Introduction to Pawnem

Welcome to the thread of the Cats of Pawnem, a Hunger Games themed Warrior’s roleplay. I am President Saturn, and I am here to be your informant and guide. In this roleplay, there are districts of cats that specialize in different careers. Each district offers up two cats to compete in the Games to claim victory for their district. The district that wins gets all the spoils and riches that will support their survival, provided by the Capital. Will you fight to deem your district victorious and recieve the supplies your people need to live?

Rules of the Pawnem Hunger Games

1. Be kind, considerate, and fair to each other and me.
2. Do not power play, you may not control other player’s cats, create big events like earthquakes, or have magical powers.
3. Keep your characters as realistic as possible, no unordinary fur colors or wings. You may add in extra toes or deformities that aren’t too excessive. Allow your character to have flaws as well, no Mary Sue characters.
4. As per CS rules, please keep the description of violence to a PG level. This is a Hunger Games roleplay and there will be violence, however don’t use overly excessive gore.
5. Also, as per the Hunger Games theme, romance will be limited as well. There may be crushes and flirting in the roleplay, there are no strict rules against the romance however because of the theme, focus more on trying to survive the Games. LGBTQ+ friendly.
6. If you have ideas for any events during a roleplay (i.e. an earthquake, , etc.) please pm me beforehand so I can approve it.
7. Semi-literate/literate responses only. Use parentheses to talk out of character, and use quotation marks when your character is talking. Do not use asterisks or text speech. Anyone who uses these will be removed.
8. There is allowed two winners of the Games, provided both are from the same district. The Capital will not allow two cats of the two different districts to win, one must die.
9. Code Word is Saturn.
10. If you plan to change your username, please pm me beforehand so I may adjust the details for your character.
11. I reserve the right to accept or decline any sign up for any reason. This also goes for removing any players/characters from the roleplay who do not follow the rules. Negotiations are accepted, pm me, as long as they stay civilized, I am willing to be flexible.

When the Districts divide in the beginning, each agreed that they would all work together in order to thrive. Each chose an industry to work to provide the country with what it needed. But when the Capital was formed, almost immediately it rose to become a monarch-like figure above the districts. Most of the resources each district needed were withheld by the Capital and used to create a dependence, forcing the districts to submit to the power of the Capital.

District One - Luxury
The cats of this district create luxury items for the Capital, and are somewhat favored by them. They often get sponsors from the start, but their chances of survival are only as good as their skill.

District Two - Masonry
The cats that live here are expertly skilled with weapons, manufacturing weapons, trains, etc. They usually support the Capital and are also a favored district.

District Three - Technology
The cats here specialize in electronics and mechanical engineering. They are semi-good with weapons as well, however are more useful with support items.

District Four - Fishing
The cats in district four are fishers, bringing in local food to ship to other districts or the Capital. They are capable of sustaining themselves with minimal resources, provided there is water nearby.

District Five - Power
This district’s main function is to provide power and electricity to all districts and the Capital. They are highly skilled in electronic technology alongside District three, and they are also favored by the Capital.

District Six - Transport
The cats in District six often travel to other districts to offer transportation services via train. They are able to move quicker and are usually more elusive that other districts, and are deemed more rebellious for this reason.

District Seven - Lumber
The cats in this district are powerful-looking and strong, distribute lumber resources among the country. They are very skilled with stealth and forest-living, spending much of their time in the shelter of trees.

District Eight - Textiles
These cats are skilled with clothing production, and often create uniforms for peacekeepers or Capital members. They distribute lesser clothing for the districts, and often practice fashioning traps.

District Nine - Grain
The cats of this district are experts in tending crops, growing food, and cooking. They are able to thrive on rationed food, and start fires for warmth and cooking.

District Ten - Livestock
District ten cats provide fresh meat to the Capital and the other districts. They know how to hunt and raise animals, and are very stealthy and strong, and are able to protect themselves with minimum supplies.

District Eleven - Argiculture
The cats in this district are raised to identify different species of plants and animals that are safe to eat or dangerous. They are able to survive by navigating to water sources, although they are not skilled in combat.

District Twelve - Mining
The cats in district twelve are more looked down upon. They are highly functioned to mine precious metals, and distribute it accordingly. They are strong-built cats, but aren’t well-trained to fight.

Sponsor Information and Resources

Sponsors are an important helpful way to make sure that you stay alive during the games, giving you an extra boost by sending in special gear or supplies to increase your chances of survival. All district competitors will get the chance to meet with and gain sponsors during a special dinner in the middle of the week of training. Be sure to look and act your best to try and win a sponsor, they will be observing you carefully for the entire week!

Alliances

Although the Hunger Games is all about self-preservation and sole survival, alliances can be a helpful tactic to use when in the Games. During the training week before the game begins, watch your fellow competitors closely, you might find that they have skills that could help both of you. If you are friendly enough, maybe they will agree to join your team and help you advance in the games. Just beware, because it is possible they will turn on you!
