it's been a few years since i've participated in LOLO, maybe i'll join this year! i think writing my trick or treat story would be fun since i haven't written anything in ages.

I need some help from all of you super creative Chicken Smoothians. I'm trying to finish up my pet's costume I started last year right after LOLO ended, the Hat Box Ghost from Disney's The Haunted Mansion. If you're not familiar with it, this guy:



I'm having the most trouble coming up with an item that looks like the hat box he's holding. The closest I've been able to come is this.



Anyone have any suggestions or advice? Thanks and happy haunting!

id really like to use this dressup bc its one of my favs ;u; i know theres a lot of scenery, but the wings definitely tip him off as ra i think!

I think it does if you explain it, but personally I think it would be better if there was a bit more to the costume itself. Maybe a yellow or gold clothing item?

It looks nice! Though I thing it would need something more to be used for LOLO. Our rule of thumb is generally ~3+ items that help identify what the pet is, and ~50% of the pet covered with the costume. Obviously that varies depending on the costume but in this case unless the sun is actually a physical part of the pet's costume, the only things actually pointing to it being Ra would be the wings and necklace.

I'm not an expert on Egyptian gods so sorry if this isn't entirely accurate, but as I understand it depictions of Ra generally have the Sun symbol above the head. Creating something like that with items would go a long way to making it immediately recognizable. Though even without that, just adding some general clothing items from the Egypt event would help with this costume, just one of the dresses or shendyts would prob be enough to tie together the Egypt theme for me. The headdress or one of the contacts would prob work too if you don't want clothing.

^ that all said this is one of the ones venturing into grey territory so some of the other thread mods might be more willing to accept it as-is than me. Adding a couple things an especially if you state in the story that the sun is part of the costume should be enough though.
