and all seemed to be well - barely any growling or hissing on her half (although a lot on the kitten's part ^^") - and although she clearly is kinda miffed about having two new kittens in her home. I.. feel kind of awful about the room separation thing, because the only rooms we had were the kitchen (+outdoors +downstairs toilet, I suppose) and the living room. My existing cat is in the kitchen since it's where all her necessities are but I feel kind of.. awful, taking her entire comfortable room away? I don't know, I feel like she's going to get really jellous as we're using a gate not a door and she'll see us interacting but we'll see how things turn out! Sorry for the slightly nonsensical ramble, as I said I feel pretty bad separating them but it is only temporarily. Hopefully they'll be getting used to eachother quickly!

my cat was recently diagnosed with FIC. she was put on anxiety meds and some other temporary meds. obviously, when giving them to her she makes a fuss and we always reward her after taking her meds. but something that happens after she takes her meds is that our other cat will try play fight with her. is there a reason why she would do this? is her yelling bothering our other cat? i don't think there isn't any danger i just want to know if someone has experienced this too and there's a reason or my cats are just being weird ^^'

THERE'S A POSSUM

my mom thought it was a rat and ran off

I told my parents I thought i saw it move

my dad picks it up and puts it in a box while we call the vet

we bring the possum to the vet ok

vet lady hands the box with the possum in it back to us

i get it a heap of eucalyptus leaves cuz we are aussies

we feed it and then let it go at night and uh im still shocked

a rat came in a month before the possum, we believe the rat tunneled in to the cat cage (underneath it) and came through the cat tunnel into the laundry, any tips on how to find that hole under the cat cage the rat dug?

Could you just lay down something anywhere there's exposed dirt? Like wood or something, should stop anything from digging in.

The only thing I can think of which we use to do with runs to stop anything digging in or out was sink wire along the bottom. Dig a ditch along the bottom about 2 feet down and bury the wire, it stops anything digging under.
Or you can lay wire attached to the run along the edge but that would need to be on the outside to stop the cats hurting themselves on it.

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for making cat-friendly hideouts/sleeping spaces? Mine don't take to traditional cat beds and I don't have enough room for a cat tower or anything of the like, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

is it possible for a domestic shorthair to be a russian blue look-alike?

my kitten is all grey and has "ghost stripes" which are faint stripes that tend to be present on solid color cats & normally fade with age. her eyes are green & yellow but i heard kitten's eye color may change (russian blues are born with yellow eyes & turn green later). she also has mauve paws, which shorthairs normally dont have. she even has a russian blue temperament as she loves to be follow and be around me and is quiet and calm... when shes not burning off her kitten energy at least.
i know she isnt a russian shorthair. she was found as a stray at just 2 months old and was found with what is believed to be her brother, a ginger tabby. but she fits a russian blue perfectly except for the bit of yellow in her eyes! maybe one of her parents was a russian blue.

Hay guy, this is my first time posting in this thread, I just whish it could of been on brighter circumstances. But sadly... I just need a place to post this, so I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

This is my cat Edward, but I call him Eddie for short.
He's a big fluffy boy, who is just a wonderful cat, he used to love playing fetch, and would drool when really happy. You could literally say his name, look at him, or even barley touch him and he'd start purring.
He loves to lick feathers, and eat himself sick on grass.
Most are shocked when they see him because of how much of a big boy he is.

My family adopted him about 10/11 years ago, so hes a pretty old boy now and days.
And sadly this year has taken its toll on him.

I think I've known this for a while now, but it's just been to hard to accept, but the time has come and I need to let him go. I will greatly miss him, more then words can say. But for now I'll take each day as I can. He's been such a great cat, and I'll forever miss the sound of his purr, the beautiful colors of his eyes. And just his overall fluffy bigness.

He's my handsome boy and I love him with all my heart, and he will be missed.

I might take a small break from CS when the time comes, or I might still be active, for the purpose of a discussion, and overall comfort, but I'll just have to see.

old pic, hes got his winter coat now
hi this is my weird fluffy gremlin child, Helix

hes an outdoor cat that we actually adopted from his previous owners!
some people down the street owned him and aparently he never ate or slept at their house because they thought he was dead when we called them (we took him to the vet and they gave us his owner's number)
eventually after a year of taking care of him, his owners let us keep him ^^

we got a dog recently so he doesnt come around much anymore, but we're currently trying to get him comfortable with coming inside
we made some elevated platforms for him, so he'll feel more safe from our dog, and he hopped up on them for the first time today!

hes currently laying on the highest platform on his bed, this is the longest hes been inside and the calmest he's been since we got Jess (our dog)

this is the first time he's slept inside since meeting Jess, up until now hes been sleeping in a bush in our neighbor's front yard : (

anyway i think this post is a little long, so ill end it here

she is 6 years old and she is an idiot child
my cousins stole her from someones garden (not recommended dont steal cats for no reason)
i have a pet folder dedicated to tofu and it involves calico fur pets :)
she is very energetic yet lazy, she knocked down a laundry basket today so she is Very STronk (it was full ... the clean up was painful)
she rips all her toys to shreds. i bought her a rainbow toy mouse and it was made out of this string wrapped around this plastic form and she managed to rip the string off of it. its still attached but the mouse is naked now
her favorite toys are worm on a string. she has killed 2 of them
she greets everyone that visits by squeaking.... or staring at them
she doesnt show affection that much but she is very clingy and misses me a lot when im gone for school or work . sometimes she starts screaming because i went to the store for 10 minutes
