Lunch went by feeling quite fast for Cole's taste - heh, pun, he was brightened up a bit by his thinking of that, - and now that he and his Kricketot were fed, the two joined Voltsy and his Shinx in going to the next class. Upon arrival, Cole would try to take a seat by Voltsy. He hoped he wasn't coming off as too clingy but it hadn't crossed his mind to try and approach anyone else in these classes.

As Gailie saw a few more students file in, Mauve got a bit restless and started scratching the edge of the Pokéball. He wanted to be out same as all the other pokemon, but he was too big to be loose in a classroom. She glanced around - all the other pokemon were safely small enough to be out. She patted the grumbling Doduo, turning her attention back to Mr. Forge.
While a few more students filed in, he checked his attendance chart and counted heads, most everyone was here now. "Well, since it seems like most everyone is here, why don't we start a bit? I am Mr. Forge, the abilities teacher. How about someone tell me your Pokémon's ability?"

Azazel raised his hand at that, directing Izanami away from the edge and closer to the center of his desk. "My litwick's ability is 'Infiltrator'. It's rare for a litwick to have it --" Izanami puffed herself up a bit, flame briefly flickering higher, and he rolled his eyes at the pokemon's dramatics, "but it allows her to bypass the effects of moves like safeguard or reflect."

Aysel raised her hand. Upon being called she answered " My Rattata's ability is Thick Fat. It helps resist fire and icr type moves." Chewy squeaked, she looked at him. "That's probably why he eats so much." she said, taking note that she'll have to clean the mess of paper shreds he was leaving on the desk.
Oh, when the end has come around
Oh, when the world has let you down
And there's nothing to keep you going...
And all your dreams have come to pass-
You never knew life went so fast
Now you see everybody...

Gailie was trying to pay attention, but Mauve was shaking the pokeball in annoyance. She tried to hold the ball steady, only for it to continue shaking.
"Yes, that is also correct." He told her, nodding. He wrote 'Thick Fat - protects against Ice- and Fire-type moves' next to his previous ability, and below that, 'Alolan Rattata's hidden ability.' "These are both examples of what we call hidden abilities, which are rare abilities found for some Pokémon. For example, that Rattata would typically have the ability Gluttony or Hustle. There are some ways to get a hidden ability, breeding a Pokémon, which is the most obvious way, with the hidden ability could result in the offspring having it. If you happen to find a horde, which are quite dangerous to new gym leaders such as yourself, they could have a hidden ability. If anybody remembers the 'Dynamax' Pokémon from the Galar Region, they have a chance of hidden abilities as well. Your best bet is finding a breeder who specializes in these hidden ability Pokémon."

Astrid looked up to see her fellow classmates leaving the lunchroom. “Oh, finally!” Astrid beamed as she ran up to Pyro who in turn jumped with glee. “Oop, sorry if I cut your drawing short Sakura!” She said as she grabbed his little hand. Pyro huffed as he was dragged to the next class. He gave a quick goofy wave to Bulb.
Astrid burst into class and quickly took a seat next to Aysel, and dumped her notebooks onto her desk. She looked up at the board, and quickly scribbled down the hidden abilities into her notebook. She tried her best not to giggle at the ability name “Thick Fat.”

Aysel wrote down hidden abilities in her notebook. Chewy was neary done with his paper. She pulled out one of his three remaining pokeblocks, giving him one. He squeaked joyfully. Aysel picked him up and put her onto her shoulder. Scraping her hand over the desk, her other hand on the end, catching the paper shreds. She put them in a small pocket in her backpack. As to not make more of a mess. Sje placed Chewy back onto the now clean desk. He looked around, tail twitching slightly.

As another student walked in, her Charmander caught his eye. "Ah, yes," Mr. Forge said, nodding. "A Charmander, a fine show of what I call the 'starter' abilities. These Pokémon, who are given to trainers at the start of their journey, typically contain a type of ability relating to their type." He jotted down 'Starter Abilities - Blaze' on the chalkboard. "Blaze would be the usual ability for Charmanders and other fire-type starter Pokémon. The ability powers up fire-type moves when the pokemon is in trouble, though the type is substituted for grass or water type when applicable. Can anybody else tell me the name of another starter ability? How about you, young man?" He asked, turning to Voltsy.
