Name: Portgas D. "Fire-Fist" Ace (commonly just goes by Ace)
Age: 20
Gender: Male

Personality: Ace is determined to a fault, and will never back down from a challenge or fight, even when he REALLY should. His pride tends to interfere with logical thinking some of the time, and he can be a bit impulsive on occasion. He’s relatively polite upon first meeting, though this is often meant in a sarcastic way. Ace is not oblivious to his own strength and abilities, and utilizes them well, with much self-control when a situation calls for it.

Ace enjoys lighthearted conversation and joking from time to time, and is incredibly protective of his family. He will throw himself in the way gladly for a friend or family member without a second thought. Ace is courageous, he doesn’t let his fear show on the surface if he can help it, and stands tall before enemies. Ace can be a little cold from time to time, and he is definitely is more of a 'tough love' than softhearted kind of person, but that doesn’t in any way mean he DOESN'T care. Ace is supportive in his own way, and he definitely had his soft moments. Ace can be a bit of a daredevil from time to time, more for the thrill than anything serious, and he enjoys lighthearted events; Especially if said events include the chance to eat.

Ace has some issues, to put it kindly. He’s aggressive, he's easily sidetracked, not to mention bouts of narcolepsy, but he does his best not to let it bother him. Ace can be aggressive at times, and he’s not afraid to show it, but he’s not cruel. In fact, quite the opposite, he TRIES to be good to (most) people when he can afford to, but ultimately, survival comes first. Ace is the definition of a 'free spirit', he doesn’t like to be bound down to anyone or anything, he wants to be able to change with the wind. The only people he’s ever dedicated to were his brothers, Sabo and Luffy, and his captain, Whitebeard, and he stands by them with a fierce loyalty. Ace goes with the flow, and takes advantage of every opportunity life throws at him.


History: (someone correct me if I’m wrong.) Ace is the son of the late Pirate King Gol D. Roger, and his lover, Portgas D. Rouge. A little more than a year before his birth, his father was executed, and his mother carried him an extensively long time to protect him, and died almost immediately after childbirth. Ace was raised by Monkey D. Garp, the Vice-Admiral of the Marines, and at age 10 met Sabo, and Monkey D. Luffy, whom he called his brothers.

When he was seventeen, he set out to become a pirate, and sailed with both a crew of his own, the Spade Pirates, and later with the Whitebeard Pirates, where he climbed the ranks quickly to become one of the most trusted and renowned pirates of the crew. He viewed Edward Newgate "Whitebeard" as a father figure of sorts through this time, and as his only father figure, having renounced the heritage of Roger.

Rank: I'm not actually sure...he jumps around a lot. Seems to maintain a position as a first-mate of sorts.

Appearance: Ace is a tall and QUITE muscular young man, standing at 6'1, with messy, wavy brownish black hair that goes down to his neck and never cooperates. His eyes are a dark brownish green, and he had freckles dotting his face.

Okay, just two things then. You said you can grab stuff with his tail. If he has a tail, what’s his race? And I can see that the Devilfruit actually pairs in to both Paramecia and Logia, so what you’re describing seems primarily Logia-based, that he can control fire of some sort?

Aa please excuse me if I'm overstepping any boundaries but @:Ginger: you could make him a fishman of some sort? (I think a blue glaucus might be fitting) That way you could keep the tail/poison abilities and the Logia type devil fruit abilities! The only downside would be that you couldn't use any fishman abilities or powers that deal with water because of your DF, but that means it will change next to nothing about your character's overall powers/appearance!

Sorry if you're not interested, your character is super cool as is so I just thought that might be a neat option if you wanted to keep both the poison and the flames! ^^

Name: Nyx Sardothia
Age: 20
Gender: Female

Personality: Nyx is brave and unafraid to speak her mind and stand up for herself and what she believes in. She likes to have fun when she can, and carries herself with an air of authority around the crew. Enough to keep them without coming off as harsh.

Nyx can be a risk-taker when she needs to be, but she doesn’t go out of her way to find trouble. She generally has a calm and collected disposition, but when her temper flares, it takes quite some time to calm her down again. She likes to have fun and joke around, and is fairly friendly when she doesn’t have to assert her authority.

Nyx likes to help where she can, she likes to make herself valuable to her friends and crewmates, and serves with loyalty, determination, and dedication to her captain and crew. She may or may not be a little bit of a flirt. Most of the time she is friendly unless given reason to not be.

History: Nyx was born in Alubarna. Until she consumed the Mizu-Mizu no Mi, her life was pretty uneventful. Once she became a Devilfruit user, her newfound abilities freaked out her parents, who screamed at her for weeks and panicked around her, shouting, calling names, cursing her, before finally disowning her. In anger and frustration, Nyx fled to become a pirate and set sail, far from Alubarna. She joined up one day with the Calm Belt Pirates and became their first-mate, and she sails with them to this day.

Name: Monkey D. "Straw-Hat" Luffy
Age: 17
Gender: Male

Personality: Luffy is rather immature for his age, having the mentality of a child rather than that of a young man. He’s very energetic, impulsive to a fault, and curious, and more often than not, this mixture leads to trouble. He is...not the sharpest tool in the shed, to put it kindly, and often writes off things he doesn’t understand- even after they’ve been explained- as 'magic'. He has a short attention span for serious topics, and enjoys lighthearted fun and adventure above all else.

Luffy is determined and fiercely loyal. His crew are more than just allies, they’re his friends, his family, and he likes it that way! His stomach is practically a bottomless pit- likely due to being rubber- and he has no inside voice, nor understanding of the words "no" and "quiet". Luffy often gets knocked around by his crewmates, but that doesn’t affect his opinion of them. As far as Luffy is concerned, if someone is an overall good person, then that’s that. Luffy values his friends and family more than anything in the world, but a close second to that is dreams, be they his own or someone else's, Luffy understands the importance of having and fighting for one's dream.

Luffy is completely fearless on the surface, a mix of impulse, craving adventure, and various emotions. He is confused by very basic concepts and things, and doesn’t have the memory to retain information about how things work most of the time. He gets bored easily, and likes things that seem a bit out of place, like, for example, the doctor his crew: A talking reindeer. Luffy can be depending on a situation either incredibly greedy (especially when it comes to food) or completely selfless, for the sake of a friend or family member. Luffy would never stand by and watch his loved ones get hurt needlessly, though he does understand that there are some battles that aren’t his to fight.

Luffy isn’t easily irritated, and likes to look on the bright side of...everything, really. He likes people who can do the same. He wears his heart of his sleeve and doesn’t mask what he thinks or feels. He can be very blunt and straightforward, and isn’t afraid to just be himself. Luffy has a kind heart, and he’s curious and compassionate... even if he dislikes thinking, and declared thinking makes him sick. Luffy tries to inspire the people around him, and manages to do so even when he’s NOT trying sometimes. He’s naturally a likeable fellow, with an innocent, cheerful view on the world around him, and on the people that inhabit it. He'll never back down from a fight unless he deems it to be useless either way, and he'll never abandon a friend in need.

Luffy is reckless and will laugh in the face of danger. He doesn’t like to take much seriously, and has a bad habit of being known for holding a grudge. He is almost always smiling or laughing at something or other, and is a fast thinker. That said, not all his ideas are SMART. Luffy is a bad actor and cannot hold a straight face, no matter how hard he tries, which often gets in the way.

Luffy is bold and confident, able to stand by and live with the decisions he makes. He stands up for what he believes in, and won’t back down. Luffy can be quite aggressive from time to time, despite his overall goofy nature, and more often than not acts on this. Despite his confidence, he’s quite humble in comparison to some, and dislikes taking credit much of the time.

Luffy never knew much about his parents. He never cared either. He was raised by his paternal grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, alongside his (foster...? I don’t remember if they’re blood related...) brother Ace. From a young age, Luffy had sought adventure and freedom, and wished to become the king of the pirates!

After much wishing and dreaming, when Luffy turned 16, he set sail with his own crew, a small selection of hand-picked allies... and whoever else came along. He has no exact destination, nor does he even know exactly what it is he’s looking for, aside from 'The One Piece' that nobody has ever seen. Honestly it seems 99% of the time he’s just out for kicks.

He has little visible muscle, likely due to the rubber effect. He wears a red vest at all times, as well as his blue shorts, sandals, and of course, his signature straw hat.
