N O T X A C C E P T I N G .

OceanClan is a clan of cats who live by the sea, their camp made in caves carved out of the rocky cliff-side that walls the beach off. Their borders are easily defensible are relatively inaccessible - ocean from the north and east sides, a river from the ocean for their south, and a steep mountainside on their west. Their territory is diverse, from sandy beach, to springy woodland, to rocky mountain.

A typical OceanClan cat is a cat of many talents - many of them enjoy swimming, and getting from one place in the territory to another often requires making your way through rocky, difficult terrain, making them terrific at climbing and jumping. Because of the rocks, it is rare to find an OceanClan cat with soft paws.

ⅰ/ no being your own mate/mentor/apprentice.

ⅲ/ over a week of inactivity without notice will result in your character being removed from the allegiances. if you are playing a high rank please post at least 4 times a week.

ⅳ/ one high rank per person, including medicine cat apprentice. deputies must be at least 24 moons (2 years) and leaders at least 36 (3 years). 72+ moons (6 years) is a senior warrior.

ⅴ/ some warriors, queens, kits, & elders are npcs, meaning anyone can use them as they wish (patrols, general scene setting, apprentice duties, etc.). kits will turn into apprentices once somebody asks to play them.

ⅵ/ no more than 4 cats per person. don't make more characters than you can keep up with. make them as unbalanced gender-wise as you like though, i don't mind if you play all girls or anything.

ⅶ/ you're welcome to make your form as fancy as you like, but please make sure it has basic information (age, rank, appearance description) and keep it mobile friendly.

ⅰ/ the beach. cats come here to relax, warm their fur, swim, and occasionally train here when learning to fight on unstable ground. right next to the camp, elders, queens, and other cats unable to make the climb from the beach to the forest come out on the beach to get some fresh air and sun.

ⅱ/ oceanclan camp. oceanclan camp is made up of the larger caves in the cliff-side, with the elders' den, nursery, and medicine cat's den in ground-level caves, apprentices' and warriors' den in caves a little higher, and the leader's den at the top. to avoid getting sand all through the freshkill pile, freshkill is kept in a small cave in between the elders' den and the nursery.

ⅲ/ the cliffs. although easy enough for warriors and experienced apprentices to scale, the cliffs separating the forest from the beach make it difficult, if not impossible, for elders, heavily pregnant queens, kits, and sick cats to make their way to the forest, oceanclan's main source of prey. for this reason, the cliffs are treated as a sort of indicator of rank changes - when a queen can no longer make the trip, it's time for her to start sleeping in the nursery; when a warrior becomes too old to make the trip, they should begin to consider retiring. an apprentices first trip to the forest is an important and exciting day, indicating the beginning of their journey as a warrior.

ⅳ/ the forest. the forest is full of prey, and so is where most of the hunting is done. additionally, it's where most of an apprentice's training takes place. an apprentice's first trip to the forest is almost always spent exploring - little training gets done when the apprentices are in a brand new environment they've never seen before.

ⅴ/ the mountainside. very few cats travel here - the most dangerous predators reside here, and there's little cover to protect themselves. the mountainside is mostly seen as a very handy border, and a prey source if prey is scarce.

ⅵ/ the river. an easy source of prey if you're quick enough, the river is the favoured gossip spot of many senior warriors. being invited to lay on the sun-warmed rocks by a senior warrior is considered a privilege, and apprentices and younger warriors tend to keep their distance, staying by the unoccupied areas ofthe riverbank to fish.

ⅶ/ the mooncave. an ocean cave filled with luminous blue stone, medicine cats visit twice a moon to speak with starclan. this is also the place where new leaders come to receive their nine lives. getting here requires a bit of a swim, but only through calm, shallow water.

Stormysky sunned herself on the riverbank, resting after a morning of hunting. Newleaf had been particularly kind to them, and nearby she had buried quite an impressive amount of prey to take back to the freshkill pile. Idly, she hoped someone would pass by and help her carry it back - getting it all back down the cliff-side to camp would take multiple trips on her own. Still, for now she was content to let the afternoon sun warm her side.

She was particularly proud of this catch - it had almost lifted her off the ground, flapping it's wings like mad, before she had dealt the killing blow. Feathers stuck to her coat, and she thought that perhaps she'd find someone to share tongues with after she'd dropped her catch on the freshkill pile, if anyone was around.

Beepaw sped out of the elders den as quickly as they could muster, nose wrinkled. She has been assigned elder duty, again, but she was finished, finally. Mousewhisker and Foxtail both had new bedding and no ticks, and Beepaw needed to rinse her paws of mousebile, like, yesterday.

Official dawn patrols were now arriving back, and she recalled a few cats setting out to hunt on their own, herself included. She would have to check with (deputy) that they arrived back. Arching her back, fur rippling along her spine, she glanced around to spot any late returning warriors.

Ears pricking, Orchidleap glanced up at the two kits tumbling towards them and grinned. They hopped to their paws and began tickling the two tiny cats with their striped tail. The two kits pounced and laughed, jumping for it's tip with mock hunting moves.

The female warrior had just returned from a solo hunt, having missed the patrols, figured spending her time feeding the clan was the next best solution for the day! Beepaw was dealing with the elders this morning, so she spent her time in the forest catching whatever scent she picked up. However, due to her clumsiness she only managed to catch a Sparrow and a rather small mouse, but prey is prey and its better to return to camp with something than nothing.

As her paws felt the transition from rough cliff to soft sand, she closed her eyes and let out a soft purr. Feeling the warmth on your fur was always a nice feeling, but one mustn't dilly dally, Beepaw must surely be done with the elders by now.

His ears were perked, listening and turning his head to any cat that passed him then flattening when he realized it wasn't someone he could bother for the day. The apprentice had overslept, and the fact that he was able to do so in the first place had his surprise. Patchpaw had mused over the idea of just leaving camp, to go and do... well anything to get his energy out, however, he also realizes he hasn't exactly done anything worthwhile yet, and he knew better than to be leisure before duties.

XXXXXX» Snakehawk began stretching a bit, he just finished dropping a bit of prey at the pile from a morning's hunt. Shrugging, getting a bit bored wondering what to do at the moment. XXXXXX» Wildfang continued his search for prey, he began walking deeper into the forest until he heard a bit of footsteps, he immediately turned his eye to the shrew and a few seconds later he had a prey in jaws. He didn't want to return with just a shrew but knowing he had an apprentice to train wouldn't allow him to take up any more time. Shrugging, he began to walk back to the camp where his apprentice should be by now; it is evening after all.

↳ As Wildfang made his way down to the camp, he immediately spotted his apprentice at the Camp Entrance. He first dropped off the shrew in the prey-pile then padding over to the younger tom " Goodmorning, Patchpaw. " he said looking down at the ginger apprentice. He then waited for his response, though he was a little eager to do something getting a little impatient every second despite just being off of a task for a single second. He shrugged a bit, of course he's very proud of his apprentice and enjoys seeing him he just prefers to be working right now.

XXXXXX» Gingermist was in the forest, she began looking around at the nature she decided to catch a quick prey for the Clan while she was at it. She didn't see anything yet, but the more she walked in the Forest, the more sounds she picked up with her ears. She walked further in and saw a squirrel, it was a bit faster than usual and a couple of twigs smacked her on the chase but she managed to catch it in her claws.

↳ She then dropped the prey off in the prey-pile, wondering what else to do. Perhaps she'll go find someone to talk to or just find a patrol or continue the hunt maybe even explore the forest or something similar.

XXXXXX» The Ginger Tabby just couldn't keep still, she was at the camp jumping around with loads of excitement. She just couldn't contain herself, though it wouldn't make a lightningpaw without her raiding energy and speed. She was a little curious to see where Finnegan went, she hadn't seen him around camp yet. She decided to check out the beach to see if he was there first. She made her way to the beach feeling the warm sand on her paws causing her to purr a bit. She turned her head to another direction and saw more cats, it looked like they were about to do something. She knows she's supposed to be looking for Finnegan but she was a little to tempted to check.

↳ " Goodmorning everyone! " She meowed hoping she didn't interrupted. " What are you guys doing? If it's something exciting may I join? " She asked her eyes glimmering a bit with excitement looking at the three other mollies. She was getting a little worked up again, but like said before, it wouldn't make a Lightningpaw by going a single second without moving or getting excited.

She had spend the morning out doing apprentice things and was just taking a slight rest before she had to go out again. When she came to think about it, the fluffy apprentice hadn't seen her mentor Stormysky in a while. Perhaps she should go looking for her. Mousepaw picked herself up and arched her back. She shook her head slightly before flexing her claws into the soft sand.
