as a result, she's driven many people away with her ill temper and hurtful
words. but, adalina isn't mean by nature. she is actually quite the dedicat
ed and loyal person. she can always be relied on to get the job done, plus
she's always seeking to better herself. her rather isolated childhood mean
t she never learned to make friends. she was actually even discouraged fr
om doing so. her only interactions were 'lowly' servants who she was neve

ly and certainly not happy, even if she won't admit it to herself. xxxxxxxxl

Name: Yuichi Oreki
Age: 17
Gender: Male
S.O: None
Weapon(s) used: Scythe, A Rifle, Daggers
Current Weapon: None
Height: 172 cm (5'8")
Weight: 62 kg (137 lbs)
Eye color: Green
Hair color: Dark Brown
Parents: Tora Oreki (meister), Satoshi Oreki (meister)
Likes: Food, Manga, Fighting (on his own terms), Death City.
Dislikes: School, Anything that requires energy.
⊰ ─ Family: None of his family has had weapon blood in their family, although they all are adept at fighting, wielding weapons, and matching soul wavelengths with others quite easily. He has a sister whose at a very young age, and no other siblings. Yuichi lives with his uncle and aunt who live in death city.
⊰ ─ Personality: Is actually quite lazy, especially when it comes to anything school/meister related. Unlike most of his family he lacks motivation to be a good meister. He's expected to do "great things" as a meister but doesn't really see the point, he's wielded many different weapons during his childhood and doesn't have the motivation any longer. He wouldn't seem like it with his grades being average but Yuichi is actually quite clever and is extremely good when being in battle. Being level-headed probably helps him tremendously during battle, it's quite hard to surprise Yuichi. He often appears bored and uninterested, especially at school or during class.
⊰ ─ Past: Grew up in the middle of nowhere where his entire family, aunts, uncles, cousins, and parents lived. They weren't rich by any means but just all collectively lived in the same area, as children he and his cousins would learn how to fight each other using their parent's weapons. Yuichi was by far the best, although when first starting out at the age of seven he wasn't. As a child his parent's often gave him motivation to become the best and be the best, his parent's had been the strongest in the family and weren't going to accept their child not being the same way. Although his little sister got special treatment, which he honestly didn't mind. It was better than being forced to learn to beat up your cousins at the age of seven. Once Yuichi was at the age of 17 he was sent off to Death City to become better than he already was, which seemed quite impossible if he was being honest.

Yuichi hadn't decided to turn his alarm clock on last night, which didn't matter because he hadn't even slept anyways. His normally clean room was now a complete mess from his inability to actually sleep a good eight hours. He'd take short naps throughout the night but didn't ever really fall asleep, at one point he had laid on the floor reading manga, and at another part of the night he'd cleaned his bedsheets even though they'd already been cleaned that morning and then he ended up in the middle of his room watching tv halfheartedly until six in the morning. He was sprawled out on the floor eating some candy he didn't even know he had when his aunt came barging into his room. A series of emotions crossed her face before she actually spoke. At first she seemed angry, probably assuming he was still sleeping, then she seemed disgusted by the state of his room and last but not least she seemed concerned. She was always concerned, seeing as this woman treated him more like a son than his actual birth mother. His aunt stood at 5'5 with long black hair down to her waist that was always nicely trimmed. The older woman crossed her arms as she looked down at Yuichi with a disappointed look in her eyes. "Did you not listen to me last night?" Both eyebrows of his were raised now in confusion, he never remembered talking to her at all last night. "I guess not, I said that you needed to get sleep because I knew you'd do this. Now you're going to be grumpy all day like you usually are," His aunt shook her head as she continued, "And on top of all that now I have to clean all of this,"
Yuichi peeled himself off the floor that had been his home for two hours now, "I never said you'd clean it up" he mumbled as he took another piece of candy and popped it into his mouth while staring at the mess around him. "Obviously I'll do it after school seeing as I definitely wont have anything better to do." It was actually one of his favorite things, cleaning was relaxing and meant he could take a long deserving nap afterwards. "Well fine, get dressed and eat or you're going to be late, and I don't mean candy!" She ordered before leaving the room and shutting the door behind her. And so Yuichi did just that, he got dressed, ate some food his aunt made for him and left for school. He didn't like being early like this to school but he didn't have a choice really, he'd be murdered by his aunt if his mother found out his aunt wasn't making him 'train' like she'd wanted him to, or if he even missed a second of school. Although all of his family well knew it didn't matter if he attended, he wouldn't really learn anything.
The school itself was a marvelous thing, it was quite the sight. Just like the city it had a theme, although it wasn't the scary 'death' theme everyone would expect. It was obviously more kid friendly, which was quite disappointing but interesting at the same time. It was one of the few things he liked about the school and city. It was interesting, the people who lived in death city were quite different. He hadn't actually met anyone who lived in death city besides his aunt and uncle. He didn't mind his aunt but his uncle was quite annoying, which was exactly how most people were. This was why he was nervous about meeting whoever his weapon would end up being, if they were annoying or anything like that he'd probably loose his mind. Soon other students started showing up and started talking and being all excited over who'd they wanted to get partnered with and who they hoped they wouldn't, and for him, he hoped he wouldn't even get a partner and get kicked out already.

Ridiculous. The word of the day. It was Adalina's first thought as she slapped the off button on her maddening alarm. It was still her thought as she woke up with a pounding headache, thanks to her delayed flight. She had gotten to her apartment late last night and hadn't gone to sleep as early as she would have liked. Plus, the time difference between Death City and her home in Scotland would catch up to her by the end of the day. Why couldn't she have gotten an earlier flight? Your acceptance letter arrived late, her parents had said. Anyways, it's your fault for choosing a school so far away. Adalina winced. It's on you for not getting into a local school, were the unsaid words. Unsaid, but still loud and clear. As if to drown out the memories, she turned the radio up to full volume. The reporter's monotone voice filled her empty apartment room. Sent to live on her own, her new home wasn't quaint, but wasn't fancy either. There were some quirks to it: the bathroom sink that was too low, the concerning clicks of the ceiling fan and the tiny cracks in the kitchen counter. Even still, it was definitely more roomy than the dorms, which she would have to share with a roommate. Besides, despite it all, everything functioned though. Not that she could be bothered to inspect everything. That was the job of her butler... which actually, her parents wouldn't let her bring. It'll build character, they said. A reason that deserved her disrespectful snort. The only character she seemed to be building was irritability.
She moved to get on with her morning, snatching clothes from the suitcase she hadn't bothered to unpack. Gazing at her reflection in the mirror, she adjusted her cloak that lay over a short dress and pulled her hair up into their usual pigtails. Her face stared back at her, no, glared back at her. The faint but noticeable circles under her eyes tarnished what would otherwise be a presentable appearance. So much for looking good on her first day at the famed DWMA. She slammed the door on her way out.
Speaking of which, the school itself was... ridiculous. There was no other word for it. The black, white and red theme would have been sophisticated enough for her liking, but the architecture? Childish, infantile, informal. Almost an insult to the princess who had travelled so far to attend it. Shaking her head with distaste, she moved to brave the crowds of arriving students. Scowling at anyone who so much as nudged her, she navigated through the crowd to the entrance, with her own pushes and shoves. Most people seemed to be chatting in their groups. There were new students pondering who their partners would be along with old students catching up. The area was filled with gossip, excitement, nervousness, and all the usual stuff. Adalina picked up a whisper or two about a princess that would be joining their year. Perhaps it was her imagination, but the royal tipped her chin up a little, indulging in her pride for a moment. It was short moment too. With the lack of signs and people she knew, she was beginning to feel a bit lost.
"Excuse me," she approached a group of giggling girls. They looked around her age, but she towered over them with her height. "Do you happen to know where the new students are supposed to go?" They responded with a side-glance and infuriating shrug. Returning the favour with an intimidating glower and huff, Adalina turned away with disgust. Never mind the fact that she was royalty. That was certainly not the way anyone would want to be treated. Her impatience was bubbling inside of her. She didn't have time for idle chatter and disorganization. She came here to learn and become better, not to wait around aimlessly. Unfortunately for her though that was the only thing she could do right now. Absolutely ridiculous.
If the other groups were going to be as cold, the princess wasn't going to bother asking around. Perhaps though, another student who looked as lost as she did might be more help. Brown hair, green eyes─ with a tired look to match Adalina's. "Where are the new students supposed to go?" she asked. Curt and to the point. No dawdling around with pleasantries. Her mood was too sour to even consider being a little nicer.

He was just barely halfway up the steps of the school when he was stopped. He didn't really have enough energy to even tell the girl to leave him alone; he kind of just stood there not really hearing what the girl was saying. She had silver hair, which looked well kept for someone who lived in death city. For some reason many people around the city looked disheveled. He assumed this was due to the ever increasing number of students running around trying collect 100 Kishin souls. Yuichi on the other hand had other plans, his mother expected him to train, his aunt wanted him to live his life, but all he wanted to do was eat. Suddenly he realized the girl had asked him a question.
Her purple eyes narrowed in frustration or some other emotion when she looked at Yuichi. Suddenly the boy wished he were somewhere else where he wasn't required to acknowledge the girl. He could tell she wasn't happy about something, no one could be relatively happy at this time in the morning though. Despite this he didn't really care, he would never see this girl again. There wasn't any point in entertaining her any longer, without a word he lifted his shoulders ever so slightly to shrug in lack of knowledge. He probably did know the answer to their question but didn't feel like being generous today.
The only thing on his mind was the manga he was reading last night, it had gotten quite interesting. It was in a universe with vampires and humans, although most humans were wiped out in a disease that only killed older humans. Children were experimented on to become seraphs. In the most recent manga release one main character had the first progenitor posse them. The last page in the chapter was empty save for one chilling word. Run.
That was the word of the day, he would run from all his responsibilities today. He could imagine how it would feel to lay in his bed at three in them morning and read manga endlessly until the sun came up. Then he'd "wake up" and go back to school. He'd repeat this everyday until the weekend in which he did nothing but read manga until he literally could no longer see the words correctly and have to sleep. His aunt often got onto him about not sleeping enough, she didn't mind about the not training part. Her side of the family had basically been not disowned but more like outcasts. They helped their sibling's children assimilate into the life of death city. Or thats what the plan was; Yuichi was supposed to be the first since he was the oldest but so far no progress has been made. He didn't mind, all he hoped was that his mother wouldn't one day just show up on his doorstep.

As soon as the boy turned to her with deadpan eyes, Adalina could tell he wasn't going to be helpful. Perhaps it was an illusion, but he seemed to shrink before her eyes. It was evident that he wanted to be anywhere else but here, and that his mind was already elsewhere. Biting the inside of her mouth, holding herself back from spluttering some choicy words, she awaited his response. It wouldn't do to garner a bad reputation on her first day. Throwing insults around wouldn't do her well. Plus, if she made a scene and her parents heard about it? They'd pay a personal visit to Death City to chew her out and take her back. For now, she could at least hope that she had guessed wrong, and that the boy would offer some assistance.
So, when he responded with a nonchalant shrug, Adalina, for a moment, could do nothing but blink in disbelief. For a second that felt like an eternity, she held back, irritation simmering in her blood. Are you kidding me? Is everyone here ignorant as all hell, or have I just been asking the slow ones? You don't have to be some sort of genius to give me a 'yes' or 'no' answer, she fumed. I should have stayed home. At least the people there have some respect. She was a time-bomb ticking away, about to explode at any moment. You could see it too, in the way she raised her eyebrows, in the way she clenched her jaw, and in her exasperated scowl. Unfortunately for the poor boy in front of her, the time on the bomb clock was... about a second.
"God, everyone here is so useless! Did you even hear my question? Do I need to repeat it slower for you to understand? Is that what you want?" she snapped, stepping closer so that she could look down at the other student. She found she couldn't quite look at him for long though. His sagging shoulders, half-closed eyes, rather disheveled appearance; all of it seemed to fuel her frustration. To be honest, it wouldn't have bothered her as much on a good day, but at this point, she was looking for any reason at all to be more angry. "Ugh!" she exclaimed, turning away. Not an elegant or royal response at all, but Adalina couldn't bother to think of anything nicer to say. Anyways, to her, it wasn't as though the situation deserved a better response. Disrespect towards her meant disrespect from her, no questions asked.
She did a small loop to cool down a little, but returned to staring the boy down. As well as to her brooding thoughts. If her meister was as hopeless as this boy and the girls she had spoken to earlier, she would have a huge problem ahead of her. She had no room or patience to be a motivational cheerleader, tutor, or babysitter. She needed someone who was serious. Someone who would put in as much work as she would to get the souls she needed. And if the person she got partnered with wasn't going to be helpful? Then, they'd certainly better run.
