I'm really sorry but it is worth the 3 month rule / 2 '09 rares / an '09 very rare within 3 months of the pets original release date-

The 3 month rule is basically trading a pet for any other pet from the same species and rarity, but within 3 months of the release of the pet.

Ex;
Trading a rare 2010 dog from March for a rare 2010 dog from January
Or
Trading a common 2012 rat from September for a common 2012 rat from November.
