Lucas paused, contemplating his reply. "I give a knowing nod and say "It happens to us all. I will offer you a proverb: Guttulis aequalis saliva lacrimam; saliva can be worth just as much as tears. Out of character, don't ask me what that means, Lazarus said it once and it stuck with me and it's Inamonthian Latin, so it's definitely a bit different from the Latin I learned in what was my world and might be something you knew from your worlds, so..."
"Lucas," Lazarus said, "you need to learn to use your context clues! When did I say that last?"
"You were sleepwalking and you said it in my direction in a very ominous manner and I woke you up because I thought you were being possessed by some sort of dream entity that was all too aware that I had been drooling in my sleep that night... despite it being hard to tell because I was wadded up in multiple blankets."
"Well? What does that tell you?"
"Nothing."
Lazarus sighed. "I refuse to explain it to the likes of you, Lucas."
"Whatever. Uh, back to the game, I spot some of the water out of my peripheral vision and give Three a notion that it's there and... Oh, Platform? Is it okay if I declare the outside weather as rainy? It just feels right as a theme of... whatever's going on at this masquerade."
"Approved."
"It's a dark and stormy night, hah!" Lazarus said. "Great!"
"Oh- and I scoot one tile away to leave Three with the someone ominous proverb and reminder," Lucas said, ending his turn.
DVS started his turn, only to be told of a random event he was stuck with.
"You must go to the bathroom."
"...But it's flooding. And there's a ferret and someone else in there. And it's probably locked. Do you mean this literally, or not literally? Because if it's not literal, whatever, I can handle myself and I'm rolling anyways."
"Are you making this a supplementary goal?" Lazarus asked.
"What?"
"Y'know, supplementary goals! They effect the game and I think you get bonus points if you manage to go through with them successfully... It's typical rules to not mention them to newbies until someone thinks up something that could work as a goal based on gameplay. And it's gotta be based on gameplay- not anything out of character, like if I was trying to just hunt down Lucas's character because they're Lucas's character. If I was hunting down Lucas's character because they invoked some sort of in character, interaction-acted suspicion in my character, then that'd maybe be allowed. The Platform knows intentions."
"This would be allowed as a supplementary goal. It will effect your gameplay."
DVS gave a tense glance to the Platform. "Fine. I'll take it, and a roll, thank you. I hope I don't end up regretting this. I don't even know the parameters.
"5," the Platform said, answering no questions.
DVS moved his mask piece to the stairway leading to the mezzanine, finding he could probably just interact with Lazarus's character if anything. "I end my turn without doing anything of note."
Bon Voidage was holding back laughter from the two amusing events that had just happened. "I don't even need a number, I'm cheesing myself back into this position."
"Odd number. You would be one tile away if you went back and forth."
"Close enough," Bon Voidage said, moving her piece on the other tile of the bathroom. "I prepare some... character specific equipment! Do I need to say what it is?"
"THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT YOU DO. REVEALING DOESN'T DO TOO MUCH USUALLY ANYWAYS," Lucdust spelled.
"Mm," Bon Voidage replied. "I am preparing portable reanimation equipment. And also attempting to open a hole in the roof since it's stormy out. Aftershock skips my next movement turn though. I can still interact, so... uh, can I retcon that into having been in an interaction with Scorpius?"
"No," the Platform said.
"Darn. Alright, my turn's over."
[[Oh boy I've just slapped more things into this game,,,]]
