description -- a large, long furred, smokey black tom with tired looking, dark yellow eyes. his pelt is criss crossed with scars that are mostly covered by his thick fur, with the most notable being a underneath his eye, and one over his left shoulder. he's muscular and rather tall.

darkstar is observant and calm under pressure, yet can come across as stern and somewhat cold, if not a little intimidating. however, he truly does care for his clanmates, and will willingly lay down his life for them if the need arises. he doesn't like rushing into things, and can be a little skeptical, and much prefers to plan things out instead of rushing in head first.

The sun was slowly rising, shining light into the once dark forest. As it rose, life started up within the greens; the birds started to chirp away their morning songs, the undergrowth was alive with the sounds of prey and the clan that called it their home was prosperous and well... something needs to change.

Letting out a loud yawn, a cat arose from their nest and walked out of their den, blinking the morning sunlight out of their eyes before glancing around the camp. Stretching their legs out, the cat’s ears swiveled towards the sound of their name being called from across the camp. Waving his tail, the apprentice called their name again and the cat got to their paws and walked over, curious about what the apprentice needed them for.

“Want to join me in collecting herbs? I think I found the perfect spot to collect some catmint,” the medicine apprentice asked, as he then awaited the others response, which was a slight nod and soon they were off on their mission to collect the precious herbs.

As they went further and further into the forest, it started to get darker and darker and soon the ThunderClaner thought they kept seeing flashes of blue or white light in the corner of their eyes, but they shook their head and continued on in following the apprentice before they arrived at one of the many herb spots they needed to go too.

Glancing around, still on edge, the cat opened their mouth to talk, but instead a cloud of light mist entered their body, causing them to stumble backwards and into the medicine cat apprentice.

“[redacted]? Is everything okay?” Wigeonpaw asked, concerned for his clanmate but the other just gave him a smile and nodded their head.

“Of course, never better, now why don’t we go collect some more?” The cat asked as they watched Wigeonpaw nod and turn around, focusing on collecting the much needed medicine. The cat then placed a sickening grin upon their face as they slowly stalked closer towards the young apprentice, their claws unsheathed as they got closer and closer until....

“Wigeonpaw?” The killer called out and the apprentice realized all too late his mistake as a perfectly timed and place slash was all it took to take the words out of the poor apprentice's mouth, leaving him on the forest floor, struggling to hold onto anything.

“W-w-w....hy.....” the tabby struggled to say as his eyes grew wider as the killer leaned their face down to the other’s ear.

“Because, ‘darkness is coming and thunder will sound one last time before silence falls’,” the murder hissed before leaving the apprentice to ponder on the words, the last words he’d hear before his spirit left to join the clan in the sky.

As the killer walked away from the scene, they went towards a stream and washed all the evidence from themselves before starting on their way back to camp, stopping to kill a vole so it looked less suspicious than if they returned empty-pawed.

One cat down, thirteen to go. Will you be able to stop them before the prophecy comes true?

Wolfpaw sat up abruptly, wobbling a bit as he caught his balance. “I’m up.” He purred to no one in particular. He took a moment to actually wake up before hopping up onto three legs, and rushing out to look for his mentor, Juniperpounce. Wolfpaw had come into the clan several moons before, unsure and afraid. He’d vowed to be the best he could be, to prove that he wouldn’t be a burden because of his missing leg. From time to time, he missed his human - what the clans called two-legs - but he was happy here.

A golden tabby padded out of the warrior's den, letting out a yawn. Juniperpounce paused outside the entrance to the den and stretched, letting the sun warm her pelt. She took a moment to glance around the camp, in search of her apprentice, Wolfpaw. Luckily for her, he was already up. She thought for a moment, wondering who to assign to the dawn patrol. Juniperpounce padded up to her apprentice, "Good morning, Wolfpaw." She greeted him, tail gently swishing behind her, "We'll be going on the dawn patrol soon, most likely with Aspenfang and Ravenpaw" Wolfpaw's sibling, if she remembered correctly.

Wolfpaw skidded to a halt as Juniperpounce came from the warriors den, standing somewhat impatiently waiting for her to notice him. When she did, he nodded happily. “I’m ready whenever you are! I’ll go get Ravenpaw.” He turned on his hind legs, hopping back to the apprentice den. “Ravenpaw, get up. We have dawn patrol with our mentors!”

The she-cat nodded and her apprentice skid into the apprentice's den, Juniperpounce doing the same to the warrior's den. She poked her head inside, glancing around for a moment before trotting into the den and gently prodding Aspenfang with her paw, "Hey, we'll be going on the dawn hunting patrol." She whispered, careful not to wake any of the other cats with her words. During this time, Juniperpounce also took note of the other warriors, wondering which ones to put on the border patrol.

xxThe calico warrior awoke in his nest, tail curled over his snout. He flicked it away, getting to his paws and spying Juniperpounce prodding Aspenfang awake. "Good morning," Avocetwhisker said quietly, before dodging a warrior still sleeping in their nest as he was making his way out of the warriors' den. It was early morning, and clearly he was one of the first cats up. Weak dawn sunlight illuminated the camp, and the bluing sky was cloudless. No one was visible, but he could hear voices in the dens.

A nightmare about predatory mice the size of dogs came to a fitting conclusion as a paw prodded at the silver molly's fur. She startled awake with a soft hiss, but quickly regained her composure when she realized she was not, in fact, about to be eaten by an enormous mouse. As it turned out, that mouse was none other than Juniperpounce, who had come to recruit Aspenfang for dawn patrol.
"Alright, I'm coming.", Aspenfang whispered back, making no effort to hide her irritation at the sudden wakeup call.
Her green eyes shifted from side to side as she sat up in her nest, searching for hints that anyone else might have seen her less-than-flattering first moments awake. Aspenfang was starting off her day in a rather sour mood and having to explain herself would only worsen it. It seemed some nests were already empty, but, unfortunately, some were not.
