Patch & Lover
Lover is as her name implies- a lover of life, a lover of kindness, and a lover of love. She is deeply in love with her mate, Patch, and the two seem to be able to read each others minds, producing beautiful foals, all with intelligence and wisdom.

Oddball & Ranger
When Oddball was a young filly, she was put in a field with her mother, with a whole bunch of other breeding mares and their babies, all around the same age, a large breeding farm their home. One of the other foals, a small, black colt by the name of Ranger was a particularly favoured playmate, and the two could often be seen romping together around the paddock, play fighting and racing each other around rocks and trees and the big lake in the middle of the meadow. They would often snuggle together while sleeping, as their mothers were good friends, and the two did everything together.

It was when they both turned 2 years old that Oddball's feelings started to develop, and Ranger's as well. The young colt was more gentle with their play, and suddenly acted a lot more considerate of his friend. They were more prone to grooming each other and once they were removed from the home field, put into a herd with the other yearlings, they often stayed in their own corner, joining in when the mood arose with the racing and game, but generally withdrawing into their own space, enjoying their own company.

Some of the older, more callous colts and fillies would tease Oddball for her unusual coat and for being a little bit smaller than the others, but Ranger would always defend her, and if it came to it, he was prepared to fight. He was bigger than her and a lot of the others, and after one particularly rough scruff, the horses learnt to ignore Ranger and his 'little special case'.

As basic training began at the age of 4, the two were kept quite close to each other, stabled together, and were trained by the same young man, Phillip, who recognised their close connection. After a long day, they would find solace in each others company, and it wasn't long before they would have easily been considered mates. Unfortunately, Oddball had been noticed by an estate close by that bred and trained Khimaira's, and the now young mare was sold, leaving her childhood partner behind.

She still misses him, even a year on, and though she is now a talented dressage horse, she hopes that one day the two can be re-united.

Huffle & Gryffin
Huffle is the personification of friendliness and kindness. She is jolly, and happy, and loves her food, though she is not demanding for it. She admires her mate, Gryffin, but keeps him 'in line' when she needs to, for her sake or others!
Gryffin is a bit of a goofball and enjoys a good laugh with friends, and though he is smart, sometimes his focus is distracted by what's going on around him. He is a handsome horse, and knows it, but he has eyes only for his mate, Huffle, and his friends. He is noble and brave, and defends his loved ones when needed.

Hiero & Melody
Melody is an incredibly perceptive, intelligent horse. She knows that people consider her a 'curse', or bad luck. It doesn't matter that she is incredibly talented at jumping- people can't get over by the perception. Because of this, she spends a lot of time cooped up in her stable, and she knows the ins and outs of the whole place, whether she likes it or not. She tries to make the most of this existence, but using her knowledge to make new friends and try to help others, but often to no avail. The other horses seem to want nothing to do with her, no matter how friendly she is, so for Melody, it is an almost friendless existence. All except for one girl, a stablehand, who refuses to use the cruel name the owner of the stables gave her- her one friend in the world who gifted her the name Melody, instead of the Malady she was titled by everyone else. Picked up by a benign owner eventually, after being sold, again, she ended up in the same stable as another who lived an almost as depressing existence- a fellow Khimaira, blind and beautiful, called Hiero. Perhaps here, Melody had found her true soulmate.
