Everyone meeting up does not mean everyone has to interact with every other person. I just assumed we'd all have to meet up before the story could progress. I don't mind if we don't, but how should we proceed? I think it would be nice if there was an announcement or something to give people a more immediate goal.

i still don't like the idea of everyone meeting up together. it's just not a good idea imo. like i said bigger groups are fine, but i personally don't like everyone together. as for an announcement i suppose that could work but there are characters at are no long in the inn to begin with.
and ngl it's a bit difficult to set up a single thing up along these lines because some people may not pay attention to my posts which would be the person setting it up.

Okay, we don’t have to all meet up. Films do this too: they tend to stick to four or less characters on screen at once to keep things less crazy. But with this very open-ended roleplay, it’s incredibly easy to die from a lack of direction. How do you want to combat this?

we can always assign everyone a small group
like a set of teams with their own section of the city to defend.
not every group needs to go fight at once, theirs always someone around ready to be back up while fighting monsters
plus some people will be able to do the action, ploty stuff that they want and those who want to have character interaction and development can do other things elsewhere as they want.
another good tool for that could be npc's which basically just means letting anyone play as a monster if they want to. or hey they went into a store ill be a quick shop keep.

i understand there must be direction and such. if we want to discuss ideas on how we want to progress i am all for it, i was simply just saying putting everyone together isn't the way to go.
i am all for npcs and people having control over monsters and things like that. that being said i feel like the robot behind the front desk could direct groups out into the city for those who are seeking to actually get into action. i have established already that there is faint screaming coming from outside that can be heard in the lobby.
