haha sorry for posting again after such a long winded one, but I can def give you some advice here!

Unfortunately, I never had the money to like buy all the manga nor are they at my libraries, and I don't have hulu for the anime. Thus, I've resorted to using websites! If you'd like I can PM you links to the movies and manga and give you some tips.

As for really getting into it, I'd say pick a medium to start with if you already haven't. If you've started from the anime, you can choose to continue with that and wait for more, or you can finish it and pick up in the manga where it leaves off. That's what I did at least around the middle of season 2. Also, personally, the art in the manga improves so much and a lot of characters like Dabi and Hawks look better in them. Being a manga reader just means you know more than those who watch the anime lol. But, the manga is very far ahead at this point, so there is plenty of content to enjoy. If you're looking to get into the fandom, I don't have much for you. Just find some sensible artists on your favorite social media and it goes from there.

Manga spoilers: AAA yeah, I still love Hawks, but it STILl HURTS,, i just wanted the best for him.... Shigaraki is pretty cool and I love his contrast with Izuku. They're really becoming like this new embodiment of All for one and the first one for all's relationship. I'm just really nervous for the next few chapters, I'm honestly filled with dread b/c I think someone iS gonnA DIE (well more than there already has been).

━━ i've also played a lot of OJ2 ! haven't played any of the first game though.
i mostly just play casually with friends because i would definitely get destroyed online right now. xD;
currently making my way through the villain storyline.

i have also watched Heroes Rising ! i saw it in theaters, actually. i really loved it a lot.
it was fun to watch. it was really cool to see post-MVA villains and Hawks animated for
the first time. when i saw Tomura's hand and jacket, i may have whapped my friend a
bunch in excitement haha. not to mention hearing Hawks' voice finally !! he sounded exactly like i expected.

also it's totally valid if Vigilantes didn't completely snag your attention ! honestly, i didn't plan on
reading it myself. i originally started it for Aizawa's backstory but got sucked into it without realizing it.
definitely makes some canon events hit harder when you've read through it. it's incredible the way they're
able to keep everything so connected like they have. it's super intense currently where it is though. so
being caught up on both it and the main manga is wild. if anyone else does start reading it tho, i'd love to hear anyone else's thoughts ! ovo

Twice's death is beyond heartbreaking, everything about it makes me wanna cry a;sldkfgjhg.
especially because i adore both him and Hawks. it's sadder to me when i think about how
Twice may very well have been one of Hawks' first or more genuine relationships in his life. Hawks makes me sad.

i'm also both intrigued and terrified to see how Shiggy might react to learning about Twice.
i'm not sure how caught up in the manga everyone is -- i'm as far caught up as i can be until
the new chapter comes out in three days. but to be as vague as possible -- i think Tomura
learning about losing one of the people he really genuinely cares about is going to be really awful for the heroes.

on the subject of potential deaths -- again, being a little vague but i am near certain we will. it feels less of an
if, and more of a when at this point. i'm wondering if Hori will kill a student off.

also i have to agree with paperjack on the subject of getting more into the franchise !
i started with Vigilantes and then eventually picked up the manga after watching the Overhaul arc.
i actually decided to go read the main manga from the beginning, because i felt like it would feel
cooler to read it all in one go. also the main series is on-going, so there's never a lack of content !
infact, there's a new chapter coming out in three days.

i would also recommend checking out things like the Smash manga or the School Briefs
novel -- quasi-canon and mostly for fun, but still super enjoyable to read.

when it comes to jumping more into the fandom itself, browsing fanart and fics can be a nice way to start.
just know what you're looking for; it can help to avoid finding some other things you might not be interested in.
reading fan theories or headcanons can be fun too; or even watching fan edits on Instagram or AMVs on YouTube !
i also enjoy watching My Hero cosplayers on TikTok too.

after reading back the manga,, I realized that season 4 drops out a lot of important stuff from the manga. It was already jarring bc of it's weird pace, but I recalled some things not being there. Rip anime-only watchers, there is a lot of important information and great interactions they apparently don't deserve to get. In season 3 I was very sad they swapped my favorite comedy moment for a really serious Izuku thinking scene, but that was about it. S4 just takes it to a whole new level lol, or maybe they're just building up to the next arc in a way I don't rlly understand.

Manga spoilers for S4-ish and a tiny rant (bc these scenes weren't in the anime at all): Like Izuku and Mirio's chat was completed chucked out the window, and that was a pretty integral thing to Izuku's character. Also the scenes where they came back to the dorms and everyone worried over them and it gave more depth to a lot of chars? Chucked out. I get that they need to crunch stuff into the limited amount of episodes, but I think a lot of other stuff could've been cut down. The season felt SO dragged out and boring in a lot of places that I'm surprised I didn't know that much was missing. ANd yeah...I think the audience knowing Kurogiri is in custody is damn important for the next arc, so it was weird to not see it there and us just cruising on to Endeavor and Hawks after the Festival. First half of the season was not by any means as suspenseful as it was in the manga, nor as good to be frank. I'm really starting to understand the whole "manga vs. anime" stuff, b/c the anime botches a lot of great things like how Bakugo uses makeup to fill in his mask. In the manga he actually looks pretty but the anime just hates drawing him correctly and it makes me visceral.

━━ it is a shame that a good chunk of things from the manga doesn't always make
the cut into the anime. i started reading the manga after S4 ended and decided to
start from the beginning because i was curious about the anime vs. manga differences.
even though the changes can range from being slight to major, it definitely hits different to read everything in the manga.

i definitely agree. i was sad we didn't get the brief flash of Tamaki calling out Mirio's name
from a different part of the base when Mirio lost his Quirk. it's a shame that cutting stuff
out like that can so drastically impact an anime-only's view on some of the characters too.
not to mention how censored the anime itself can be compared to the manga. i felt like a
lot of the grittiness of some scenes is cut down significantly. which does make sense, but it
feels like it takes away from how dark this series can get sometimes. worries me a little bit
for when MVA is animated; i really hope they don't censor that arc too heavily.
