Tumblefoot ๏ผ TimberClan Warrior ๏ผ Tom ๏ผ 19 Moons ๏ผ Mentions: Fritillaryfur, Acornpaw ๏ผ Tags: Open
Tumblefoot had risen early, and while he had intended to bring some fresh-kill back to camp, he had come up empty-pawed. In TimberClan, he'd often go collecting herbs for their medicine cat, finding it much easier to collect what can't run away. He'd learned a great deal in his time doing so, not so much how the herbs were used, but enough to know what was worth picking up. To his delight, he'd managed to find a small amount of comfrey root. It likely wouldn't last long with the state the clans were in, but at least it was something. Tumblefoot was well aware the only surviving medicine cats were that of MoorClan, so he began searching for them, or at least someone who could pass on the herb, as soon as he strode back into their temporary camp.

Sootpaw ๏ผ MoorClan Apprentice ๏ผ Tom ๏ผ 8 Moons ๏ผ Mentions: None ๏ผ Tags: Open
Sootpaw rolled over and groaned at the thought of rising from not-so-restful slumber. His paws and legs still ached from travel, and he didn't like to admit it was hard for him too keep up often times. Rolling back onto his belly, the undersized MoorClan apprentice watched the older cats move about the camp. He had no intention of getting up unless beckoned.

Fritillaryfur
ใ€Œxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxใ€
MoorClan Medicine Cat
55 Moons
Straight
Mentoring Acornpaw
With Acornpaw
ใ€Œxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxใ€
Every cat had the right to feel exhausted, but if Fritillaryfur was honest with herself, she had to admit that she felt the weight of these changes heavier than most. She had lost just as much as any other cat, but her position required her to remain calm, keep a positive attitude, and assist in organizing the survivors into as cohesive a group as could be managed. Fritillaryfur found herself as the only surviving medicine cat, save her apprentice, Acornpaw. Sad as she was to lose her comrades from RushClan and TimberClan, there was some small comfort in StarClan's generosity to protect this one, final bond. That was more than many could say. She had slept near him, and awoke to find the tom curled in a tight ball, like he was attempting to shrink away from the world. Fritillaryfur lifted her head, allowing her eyes to rest on her apprentice while a gentle purr escaped her. Perhaps it was inappropriate to find such comfort in the presence of a cat she should be comforting, but the familiarity did her wonders nonetheless. After an indulgent moment of steeling herself for another challenging day, Fritillaryfur sighed softly and pushed herself up to sit, glancing around to see if any of the others had started a prey pile yet. Acornpaw would need his strength. As for herself, she was content going without until she knew there was enough to go around.

Vervainpaw
ใ€Œxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxใ€
TimberClan Apprentice
9 Moons
Asexual
Mentored by Thunderheart
With Thunderheart
and Yellowflower
ใ€Œxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxใ€
When Vervainpaw had gone to sleep last night, her head as still a whirlwind of confusion, obscured by the whiplash of all the changes that come when one's world is turned upside down. The grief of losing her clanmates, and especially her mother, was still fresh in her heart. Yet, Vervainpaw felt more burdened than ever to prove that she was no kittypet. Now, there were three clans that she needed to win over. She had a hard time thinking of them as "StormClan". A moon ago, they were rivals, and life was so much simpler. If it were not for the solace of Thunderheart's watchful presence at the mouth of the gully, Vervainpaw doubted she would have been able to sleep at all. As she blinked her green eyes open against the first rays of sunlight, she found herself somewhat surprised in that bewildering way one feels upon waking in a foreign location. Vervainpaw felt the fur at the back of her neck bristle at the discomfort of it all. It seemed most cats had chosen to try sleep in the traditional arrangement of separating by rank. She noticed a few apprentices nearby, amid the crowd of mostly-strangers. Here and there, Vervainpaw spotted a few familiar pelts. Several of TimberClan's warriors had made it, but she was the only apprentice from her former clan. Seeing the state of the three clans laid out before her made her miss her mother all the more bitterly that morning. Each day, the emptiness in her heart throbbed less harshly, but it was still fresh enough to hurt. There was only one thing that truly took her mind off of her grief.
"Ok, time to get started."
Her fur was still messy, but Vervainpaw did not have it in her to care. She leaned too heavily on her obsolete routine. Thunderheart usually had tasks for her each morning, so it was in his direction that she found her paws traveling. His thick, brown pelt and stern gaze were hard to miss, but the apprentice frowned quizzically when she realized he had not moved from his guard post. Surely, he was tired. Clearly, he must realize he would need his rest in order to continue the day's journey. Her frown softened to an expression of admiration as she realized how dedicated Thunderheart was to keeping everyone safe. That was the sort of single-mindedly loyal warrior she wanted to be one day.
As she drew closer, Vervainpaw noticed Yellowflower had already beat her to Thunderheart's side. She hesitated for a heartbeat or two, unsure as to whether it was appropriate to intrude on their conversation. It was a courtesy she would not have offered for her peers, but warriors deserved respect from apprentices. She knew her place. Still, just that heartbeat of a hesitation was enough for some well-meaning eavesdropping to determine that the morning's pleasantries the two warriors were exchanging would not be damaged by the addition of her own.
"Good morning, Thunderheart and Yellowflower. I, uh..."
She would have liked to volunteer to go hunting before the morning patrols were sent out, or offer to deliver breakfast to the elders, but without a territory to patrol or a proper prey pile to pick through, Vervainpaw was at a loss. Already, her morning routine was failing her. Instead, she settled on a simpler question.
"How can I help?"

xxxxDoefeather must have floated off into her thoughts because Ghoststar's voice startled her enough to jump. Her claws unsheathed into the earth below her, but sheathed again when her startled eyes landed on the young leader. Another heartbeat passed as she tried to process his words.
xxxx"Oh.. I don't recall," she mumbled. "The past few days have just been so chaotic, I'm not sure I remember the last time I ate. Have you?"

xxxx"I..." Thunderheart's jaw opened and closed a couple times as he thought back on the past weeks. Could he even recall when he had slept, much less slept well? Even before these virtual plagues on their lives, Thunderheart had always been a restless soul. After what felt like an uncomfortably long pause, he admitted, "Well, Yellowflower, I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that. I trust you've slept as well as you can given these horrible circumstances?" He wasn't the greatest at small talk, preferring to focus himself on performing and commanding duties. So, as Vervainpaw approached and volunteered her help, Thunderheart relaxed and allowed himself to return to his normal state.
xxxx"Good morning, Vervainpaw," he greeted her, already assembling plans and instructions. "I would like for you to help gather numbers. Perhaps Crowmist can help you figure out who is well enough to meet."

xxxxThe three measly mice swung from his jaws as he reentered the gully, nodding his head to the various warriors and apprentices he passed. He trotted towards where Softflurry and Weaselflight had made themselves as comfortable as they could and placed the mice before the two elders. He did not know Softflurry that well, but was quite familiar with Weaselflight as he had been an elder of Moorclan for as long as Sunpaw could recall. The two seemed to enjoy one another's company as the only surviving elders, and that was plenty for Sunpaw to accept the remnants of Timberclan.
xxxx"Good morning," he said as cheerily as he could muster.

    [ she cat ] [ timberclan warrior ] [ mentioned. ghoststar, thunderheart ] [ tagged. open ]

despite her relentless exhaustion in light of recent events, insomnia gripped verglasheart like a death bite. she had fallen asleep just after moonhigh and the sun had not risen when she awoke. the image of her son and daughter in the fire haunted her tirelessly and her distrust of most cats around her made the she cat uneasy. she was not comfortable with ghoststar having assumed leader, especially in his young age, but she was somewhat comforted by thunderheart's position as deputy. he was a cat she trusted to lead and lead efficiently and he was from her own clan. in ghoststar's case, it was very difficult for verglasheart to put her faith in a leader who was only perhaps ten moons out of the apprentices' den, not to mention his rushclan blood. the white molly had considered sneaking away from the cats during the night to pursue a life as a loner, but she was discouraged from the idea. she was scared of seeing brambleberry again and deep down she needed the comfort of these cats around her who had shared the grief and pain of losing home and cats they held dear.

the warrior lay in the grass, silently watching the sun rise and doing her best to keep her eyes off of the burnt trees of her former home. regardless of her bitter acceptance of events prior, verglasheart missed her home dearly and all the cats they'd lost. never before did she picture herself sleeping beside rabbit chasers and those who spent their time pretending to be fish. it would take the feline a long while to trust cats she had battled in the past.

nevertheless, verglasheart tried her best to stay out of conflict with these cats. though not with much success, her emotions tended to get the better of her and she had argued and rose her voice already around them. out of everything she accepted, she refused to accept the possibility of living beside the other clans for a long period. and so the molly kept herself close to the other timberclan cats, still clinging to what they had only days prior.

[ tomcat ] [ rushclan apprentice ] [ mentioned. deadpaw, goosepaw, silentpaw, ghoststar, thunderheart, sunpaw ] [ tagged. open ]

it was the first morning since the destruction of the territories and sequoiapaw was understandably uneasy. the amount of unfamiliar faces around him made him feel slightly unsafe. yes he recognised some of the apprentices from gatherings, but he didn't know them. he was thankful deadpaw, goosepaw and silentpaw had survived the floods as he'd known them since kithood, having shared meals and even nests with them in the past. the ginger and white tomcat was also comforted by ghoststar's position as leader of the band of cats, at least he was from rushclan himself. thunderheart intimidated sequoiapaw, his constant stern expression and broad build combined with his foreign blood made the apprentice frightened to talk to him. the moorclan medicine cats intimidated him in a different way - he had nightmares about them feeding him deathberries.

despite all of these anxieties, sequoiapaw did his best to be there for all of the cats. even those of different backgrounds had suffered terribly by the recent events and so the rushclan brute wanted to be kind and more understanding. especially of those from moorclan, as they had the least in number with only a few of their cats surviving the shaking of the earth. it was miraculous both of their medicine cats made it through. as a result, the tom felt a mild inclination to treat every cat as if they were a rushclan cat, it helped him to see them more as equals. tension was thick in the air and they needed every positive mind they could get, and sequoiapaw tried to provide one.

due to his unease, he was up early. he'd spotted who he recalled as sunpaw from moorclan leaving the group, but felt it would be rude and imposing to follow the tom in his endeavours. so sequoiapaw sat where he'd slept, paws itching to do something but not wanting to abandon the group in case his mentor or any warrior saw him depart. the patched tom decided it would be best to sit and wait for the rest of the cats to arise and for ghoststar to announce today's plan. it was extremely strange knowing they had to drop their old routine in the old territory. it would be a long time before normal patrols and training sessions would resume, and it made him wonder whether this generation of apprentices would be late in receiving their warrior names.

    [ she cat ] [ moorclan warrior ] [ mentioned. fritillaryfur, acornpaw ] [ tagged. brokenwish ]

dahliapatch had managed to catch a skinny hare during her morning hunt. dew was still gathering on the grass when she left the cats to explore the gully for food. the air carried a cool breeze that did little to hide the scent of prey, a lot of it had scurried this way during the destruction. most of it must have continued fleeing however, as the only fresh scent was that of the hare hanging from her jaws. she intended to take it back to the other moorclan cats, it was at least a taste they were most familiar with. moorclan had been the hardest hit clan with only a few survivors, and dahliapatch was extremely grateful to have made it through. the calico felt they had been very lucky in the fact both of their medicine cats had survived. fritillaryfur was highly skilled in her art, and acornpaw was shaping into a fine medicine cat. the moorclan warrior didn't think she could trust anybody else to cure her ailments.

having always been a starclan skeptic, dahliapatch took this as almost fundamental truth that the ancestors the clans believed so strongly in didn't really exist. if they did, how could they put the clans through so much suffering? she felt a fiery rage within her belly at whatever force had demanded the cats leave their homes with so much grief in their hearts.

upon returning to the clustered cats, she spotted brokenwish sitting by her lonesome. the she cat was a relatively new warrior and had only shown the calico molly respect. dahliapatch appreciated and almost preferred the younger warriors, they were always less mocking of her former background and some of them were not even aware.
"good morning brokenwish!" she chirped around the hare. "have you had breakfast yet?" the calico feline dropped the hare on the floor, gesturing to it with her tail. "we can share if you want."

Ghoststar/Rushclan Leader/male/gay/single/Tags: Doefeather,Timberheart, Yellowflower, Vervainpaw

He tilted his head slightly and thought about the question. "well...no, im not sure." he tapped his left paw on the ground-a habit he did when thinking- before looking around the gully and turning to Doefeather. "ill leave this with you" he tapped the thin mouse. "i need to talk to Thunderheart" he then got up and padded off to the mouth of the gully where he had last seen the Timberclan warrior. he nodded to the two cats he was walking with, they were other Timberclan cats but he didn't know there names. "Thunderheart?...May i talk to you?"

Honeymist - tom - warrior - Timberclan - crush (open) - apprentice (open)
Talking with:
[]
He walked back to his new camp, still missing his old clan, but know very well that Timberclan was now gone so was his mate and kits. Sighing he made a quick look around seeing the new leader there, which was from Rushclan and the deputy which was from his old clan Timberclan, that was good, he wondered and took the two mice he was caught earlier to the pile.

Yellowflower - she - warrior - Timberclan - crush (Stormynight) - apprentice (open)
Talking with: Thunderheart
[]
She gave the deputy little hurt look about how he acted toward her, they were both in the same clan, so could they stuck together? She could understand if they were from different clans, but they were not. She sighed giving a small look to Vervainpaw "Yes I slept pretty well like a kit for a long time" she meowed silently, flicking her ears over the Ghoststar or at least the only alive leader for the three clans "You're needed so...I don't bother you any longer" she meowed to him and started to make her way away.

Brokenwish - she - warrior - Moorclan - crush (open) - apprentice (open)
Talking with: Dahliapatch
[]
She watched the new clan, the familiar yet not so familiar cats, there were not many from Moorclan, which didn't really matter, but sometimes she wondered if the rights cats stayed alive? Like her? Could she be better out as dead? She wondered. Her old leader who hated her and her family were dead, but there were still those who didn't see her anything else than a pile of trash. Sighing she turned to Dahliapatch "Hello, Dahliapatch" she meowed silently looking at her "I am not sure if eating now could be a right thing to do" she meowed to her, she was already used to be the last one who eats, it's not like she needed to do that, but she felt like she had to do that, the clan wanted her to suffer.

Silentpaw - she - apprentice - Rushclan - crush (Sunpaw) - mentor (Harestream)
Talking with:
[]
She was being up for some time she didn't really get any sleep for some reason, the den felt so hot, or was it just she just felt like she was being burned inside like a fireball. Sighing she took her tongue to her chest, to clear her white fur a little bit, her eyes turning o the cleaning and stopped to the young apprentice there. Sunpaw which was from Moorclan, was cathed her eyes for a while now, or at last after she meets him for the very first time.

Deadpaw - tom - apprentice - Rushclan - crush (open)- mentor (Applecloud)
Talking with:
[]
He is currently sleeping at his nest in apprentice's den.

Goosepaw - tom - apprentice - Rushclan - crush (open) - mentor (Ghoststar)
Talking with:
[]
He yawned before got up to his nest to shake his pelt before taking a look around the den. He noticed that his sister was already left as her nest was empty, but his brother Deadpaw was still sleeping on his nest, which didn't really surprise him at all. He could wake him up, but he didn't want to, he was tired of the bad behavior he had always when he tried to be a good brother and wake him up, so for now, he left him to sleep.

Feeling his mentor shift next to him, the apprentice awoke with a wide yawn. Stretching out his legs, the young tom stood up and used his paw to clean off some dirt on nose. Looking over at his mentor, he gave Fritillaryfur a smile. "Good morning, Fritillaryfur." He mewed before stretching out his back legs once more and shaking sleep out of his eyes.

Feeling his sister stir beside him, he looked down at his sister. " Morning Harestream." He mewed in greeting. Now that his sister was awake, he felt no need to stand guard over her, afterall, she could protect herself. Standing up, the tom stretched out his legs. Looking out at all the different cats, he noticed his friend, Creamflower enjoying a nice-looking piece of fish, even if it wasn't something Applecloud would've chosen for himself. Padding over to her, he bowed his head in greeting. "Morning Creamflower, how are you holding up in all of this?" The tom asked, sitting down across from her.

Spotting Verglasheart laying over in the grass by herself. Crowmist knew she had suffered quite a few losses in the past recent events and so he figured he'd go over to her, distract her from her thoughts if she so needed it. Padding over to the she-cat, he sat down across from her, keeping far enough away from her to not make her feel suffocated. "Morning, Verglasheart." He knew better than to say 'good morning' as they all knew it wasn't a very good morning. "How are you holding up?" He asked her kindly, in a way that said he didn't want to pry, just make sure she was okay.

Harestream yawned as she woke up. Noticing her brother, Applecloud, was already awake, she gave him a few gentle licks on his muzzle. "Morning, Applecloud," she mewed in greeting. When her brother dipped his head in goodbye, the she-cat went on to start grooming herself. She was still pretty dirty from the previous couple of days events, so she went to town on the cleaning, making sure to get every nook and cranny. Once satisfied, Harestream looked around. Spotting her old friend, Fritillaryfur with her apprentice, Acornpaw, the calico she-cat stood up and stretched out her leggings before padding over towards her friend. "Morning, Fritillaryfur!" Harestream mewed in greeting as she approached.

Softflurry was about to strike at him again when she heard approaching pawsteps, ears flicking as they picked up the noise. Not knowing the smell that came with it, the elder let out a hiss. "Who is it?" Softflurry asked with a scowl on her face. "It's just Sunpaw." She heard Weaselflight mew to her. She relaxed a bit, but her body language still held a bit of tension. After all, from what she could decipher, he was a Moorclan apprentice. Softflurry already wanted nothing to do with apprentices, much less one from Moorclan, despite the fact that was where Weaselflight was from.

The old tom saw Softflurry's ears flick before hearing the sound of approaching pawsteps. Looking over, he noticed Sunpaw coming towards them, mice hanging from his jaw. Of course Softflurry had heard him coming before her. Without the use of her eyes, she had trained her ears to be more sensitive than the average cat's, especially for an elder. Weaselflight ran his tail down Softflurry's flank. "It's okay, it's just Sunpaw." He turned to look at Sunpaw. "Morning, Sunpaw." He mewed in greeting. "Don't mind Softflurry, she doesn't mean it. Anyways, how are you holding?" He kindly asked the young tom.

Creamflower hears a voice and turns her head to see it was none other than Applecloud, one of RushClan's former warriors. "Hello Applecloud!" she greeted warmly. "Im still hanging in there thank you! It could be worse, but thankfully it hasnt! What about yourself and your sister? I feel as if you both had lost more than I did."

the fluffy white she cat looked up at a familiar voice. of all the cats that could have spoken to her this morning, she was glad it was crowmist. he was of timberclan and a cat she didn't mind conversing with. he was rather pleasant company and she could recall more than one fond memory including the tom. although she feared that her own banter-ish attitude towards their friendship was often misunderstood by the black brute, and she hoped he didn't take her jokes to heart.

"morning crowmist," verglasheart returned his greeting with a calm yet mildly warm tone. "i have seen better days i must admit, the sun seems weaker today." she had felt the chill when she awoke, a cold claw slithering through the grass and seeping through her thick fur to drag along her spine. she was unsure whether she was just being dramatic in light of what had happened, but she felt that even the wind was a sinister predator much like a badger or fox.

"how have you been?" the warrior inquired, returning her gaze to him after glancing at the territory they were leaving behind.

    [ she cat ] [ moorclan warrior ] [ mentioned. applecloud ] [ tagged. brokenwish ]

"nonsense!" the molly exclaimed with a chirp. "you can have it all, i can always go back out to hunt more." dahliapatch considered herself extremely lucky considering recent events. she hadn't lost anyone of significance to her life in the disasters that had shook her home, quite literally. and while she missed her old territory and the clanmates she had lost, she had no family or close friends to lose. due to this, the calico could felt she could hunt and provide for the new clan as she wasn't extremely weighed down by newfound grief. it was the least she could do considering the blessing bestowed upon her: her life.

besides, she wanted an excuse to go out with applecloud. after hearing of the tom's survival, dahliapatch was over the moon and since has had a spring in her step. the brute she felt so strongly for was her new clanmate, and it made her feel far less guilty for being so fond of him as she had in the past due to his rushclan heritage. the moorclan she cat was ecstatic to be able to spend more time with him and felt their relationship could really flourish and develop a lot faster now that they weren't just seeing each other once every moon. in spite of all of this, she tried not to get ahead of herself. after all, she wasn't even sure if the ginger and white warrior even reciprocated her feelings.

noticing she was getting sidetracked in her own brain, she turned her attention back to brokenwish. "seriously have the hare. i'll most likely be going back out again and besides, it'll just go stale if you leave it." she meowed with a warm smile, hoping she was encouraging enough to make the young warrior eat.
