Her red hair appearing like fire was dancing upon her head while it bounced with each step she took. The cool autumn air kissed her cheeks and pinkened them as her warm breath left white clouds in the air. She was late as always....
What a coven leader.... she reprimanded herself. While it was the role she never asked for it was the role she was given after the last leader was murdered in a freak car accident. Her powers manifested into something she could never imagine, which unfortunately made her into the chosen one, and as the chosen one she decided to give the town a little extra surprise this year.....ANND SHE WAS LATE FOR IT!
When she finally made it to the house, she flung the gate open with a flick of her hand and shut it with a snap. Quickly she entered the house. To her surprise... it was quiet. Too quiet. Her brow furrowed in disdain before quickly softening.
Maybe she was not late after all... or if she was, it would not look so bad on her if everyone else was late too.... she thought. Quickly, she made her way down the stairs from the living room into the dark basement.
Their pentagram burned a bright red with her presence. It knew she was here, but given by the fact that it laid dark before her arrival, she knew she was alone. Making her way over to the desk, she grabbed the goat skull and placed it in the center of the pentagram before going back over to their cabinet of curiosities. Over the first few days of the festival she had gathered bits and pieces off of all the creatures they planned on playing with this fall.
Looking over the specimens, she smirked as she pulled them one by one. A long lock of blonde hair from the vampire doll they had displayed in the corn maze. A few bits of straw, from the scarecrow in the pumpkin patch. A fang from the devilishly handsome vampire in the mirrored maze. A long tuff of brown fur from the werewolf in the arts and crafts display room. Finally, another tuff of black fur from the werewolf just outside the main gates.
One by one she carefully set them on each point of the pentagram, eagerly awaiting the others to join her....
