i've been um-ing and ah-ing over either: A. rehashing my dog lana's aviator outfit from last year which i veryyy much enjoyed writing the story for or B. doing a certain beloved tim burton ragdoll character for my lolo this year! here's the two costumes i'm choosing between:




i would love to do a sally dress up this year as shes a classic and i've never done her before but i feel that she isn't very recognisable atm at all and that's my biggest fear with lolo, people having no idea who my character is meant to be aha. i would really appreciate any tips or item suggestions (maybe a more raggedy style of dress? i had a look in the store and couldn't really find anything sadly) i could go on a hunt for too help me out with making her look a bit less ronald mcdonald and a bit more sally lol

im currently sketching out a cute bust of my trick or treater to include in my story! i think its a nice way to add some pizzaz to the storys appearance. :) plus its super fun drawing my lil trick or treater hehe

Hey, everyone! I found LOLO through some boredom forum digging, and decided I might want to join! It seems so exiting and fun!
I have two pets that I've half-dressed up, seeing as I don't have many items that would really work.

The PPS is a garden fairy, and the wolf a dragon! Not too sure if they're both good enough.. any opinions or suggestions? <3

Other than that, I'll say it again: really exited to try to participate this year!!

This is just my personal opinion as a lolo mod, other team members may have a slightly different opinion! I personally wouldn't accept either of these, because they're both more-so just a few accessories rather than a complete costume. For the PPS kitten, I would recommend adding a dress, and maybe some sort of head accessory such as a flower crown. As for the dog, I'm honestly not quite sure what to recommend to make it more dragon-like, maybe someone else can think of something more to add?

Also, if you don't have enough to make a full costume, keep in mind that once early apps open in a few days (Sept. 15th), there are a couple users who give out free costume items to users who need them! More info about that can be found on the main thread if you'd like check it out, just remember that you're not allowed to ask for them until applications open on the 15th ^^

I agree they could both use something extra. The are both a little difficult since there isn't much in the way of fairy type clothing that fits PPS cats, and since the dog is a unique lineart there isn't much clothing at all that will fit them.

For the cat I'd suggest maybe one of the cape items at the bottom of this page, those still look alright on PPS cats. I also agree with the crown idea, a flower crown of some kind would be a nice addition, there are some of those from various events, or could make your own with flower items. For the dog, maybe some of the scales from the bottom of this page, there are also some horns from that halloween further up that page which should help as well. Shamelessly suggesting my own items lol. There are some dragon fur items here as well, and there should be a few different fang items floating around from different halloweens.

Overall our usual rule of thumb is at least 3 items at actively help the pet look like what they are dressing as. Of course that number can vary to be more or less depending on the pet or dressup, but its a good starting point. In this case I really only see one for each (the wings). The jewelry and flowers are good extras, but don't really help them look specifically more like a fairy or dragon.

I'd suggest looking through that items you do have and see what fits, and if you don't have what you need look for some trades. If you still need some more, as mentioned after early apps open on the 15th you can also ask some people who are giving away items (on the 'costume help' post on the main thread). I'm one of those people and I have most of the items I mentioned above that I can give if needed.
