Stormysky sighed, and resigned herself to taking the prey back herself. That's what you get for catching so much prey while out alone, she told herself.

"Herbs?" Mousepaw turned to face the voice. She was surprised to see Crystalgaze and Cedarblossom. "I'd love to help! Just tell me what you did and I'll go!" Mousepaw's tail flicked in excitement. This was finally her chance to show of her herb knowledge, but a funny feeling inside her stomach caused her to take a step back from the medicine cats. Mousepaw shook her head slightly and stepped forward again, trying to forget the feeling.

Crystalgaze purred at the little she-cat's enthusiasm. A warrior with herb knowledge was never a bad thing, and often meant extra paws to help her when she needed it.

The slim, tabby molly had busied herself hunting crabs and cracking them open for the elders and kits that morning, and was now double-checking that everything was running smoothly. Official dawn patrols were now arriving back, and she recalled a few cats setting out to hunt on their own, herself included. She would have to check with Snakejaw that they arrived back. She blinked slowly at Doeleap, who was studded with black feathers for some reason, but saw that Orchidleap, and apparently those two kits, were helping her out. Crystalgaze appeared to be enlisting Mousepaw to work alongside her own apprentice stocking herbs - should be fine, as Stormysky was presumably still out hunting.

A grin spread across her muzzle at Beepaw's reply, before she too heard a quiet purr and bouncy footsteps approaching. Lightningpaw's excited mew met her ears, and she turned to smile at the ginger molly, her ears twitching with amusement at the other apprentice's acute enthusiasm. "Better than swimming?" she asked, whiskers flicking with mock shock. "I have to hear this!"

The warrior's long striped tail flicked in surprise as Doeleap approached, fur speckled with several clumps of large eagle feathers. "That must have been some catch," they purred. Shaking off Redkit, they plucked a feather from the ground and threw it to the two kits. While they tackled each other trying to get it, he scanned the other warrior. The lynx's thick fur was matted with the feathers. Rolling their eyes, they reached out to flick a few from her side. "This is a mess," they laughed, sitting beside Doeleap to help her remove them.

Mousepaw paused for a moment to think. "I think I know the basics. About spider webs and borage and catmint! Probably more but if I listed them all we'd be here for forever!" The cream and brown apprentice chirped happily. She flicked her tail in excitement. Everything about this mission seemed fun. Herbs! No fighting! Learning! Perfect!

The ginger apprentice immediately jumped to his feet almost as soon as he realized it was Wildfang. By this point his energy was practically making him shake. He needed to do something, soon. "Goodmorning, Wildfang! Or- well its Evening, not the point! Are we going to do something today??"

His was standing as tall as he possibly could, nearly bouncing on his paws. Patchpaw was fine to do anything at this point, even if that meant something boring, as long as he got to do something. At least, until he gets distracted again.

Rainpaw gently lifted up a paw to touch one of her ears. She shook herself. No time to think about hunger, or the beach. She needed to find Gingermist, her mentor. She forced her fur to lay flat at the thought of leaving the camp. She found the reddish brown molly standing in camp. She walked up in front of her mentor. "Gingermist! Can you take me out?"

xxxCrystalgaze headed up the cliffside, her apprentice and Mousepaw behind. She was lucky to have such a skilled and dedicated apprentice. Cedarblossom had proven herself a fantastic medicine cat plenty of times before - it was good to know her clan would be in such capable paws after her time.
xxx"Of course, we need more of almost everything, but the most important herbs right now are ones for wounds. It's unlikely we'll be getting many sick cats now that leaf-bare is over, and I'm sure the warriors will be doing more battle training now that they'll have prey to fill their bellies with." Crystalgaze made one last leap, then started towards the forest. "Blackberry leaves, willow bark, dock, burdock root, nettles, that sort. Perhaps some borage and burnet for the queens."

xxx"Oh, Stormysky!" she meowed, "I'm borrowing Mousepaw for a little while, if that's okay. Basically the whole herb stock needs replacing."

Stormysky placed her prey on the forest floor for a moment, nodding her greeting to the three she-cats.

I've still got some more prey to bring back, but once we're both done I was thinking we might do some battle training on the beach. It can be difficult to get your footing in the sand, but that's all the more reason to practise!"

Beepaw glanced back at the beach, spotting Cherryfall. Once Lightningpaw's 10 minutes is over, I'll go to Cherryfall for training too, they decided. At Fadingpaw's splash, they narrowed their eyes.
xxx"Oh, so that's how it's gonna be, is it, Fadingpaw?" she purred, tail flicking, then leapt towards the other apprentice, drenching her with the splash she made. "We only have 10 minutes, so let's make it worthwhile!" They were sure that even if they got drenched they'd dry during training, the afternoon sun was so warm.

Starlingpaw didn't recall seeing Nightfrost yet, maybe she had left for an early patrol? She shrugged, figuring she would find her when they headed back to camp. Laughing, she pounced in the shallows, sending spray flying over all of them. She waded deeper, whiskers dripping. The cool water felt incredibly refreshing, being a black cat she felt the heat a lot.

"Who knows? they laughed. "I wouldn't recommend leaping off the cliff to test it!" The feathers were falling everywhere at this point, so the tabby swept a few up with a flick of their tail. "However, you seem to have given double to the clan with this: prey, and this'll make great bedding! Foxtail will probably demand at least half of it."
