To anyone who works on the summer events: How long in advance are the themes chosen? Is the next year’s chosen right after the previous one ends, or do you have to wait a while to find out?

I have so many favorites, but I've always loved the Moonswirl because of its heterochromatic eyes. I used to collect them 'til I decided I wanted to go for a complete collection instead. I love all of the dogs from 2008 because they are so nostalgic for me.

To: Tess or anyone else who knows

Why is the black-eyed galaxy smaller than all the other dogs? It was smaller in its puppy stage too. Also, why does the puppy stage of the clear-eyed galaxy have yellow scleras?

I was going to let Tess answer this one because she can probably explain it better than me, but it was made smaller to give the pets some variety, like how dogs would be different sizes in real life. Some of the PPSes re-released for Advent 2008 are also smaller than normal, because they were originally released in April-June 2008 before users could have accounts and collect pets!

We usually pick a theme and plan the event a few months in advance. We take several factors into consideration, but the most important is that we have a theme that allows us to create a variety of pets. There are so many cool places that Avian and Totoro can travel to, but we have to be able to create a lot of content that follows the theme.

To any staff members who watch Avatar (my boyfriend just got me into it):

If you were a bender, what element do you think you would bend and why?

I took an online test and it told me I would be a fire bender which is weird, as i'd probably choose air for myself. I think I might lay between the two.. because I can be very very lazy but also very passionate and all in. (Also my western zodiac element is air but my chinese zodiac element is fire so the confusion stands.. shrugggg~)

I would say a water bender since I can be stubborn, but can be persistent. I'm sort of like Katara in a way, but not completely.

I've been wondering, all of the animal sections have info except the hatchery and the other pets, why is that?

I see an abundance of items that repeatedly show up in the Pound. I know not everyone can get to the pound, but after a long time of nobody taking the stuff, wouldn't it just be better to delete it all, or move it to a showcase? Or perhaps make them trade-able, but only if the user who actually wants them can use them. That way the Pound isn't filled with unwanted items, or even pets.

what's the worst and best part of your job?

Worst part for me is definitely having to close a thread which descended into full on user fights while nobody was online. It quite often results in having to PM or warn several users and that is nothing I particularly enjoy.

to anyone who knows the answer:

how come Tess and Nick have never designed a staff litter pet? I was browsing through my collection, and when I got to 2009, I couldn’t help but think, ‘Was the staff size really that small?’ I knew something was missing.
I checked a guide and it said that staff can choose whether or not they want to participate and create a pet.
Obviously, I can see why they would opt out of it in recent years, but why not back in 2009-2010?

what's the worst and best part of your job?

I mean the best part is easily the team. Outside of CS we’re just a big group of friends with lives like everyone else. It sounds cheesy as heck but sometimes I wonder where I’d be now if I didn’t have the others to rant and talk to about the most random of things haha.

In a way this is also the worst part; chevreuil has been both entertaining us and killing us with the cringe parts of Midnight Sun recently. That is one terrible, painful book.
