She looked at him curiously as she stated her name again "Don't know if that was a compliment or not but thank you." she said with a small laugh. Taking note that he relaxed at the mention of her also being a deputy. She smiled glad to be having a conversation with a cat within her rank. "Honestly I'm surprised I even found the gathering area. This is my first one and my leader couldn't join." she said tail twitching slightly thinking of how she had to figure out the way without her leader. Luckily she brought Turtlerush with who had come to a gathering before so she was very helpful.

Medicine Cat | She-cat | 38 moons
Scanning the gathered cats she attempted to spot one that could be a fellow medicine cat. She noticed a fellow she-cat that she thought looked knowledgeable and maybe a medicine cat. Taking a chance she walked up to her "Hello there," she started ", I'm Poppypool medicine cat of Sloughclan. How are you?" she finished off her sentence.

The small she-cat walked into the gathering with very wide eyes. Scared that her former life of being looked down on would come back to haunt her. Though grateful for Sloughclan as they took her in and having noticed her 'short' comings don't affect her at all. She didn't have must hope in the cats at the gathering to be as kind to her.

Turtlerush decided to be brave for once in her life and walked up to another cat. Hoping to start a conversation with them "H-hello! I'm Turtlerush." she said now embarrassed that she faltered at the start of her sentence. Great way to start off a first impression... she thought to herself looking down at her paws for a moment. Tail flicking as her anxiety set back in afraid to look back at the cat she spoke too.

The leader smiled as she listened to the cats she was now in a conversation with. "Nice to meet you all. I'm glad everyone at the gathering is so kind." she purred happily to them. However, she felt a pair of eyes on her but she pushed it to the back of her mind. Knowing that it was Eeltooth who was very protective of her. "I am doing rather good actually, how about you Froststar?" she said answering the other she-cat's question.

A smirked formed on Amberpool's face as he looked around the gathering. Rather excited to meet some other medicine cats and other cats in general. Wanting to learn from them how they interact with the cats they live with. Knowing that not all groups must be like his own due to the amount of them that seem to be at this gathering.

Eeltooth huffed, staying at the edge of the gathering, hoping to keep an eye on Bluebellcrown. Though he never doubted her as his Queen, he still feared she would overwork herself. So he wanted to make she wasn't too worn out from the travel to the gathering. Plus, he wasn't too fond of being around cats outside of the court. He came along merely to please his Queen as she wanted him to join her.

Mourningdove wasn't fully paying attention to her surroundings so she ran straight into another cat. Quickly she took a couple of steps back "Oh my! I'm so sorry!" she said looking at the cat in front of her. "Are you alright? I didn't hurt you did I?" she asked worried that she possibly injured the cat. Granted she completely forgot to introduce herself in the chaos that this situation has become.

Mousepetal gulped nervously before walking in. As Hailstar had recently broken his leg, he was unable to attend this gathering. And with Cloudbreeze staying behind to look after him, she was the only high-ranking cat here. It was up to her to look after her clan, which was, in fact, making her a tad nervous. She hoped she would make a good impression.

Ice Cream inclined his head at the other tom. "No, it's free. I'm Ice Cream, deputy of Cocoaclan. Who are you? This is my first gathering."

Groundpaw: (Tags: Looking for an apprentice friend, was told about Toast)
Groundpaw hung by Ice Cream for a moment, until her mentor gave the nod that she could go socialize with other cats her age. Her eyes scanned the crowd, looking for the one Moonpie and Pizzastar had described, the one named Toast who lived nearby.

Tealeaf: (Tags: Other medicine cats, Poppypool: Sloughclan )
Making sure Creampaw was safe, and nodding as she saw her apprentice talking to another young cat, Tealeaf was surprised at this cat who approached her. She swallowed the yelp of surprise and smiled. "I'm Tealeaf of Cocoaclan! I am doing quite well, how about yourself?"

Creampaw smiled at the other apprentice. "I'm from Cocoaclan! What about you?"
She then turned and her eyes widened at the number of medicine cats. Privately, she was glad, because if anyone got hurt, there would be plenty of help.

Cookies'n'Cream: (Tags: Other warriors, Open)
Following her new clan members, Cookies'n'Cream scanned the gathering before sniffing long and hard. This group of cats had a wonderful assortment of smells, from prey and daisies to pine trees and salt water. She flicked her tail and started wandering, hoping someone would come talk to her.

As the molly ran into them, Barkbrush started. She'd run directly into his biggest burn scar and it stung, but she looked so guilty. "No, no! I'm fine! Are you okay? I'm Barkbrush by the way, you ran into me with such enthusiasm!"
They cocked their head and sat down so the molly would feel more at ease.

She inclined her head at the new molly. "I'm Forest's Heart, it's a pleasure to meet you! I've never been here before, but it's intriguing to see all the cats together. Where are you from?"

"I'm so sorry if I startled you, just thought you appeared to be a fellow medicine cat." she said apologetically to the other cat. Mentally cursing herself if she found out this cat wasn't actually a medicine cat. Knowing in all honesty that you can't fully tell a cats rank purely by their looks.

The short cat was finding it difficult to look around due to all the cats. Most of which were far larger than she is. Causing her to stand on her two back legs to peer around. Though another cat soon brushed next to her knocking her over and straight on to another cat. "AAA! Oh my I'm sorry!" she said quickly getting up off the other cat. Completely embarrassed at this point and knowing she will be told off. Most likely then asked why would she even be here if she can't look around properly.

"O-oh I'm The Knight dove of mourning of Viridian Court, but you can call me Mourningdove." she said trying to calm herself down. Seeing the tom sit down she loosed her tensed muscles and sat down as well. Letting out a sigh of relief that he wasn't upset with her. "I'm sorry this is my first gathering, well the first one ever for Viridian Court. I honestly don't know how things work around here." she said with a sheepish smile on her face.

As stealthy as her name implied, Maddersneak kept herself in the shadows. She saw Raptorstar, hanging around the edges as well; at least she wasn't alone in her dissatisfaction of the large crowd. Perhaps if someone came to the edge, she'd talk, but she had little interest in forcing herself into the thick of the cat crowd.

Snowybranch's heart gave a jolt as the cat - no, not just a cat, his father! - formally introduced himself. "Ah, it's... so nice to finally meet you. Well, meet you again, I suppose," Snowybranch joked lightly, a smile crossing his face. Despite the happy occasion, his heart gave a pang of longing. It should be Duskwillow here to see Lechwehorn, not Snowybranch... "My mother died bravely," he finally said, closing his eyes briefly. "She didn't speak of you often as I got older, mostly because I was too busy training, and I didn't realize my time with her would be cut so short... but she mentioned how different your clan is. A desert? I can't imagine living there... But you and my siblings probably think the same of us, living on a Thunderpath."

Cicadapaw laughed brightly, nudging at Sunwhisker's legs with her paws. "Oh, there's definitely a lot of mud stuck on your leg," she said gravely, pointing at a patch of darker fur. "All four of them, actually! And your face... and your back... oh no! And your tail!" Cicadapaw pulled her face into that of mock horror for only a few seconds before she was unable to keep up her facade, breaking down into more laughter. "Seriously, though, mud? I would hate that! Though, I guess it wouldn't really stand out on my brown fur, so that would be a plus," Cicadapaw mused, smiling. "Knowing my luck, though, I'd probably get stuck and all my littermates would just leave me out in the sun! Do you get stuck in it often? I feel like you must if it's deep! Though maybe it isn't deep at all..." Cicadapaw found herself talking very fast, though she didn't stop. She was having too much fun talking to this cat. [/b]

"Hello, Sparrowstar," Scorchstar answered, blinking at the many cats that seemed to gather around Bluebellcrown. He finally felt at ease at a gathering, something that hadn't happened in his many moons of leading the clan.

Dipping his head in respect towards the other two leaders, Scorchstar let out a quiet sigh as he contemplated how to answer Froststar's question. "Been a bit of trouble with dogs recently in our territory truthfully, so Shiningclan hasn't been faring as well as I would have hoped - though I'm hoping that saga of life is behind us now. It's a battle we haven't been able to win yet." Truth, Scorchstar decided, would be better. Again, he waited patiently for the others to share before he cut in, smiling as Bluebellcrown answered Froststar.

Slatefang stayed quiet for a few moments, letting a breeze wash over her pelt. She found herself wishing Lily could be a part of Shiningclan, to be another she could confide in besides her sister or Timberleaf... But she was deputy now. She could come back each gathering, hoping to see Lily. As Timberleaf talked of Bluepaw, she couldn't help but reflect on her own apprentice. "I'm just glad I was given a calm apprentice. Turtlepaw has been nothing but gentle and patient, thank the stars. Kits are... not my favorite things to deal with," Slatefang shook her head slowly.

indentotterfur watched from the edge of the clearing as the highgarden patrol broke away from one another, with the others seeking out their friends and family members from other clans. for a moment, anticipation and hope threatened to lock his paws to the ground, but otterfur managed to regain his composure and allow his longing to see a certain medicine cat to settle into a low simmer. all the same, he couldn't help himself but follow merlinsong's lead in the direction of the other healers. and there was a wave of warmth that spiraled from his chest the moment otterfur spotted fadedsun, and otterfur called out to him: "hey stranger, what are the odds you'd be here?" he asked teasingly. he dared to bound over to the other tom, and he leaned forward to touch his nose to fadedsun's in greeting. a voice at the back of otterfur's head told him to be careful as to not seem too eager, but there was no staunching the way he felt indescribably giddy each time his path crossed with fadedsun's, making him feel like he was back in his youth once again. "i was hoping to find you. merlinsong said that he wasn't sure, since surely vagaryclan cats have better things to do than gossip with me all day but... what does he know, anyway? i don't think he's ever even talked to a vagaryclan cat."

indentfrom the moment mapleshadow was given the signal to disperse from her clanmates, mapleshadow didn't even hesitate to watch for the rest of highgarden before padding off in the familiar direction where she had the chance to meet with brindlebirch at the last gathering. of course, there was the lingering worry that her friend had been caught up in something else and hadn't been able to make the gathering, but mapleshadow knew that there was only one way to find out. sure enough, mapleshadow was more than pleased to find brindlebirch's familiar form resting in the shade of the trees, and she didn't hesitate to go over to greet her. "hey, bindlebirch, it's so good to see you again. it's been too long," mapleshadow said happily. "one of these days we'll have to meet on the border. it's not nearly so far of a walk. i swear that starclan likes to put the gathering clearing further and further from highgarden every single moon. at this rate, i'm going to walk my paws off to be here."

indentdippernose couldn't help but grin despite himself, feeling more than giddy while in leopardheart's presence. "it's easy to flatter someone as lovely as you, my dear." when leopardheart agreed to join him, dippernose squared his shoulders and grinned, more than happy to have the company of an old friend. "it has been a while, hasn't it? so, allow me to be selfish and to take up your time. the other deputies can kit-sit themselves, i'm sure. we can hope that the gathering doesn't fall apart without your endless wisdom, o rootclan deputy." there was a teasing light in the knight's eyes, and he felt light on his toes as they began to walk the length of the clearing, passing a number of new faces as they went.
indentas leopardheart began to speak, recalling the most recent events in rootclan, dippernose settled happily into the tones of her voice and the rhythm of their pawsteps. at the mention of kits, dippernose purred and shot a sideways glance in the direction of the gathered clump of leaders, as if to spot palestar. "you'll have to send him my congratulations, that's amazing!" dippernose gushed happily. "and i'm sure he's appreciated all of your help. looking at some of the litters in highgarden these days, four kits can be a real pawful. in all of the best ways, of course, but i'm sure it's a lot to balance along with being a leader. and i'm sure you're a great leader."
indentdippernose blinked when leopardheart became bashful, and he shook his head quickly. "not at all! i want to catch up, and i'm the one who asked," dippernose teased with another purr. "highgarden has been well, thanks for asking. we've also had our fair share of kits recently, one of the thorns that i trained even had a litter of his own. and i know that he's going to be in over his head from fatherhood," dippernose laughed. "thankfully no one is expecting me to be queen anytime soon. i think tawnyrose is a much better leader than i could ever be, so i'm grateful for that."

katara: rose, molly, she/her. tags: cedarbranch
indent"hollandmarch!" katara shouted over the chatter of other clan cats when the short tom dashed off through the crowd. she knew that he was looking for a certain cat from vagaryclan, even though they couldn't be certain that cedarbranch would even be attending the gathering. still, hollandmarch's excitement was infectious, as the thought of seeing her dear friend brought a smile to katara's maw. she also knew that the young knight was excited to attend his first gathering, even better since he had received his full name and was given the rank of a knight. from the moment tawnyrose granted him his name, hollandmarch hadn't stopped talking about how excited he was to tell cedarbranch all about his assessment and ceremony. "hollandmarch, slow down!" katara called, but it was no use.
indent"c'mon mom," hollandmarch called over his shoulder. "keep up! i know he's around here somewhere!" it was in the same moment that katara recognized several familiar faces from around the vagaryclan border and hope flared in her chest. after searching for a little bit longer, katara finally spotted his familiar pelt and she spun around to try and find hollandmarch, though she had lost sight of the short knight.
indent"cedarbranch! over here!" katara called as she padded over to meet her friend. when she had finally caught her friend's attention, katara grinned and pressed her cheek warmly against the warrior's. "it's good to see you. i'm glad you're here. actually, i have a bit of a surprise for you, and -" before katara could finish her sentence, however, a shout rose from behind cedarbranch and a strange warrior hissed indignantly as a shorter tom pushed them aside.
indent"dad!" hollandmarch shouted. he launched himself towards cedarbranch, bumping his head in the tom's flank. "we found you!"

indentas soon as the quickclan cats arrived at the gathering, splashfall couldn't help but notice a familiar scent that carried on the wind and gave him pause. it had been some time since the last chance he had to meet canyoncry, and he knew that she was nearing the time when she would be kitting, but he felt an itch at his paws that urged him down into the clearing. even still, despite the longing and feeling in his gut, splashfall couldn't help but be surprised when he spotted his mate, and he let out a happy shout. "canyoncry!" the quickclan deputy called to her. he raced forward, bounding between the cats that lingered nearby. all he wanted in that moment was to be close to his beloved mate, and he purred loudly when he looked at her. "i didn't know you'd be here. is everything alright? are you feeling okay?" he asked, unable to help himself but look her up and down, fussing until he could be certain that she was safe and healthy.

indentwhen it came to ryeheart, plumblossom was hardly able to control his own excitement. he loved spending time with an old friend, one that he had met when he was just an apprentice. it meant a lot that they had each come so far and had apprentices of their own. and there was no stemming plumblossom's surprised laugh when ryeheart admitted that oakpaw wasn't her own apprentice. "dear ryeheart, do you mean to say that you let your apprentice get away?" plumblossom asked, shaking his head teasingly. "surely even you must know to keep a tight leash on your apprentice. i know siskinpaw likes to see how fast i'll run to try to keep her in line. one of these days i swear that she'll be faster than cyanstar himself, with all the agility practice she's been putting it," he teased his apprentice, who merely flashed a wide smile.
indenthis laughter continued when oakpaw spoke up, and he bumped his shoulder companionably against ryeheart's. "of course we'll walk with you," he said, and siskinpaw nodded her agreement, though she shot oakpaw a knowing glance. however, plumblossom was too busy laughing at ryeheart's words to notice the look. "oh, you're so on. i already know that i'm the best mentor on the moorland. and if i lived in a pine forest, then i'd be the best there too."
indentwhen the apprentices and mentors split apart as they walked, plumblossom grinned at ryeheart. "can you believe it?" he asked. "i still remember when we were their age. though... i don't remember being quite as small as they are. back then i felt so grown up, you know?" he hummed thoughtfully to himself. "it feels like so long ago, but also like so little has changed. if that makes any sense."

indentwhen ryeheart suggested that siskinpaw and oakpaw get to know each other so that she and plumblosom could talk, siskinpaw nodded her agreement and waited just until the warriors were wrapped up in their own conversation before turned to oakpaw. "you know, i had a feeling that plumblossom had a reason for asking cyanstar to go to the gathering, but i hadn't expected that it was because of this," she said, not unkindly, with a grin. "i mean, he's never even really mentioned cats from any other clans but... i guess it hasn't come up much either." she shrugged then, considering it for a moment before blinking at oakpaw.
indent"so, pineclan, huh? let me guess... there are no trees in your territory? no trees whatsoever?" her tone was light and teasing and she grinned at oakpaw, open and carefree. "i think you must live on a river... hm... or in the river, maybe? have you ever even seen a tree before?"

indentdawnflash hadn't been expecting the chance to go to the gathering, as cyanstar tended to only bring those who asked to attend to see family members from other clans. however, he had been approached by flintspark, who asked if dawnflash might be willing to take finpaw, as the dark warrior had already been asked to go to groveclan for a brief time and finpaw had asked repeatedly to go. dawnflash hadn't been able to deny his friend, which led to dawnflash trailing after finpaw, who peered eagerly around the entire clearing from cat to cat, as if any brown tabby might turn out to be one of his siblings or mother. not that dawnflash minded. it was a good chance to get out and stretch his legs, if nothing else, even if hazelclan wasn't able to attend the gathering.

Heronstar took her usual calm walk up the leaders' rock. It was a little slower than usual, and it was a recurring pattern now that her step was growing slower. Her tail held high, her chin held up and proud (but not arrogantly), she had a quiet aura around her. It was like, thanks to being a grandmother now to three batches of kittens, she had enough grandmother energy that anyone could feel it, and it was the sort of grandmother energy that no one really wanted to disrespect.
xxxxAnd, again, as usual, the faces had entirely changed again.
xxxxHeronstar sighed. Gatherings were growing more and more bittersweet every time she attended.
xxxxAnd again. No Honeystar.
xxxxAnother sigh.
xxxxOh well. It was time to try to forge more allegiances, if it were possible, and that was what she would do.

Heronstar's job was to make alliances. Chubtail's - self appointed - job was to catch up on news. And catching up on an ally's news first was both intuitive and logical. If there was anything dangerous that Gustclan needed to learn about in order to be able to handle their own safety properly, it was most likely to come from Forestclan.
xxxxChubtail had to awkwardly raise up on his back legs to get a good enough vantage to see exactly where the other clan's (presumed) deputy was - maybe he should have waited to be in the deputies' area and just searched around the crowd once there? - but it was an easy beeline that he took, and a polite "excuse me, thank you" to every cat he had to work through.
xxxxHe stopped close to Boulderpelt - not directly beside, but within a fox's length - and gave a little nod of his head. "Boulderpelt? Are you deputy now?" He waited that distance away. It was rude to encroach in personal space, after all. "How goes Forestclan?"

There had been a truly bizarre phenomenon leaving Gustclan territory. Teasel-leaf and Gannetnose seemed to have been the only ones to notice. Within the space of half-a-territory's walk, there was a flurry in the air and suddenly it grew misty. Gannenose had stopped, and Teasel-leaf had pressed his nose into the other tabby's pelt to encourage him to keep moving forwards and not lose track of the others.
xxxxOne step it was spring, and flowers came up underfoot, the next it was summer, and the sun blazed through the mist, the next autumn, and crisp leaves fell through the air and irritated whiskers, then winter, something thick and white beneath their paws and the wind howling for a moment. A cycle, over, and over, and over.
xxxxAnd yet the other cats did not notice.
xxxxAnd the two medicine cats only saw it for a moment. It was like... it was like what Teasel-leaf would expect if he had just stepped out of a time-freeze, if time could be frozen. And yet, none of the others could see.
xxxxHow bizarre.
xxxxAlmost as bizarre as the conversation Adoniscloud had started with his son straight after. Teasel-leaf had elected to ignore it, and started to walk ahead, so he was the first Gustclan cat at the gathering, and wove his way through the other cats at the gathering without so much as brushing a hair against their pelts on the way.

Despite the difficulties in going to see the rest of their family recently (and it truly had been strange passing into the gathering, like suddenly a huge number of seasons had swept passed at once, no wonder it had been difficult finding their family recently), Gannetnose had good hopes of finding his family here. After all, his littermates were, at least, normally here.
xxxxGullstream had fallen asleep early (as usual) before a gathering, thanks to wanting to take a watch over camp the next morning, and that just left Gannetnose and Adoniscloud to go to a gathering.
xxxxThere had been some awkward silence on the walk here, thanks to his father deciding going to the gathering was a great opportunity to start teaching a medicine cat about proper romantic etiquette.
xxxxThey got along well - of course they did - but Gannetnose did not need the image of his dad flirting with his mum in his head.
xxxxEw.
xxxxIt was a relief to escape that thinking and hurry over to Jadefall and Boomtail when he saw them, with a very quick word for his father behind him. They looked... a lot older than he remembered, and he barely felt like he'd aged a day. Certainly something strange had happened, and would have to be deduced if it could be, at some point, but a gathering was not the time for that.

Clarystorm had insisted he came. Heronstar hadn't wanted to, but anyone who tried arguing with him would know it was futile, and giving up sooner than later was better. He'd said something about "making sure Heronstar didn't fall for liars making allegiances" and "it being due dilligence to know your allies".
xxxxHis paranoia had gone no-where.
xxxxHe refused to enter the crowd, instead keeping his behind always facing outwards.
xxxxHis fur bristled in waves, rippled by the invisible wind of his vigilance. xxxxAny cat who came near had to deal with his stares and piercing gaze, sussing them out. Occasinally, if he saw any cat staring too long from far away, he'd open his mouth to hiss at them, and quickly relocate to a different part of the gathering.
xxxxSuch weird behaviour was bound to draw eyes to him...

The walk to the gathering had been... non-ideal. Sure, Gannetnose had turned down wanting to learn how to flirt with mollies properly before, and turned it down, but he'd turned it down because he was a medicine cat and not meant to have kits, but he'd also said he just wasn't very interested. Now, maybe it was just how Adoniscloud was but he couldn't help noticing that if Gannetnose wasn't interested in dating mollies or having kits, there was an obvious other path for romance, if he was ever interested, and maybe his job as a dad could extend to helping in that, too!
xxxxGannetnose had turned that help down too.
xxxxThe walk had been more awkward after that.
xxxxIt wasn't made less awkward by the ticked tabby molly who was staring at the two of them silently with an amused - yet confused - look in her eyes.
xxxx"Hey dad, gotta go." Gannetnose said, before rushing off to join the other medicine cats.
xxxxGarganeywhisker continued staring after, still amused. She looked around at the other gathered cats, and stepped nervously a little closer to Adoniscloud.
xxxxHe looked down at her for a second (just for a moment his mind wondered if that was flirting before remembering how close Garganeywhisker and Pheasantcloud were), thought for a moment, looked back out at the other cats, and down again.
xxxx"You're nervous, right?"
xxxxGarganeywhisker nodded, fast but small, and made a tiny eeping noise that might have been a "yes". She still wasn't sure why Heronstar had wanted her here. Exposure therapy wasn't exactly a term cats had.
xxxx"Okay. Right. Um. Stick with me, yeah? Let's go find someone familiar, that'd help right?" Garganeywhisker nodded, with a bit more energy than just before. Adoniscloud looked around again, and gave a visible sigh of relief in spotting two familiar cats from the neighbouring clan. "Look, there's two Forestclan cats, right? You met them with me on patrol a few moons' ago, I think? Do you remember them?" Adoniscloud gestured with one paw, and Garganeywhisker looked, gave another tiny nod, and pressed in against his side.
xxxxIt looked like he was taking the lead walking over, and he strode proudly and confidently through the other cats, accompanied by his smaller, far more nervous friend, who kept burying her face in his fur every time she thought someone was staring at her, which was most of the time, and only unburied her face once the two of them had stopped.
xxxx"It's Barleystream and Nour, right?" The tom asked, as Garganeywhisker pulled herself a whisker's width away from her clanmate. It had been a while since they'd last met, it was always worth checking names.

xxxxIf Cicelynose had known how to pull a disapproving expression at her mother's suggestion she would have done. She'd have also rolled her eyes.
xxxxAs was, she stood near the edge of the gathered warriors, as it was hard to navigate her way smoothly through the large numbers of cats without any sight.
xxxxEventually she stopped, and huffed loudly, and turned to the closest cat around her, who she'd just bumped into approximately 1/4 of a second beforehand. "Sorry for bumpin' into you, okay, but I cannot be bothered to deal with this many fat-butts who refuse to get out my way, so I guess you'll do." Cicelynose tried pulling a smile, but having never seen a smile, it was... sort of creepy, to say the least. "Hi, my name is Cicelynose, I'm from Gustclan, and I'm fed up with crowds. What's your name?"

Witstone had a very impassive sort of face to her. Whatever she was thinking or feeling, her eyes were like hard flint, sharp and unbending.
xxxxShe was calm and collected, unusually so for her age, and though the contents were indiscernible, it was obvious there was no pause in her thoughts, from her eyes.
xxxxShe was, perhaps, the least obvious of the Gustclan warriors to come tonight. A very common coat, no obvious hints at a particularly unusual personality. It would be very easy to mistake her for a cat much older than herself.
xxxxAnd, unlike the others, she had nothing holding her back from the genuine intention of a gathering for a clan's warriors - to make friends.

(you can really tell which cats were randomly selected for the gathering pff. For both clans I'll probably go through and select specific people to reply to first but I thought putting something for everyone to be able to reply to who's open to get dibs on first is fair)

Oripendularstar wasn't so much here at the gathering because she wanted to be, as because the code called her to be, and her whole clan expected her to be. Truthfully, she was more than a little worried about her warriors' minds being infected by the lies of silly cats who only bothered following half of the code, and didn't even truly enforce that.
xxxxHer nose turned up, barely high enough to graze the chins of most other cats, thanks to her size.
xxxxShe walked straight past the warriors milling around, as her clan arrived. Oripendularstar had a sort of presence - not so much of personality as of something cold and powerful and otherwordly - clinging to her pelt.
xxxxAny cat who had wanted to could very easily have just stepped in front of her and stopped her, but that aura was enough to stop it. Cats parted like grass around her, avoiding her, and she worked her way up to the leaders' rock with no effort expended.
xxxxShe had no intention to speak to these code-traitors but it was what the code itself called for, so here she was.
xxxxShe sat down at one edge of the rock, tail hanging off the edge, and staring at the other leaders, trying (and succeeding!) in disguising her disdain for them.

Crackerheart was an enormous cat, dwarfing most cats easily. Quite how a cat got that size was a mystery to most.
xxxxWhile they did share a little bit of the coldness of their leader's presence, it was far more reserved, and hidden far more effectively by an amused look in their eye and a little humorous twitch of their whiskers.
xxxxThey scanned each cat that approached for a moment, looking them over. A very careful cat would be confused for the tiniest moment, looking in their eye, and forget the reason just as soon after, so devoid of reminders their face was once the scan had happened.
xxxxThey could have carved a separate path through the crowd by brute force if they wanted, but, instead, there was an almost comical sight as this huge cat followed their tiny molly leader through the crowd. Some cats might question if so much of Oripendularstar's powerful aura wasn't just the implicit knowledge that hurting her would result in a fight with that huge cat right behind her half a second later.
xxxxAs she slipped off to the highrock, Crackerheart slipped off to join the deputies instead, giving a jovial smile and a wink back at Toucanfur.

Beside Crackerheart, Toucanfur was positively a normal size. Besides any other cat, she categorically (hah) was not.
xxxxWhile Crackerheart had basked in the attention his size gave him, Toucanfur wove her way through the foliage at the edge of the gathering and stepped out among the medicine cats in one go.
xxxxQuite why a cat who was so obviously suited for being a skillful warrior had chosen to be a medicine cat would be beyond most others, until interacting with her. She kept back a little from the other medicine cats, observing, and waiting for the right moment to step in.

Catopsispaw was the only member of Paragonclan who could really be argued to be "normal".
xxxxShe followed after the other cats of her clan with a bounce in her step, happily chattering to the others as they walked about what she was doing in training, and how weird the birds were here, and how strangely diffuse the plants were, and how there was no hint of humidity in the air here, and wasn't that strange?!
xxxxShe hadn't even seen a single cave once they'd left their own territory, all the way to here!
xxxxWho could blame her for being excited! She hadn't had anyone to play with since her mother had got lost on the monsterpath.
xxxxShe was about to run off to join the other cats as soon as she saw them, but Oripendularstar told her to arrive with the others, and Catopsispaw did know the value of following the code properly, so she knew to obey that. Even if she was visibly itching to run off.
xxxxAs they actually reached the gathering, Oripendularstar told her she could go, and she was off like a dart from a human's stick, running to join the youngest cats she could see around and maybe get to play with them.
xxxxThere was one - a dillute tortie with white feet - who looked to only be a little bit older than her. Perfect!
xxxxCatopsispaw stopped only a few steps away (probably well within sight of the other molly) and lowered her front legs, waving her tail and her back legs in the air, and sprung.
