She opened her eyes when the light entered the empty den, six moons were passed and she was still there alone, well there was not that old or injured cats yet, so there could not anyone to join her anytime soon anyway. She was still seriously thinking the Littleflower's words about her having kits, but she didn't have any luck for a tom who could be ready for that, most of them wanted a mate to have kits or at last, had some feelings for the mother. She was even thinking for a loner tom, but that could be way too risky to her and where she could find a loner tom now.

He watched the three energetic kits, which was not his own, but they sure felt like they were, he liked the idea to being their father. He nodded to the Stagleap words to Silverkit "yes, I think so too, you know that Foxcloud's kit is six moons old, they will need to prepare for their apprentice ceremony soon" he meowed to them, keeping his voice down for some reason. He looked at Stagleap, giving her a lick back "maybe we could get ready for the upcoming ceremony, whenever that is? You don't want to miss your first apprentice ceremony do you?" he meowed to the kits.

A deep sight escaped to her mouth, without realizing it first she was started to have odd feelings toward the black tom, but after seeing him with Splashfeather, made her feel guilty about her growing feelings.

The leader bunched her haunches and sprang, landing lightly on the ground beside him. She gave him an affectionate touch on the shoulder with her muzzle. “Good morning, Blizzardclaw.” She flicked her ringed tail towards the nursery. “Don’t send out any patrols quite yet. Once the camp comes alive, I’ll be assigning mentors to Creamflower’s apprentices. A very exciting day for her, Sunflare, and their little ones.” The queen purred softly - it was two moons ago that she had done the same for her own kits, and she could never forget how her heart swelled with pride as she watched them take their first steps from camp with Elmshade and Riverstripe.

W h e n Splashfeather reminded the jet-black tom that they couldn’t escape hunting quite yet because they didn’t want to miss the kits’ apprentice ceremony that Jackdawstrike agreed to stay in camp. “Well, we’ll go watch the ceremony then. Let’s pick a sunny patch,” he replied to the tortoiseshell. As the two began to head out of the den he felt eyes on him. Glancing back, he realized it was Raccoontuft that had been watching him. He had trained with the queen, though he hadn’t seen her much until he had joined the warriors’ den a moon after her. Jackdawstrike waved his tail in greeting, wondering if perhaps the older warrior felt left out. “Want to come watch the ceremony with us, Raccoontuft? Who knows, maybe you’ll get an apprentice. I hope I do.” The tom’s broad shoulders lifted as he puffed out his chest in pride. He thought he would be a fine mentor - after all, he had learned from Tigerblaze, one of the most skilled senior warriors of OakClan.

She had been a warrior for several moons now, and had yet to train an apprentice. Her mate was quite a bit younger than herself, so he hadn’t, either. OakClan’s kits were few and far between. Sometimes that pricked at her mind - shouldn’t she and her mate be preparing to have a litter themselves for the sake of the Clan? It was a terrifying thought to Dappleleaf; she knew kitting was a painful process, and it meant giving her duties up for six moons. She almost hoped she would be assigned an apprentice if only to stave off any questions from Weaselstripe about when they would have a litter.

A s warmth left her side, Acornspots woke up. The silver tabby sat up, doing a quick headcount, and sighing when she realized that some of her kits had vanished. Russetswirl’s voice outside of the den told her where they were. She gently uncurled from around her remaining kits and padded towards the hollow’s opening. “Pinekit! Applekit!” The queen’s tone was firm as she padded to her mate’s side, giving her kits a motherly, stern look. “And just what are you two doing out of the nursery so early? You know better.”

He had never forgiven the queen though he missed her everyday. He avoided the nursery all together, and most of his Clanmates. Especially the toms - Foxcloud had refused to reveal the father, which meant it could be any of them. He still trusted a few, of course - Southstar and Daydream especially. He knew that the Clan leader and medicine cat would never do anything like that. The ginger-and-white cat had found himself rising from his nest later and later, and even now he screwed his eyes shut and tried to force himself back to sleep.

Robinwind looked over to where Beestar sat on the branch, talking with Blizzardclaw. Today was a big day for the clan, so it made sense. He would have to tell them both about his plan to give Ivypaw her full name later. It was nice that it was green-leaf, and there was a lot less worries he had at the moment, at least in terms of sick cats. Their herb stocks were full, which was great. All that meant that there was no rush to run any errands before the ceremony. Robinwind smiled, slipping by Creamflower and her kits to grab two mice from the fresh-kill pile. He headed towards Lighttail, setting down the prey and giving the elder a warm smile. "Hi Lighttail, I brought you some food." Robinwind sat down and took a bite of one of the mice. "Camp already feels so exciting, huh. It's always a good day when cats are made apprentices, isn't it?"

"Probably today, right?" Elmshade replied to Hazefire, looking over to Artemis for confirmation. "You had your assessment, didn't you? And you've seemed to be doing really well, from what I can see!" She had been a bit caught up with training Stormpaw recently to really know for sure, she hadn't paid that much attention to what the other mentors were doing.

"I wish it could be Riverstripe, but he already has an apprentice." Poppykit said, "It would be really cool if you had Blizzardclaw though!" He told his adopted brother. Then he nodded to Creamflower's suggestion. He licked his lips and followed his mother and Fawnkit out to the fresh-kill pile. He was hungry, and he'd need a lot of energy today! He would be an apprentice soon! Catching up with Creamflower, he looked at the fresh-kill pile. "Want to share something?" He asked Fawnkit and Creamflower, pulling a squirrel off the top of the pile.

Applekit pouted as Russetswirl scolded her and Pinekit. "Fiiiine." She mewed, flicking her tail about. "Do I have to go back in?" She asked, then looked up as Acornspots came out of the nursery. "Sorry." She said. "I just wanted to get some fresh air." She looked down to her paws, feeling silly for getting in trouble. Now both her father and mother had scolded her. How embarrassing!

Smokekit rolled over on top of Lilackit in retaliation for the teasing, sticking his tongue out in retaliation. "Hey!" He squeaked. "I'm not lazy! I just like being warm!" He huffed, though he was a bit unsure about going out of the nursery. He pawed at his sister's ears playfully, but looked up when Messfur spoke. "Oh! No! I want to see the ceremony!" He tumbled off of Lilackit, excited.

Streamspot left the leaders den after speaking with Southstar. Looking at the cats already starting to gather around the center of camp she decided she had better not stall what she had to do any longer. She looked up at the leaders highrock and gave herself a moment to steel her nerves before launching herself upwards onto the rock and steadying herself. "Let all cats old enough to hunt gather beneath the high rock for a clan meeting!"

Bearsong nudged her shoulder gently with her muzzle. "I'm sure it will be here sooner than you think. Robin wind knows how important you are to the clan." When Ivypaw asked to go closer she nodded. "Definitely!" She mowed getting to her paws. "I wonder what Beestar will choose as a name for Artemis."

Bramblekit looked thoughtful as Brightkit asked them about their mentors. He swallowed his mouthful of food before responding. "I'm not sure. I just hope they want to train me to be the strongest cat in the forest." He meowed his chest puffing outwards with pride as he thought of himself as a big strong warrior. When he heard Streamspots call his tail stuck straight out behind him. "Its time!" He squeaked. He quickly licked behind Redkits ear and then twisted his neck to lap down his own pelt quickly. "Let's go!" He mowed jumping to his paws and racing to the front of camp.

Pinekit looked at his paws as first Russetswirl and then Acornspots scolded him. He felt his ears fall under their disappointed gaze. He hated upsetting them. "Sorry" he mumbled. He shot a disgruntled look at Applekit clearly blaming her for getting in trouble. When he heard Streamspots call his ears perked back up. "Can we go watch?" He asked hopefully his eyes flicking between his two parents.

Lilackits breath was knocked out of her as Smokekit rolled on top of her. "Southstar is going to make your warrior name Sleepyhead!" She teased back as she pummeled his belly with her hind feet. When he got up and ran off to see the meeting she followed right on his heels.

Creamflower watches the kits choose a piece of prey before grabbing a fish for herself, purring in anticipation to eat it. She pads back towards the nursery and lays down before eating it, savoring the delicious taste.

She got out of the elder's den after hearing the deputy calling for a clan meeting, the kits will become apprentices now she thought. She didn't walk far from the den, just enough to see the deputy and the others, her eyes looked over to the kits there with a smile.

He looked the medicine cat who bought him some prey again, he did that very often, well at last someone care for the useless one. He looked the prey then around the cleaning "hmm I guess so, the time just moves too fast...it's kind of sad, you open your eyes at the very first time, then you're training to become a warrior, soon you're a warrior and before you even know it, your elder's den waiting for Starclan cats to pick you up" he meowed sighing.

With her former crush on Swiftbadger falling flat as the queen quickly learned he wasn't interested in her as such, she had grown apart from him. In time though she hoped their friendship would recover but for now she did need space for her to get over it and though she overall had in that time she managed to begin her own feelings for another. Deertail and her were closer than ever in the past moons, them both grieving over their own losses as he found out Foxcloud had betrayed him. Foxcloud purred once and nodded her head once as she began having part of a mouse contently while she watched her kits. "I'm sure the younger kits are all in good health but yes you probably should check on them," the queen agreed before she heard Streamspot call the meeting. She quickly made sure that all her kits looked great before leading them towards the front of the meeting, glancing back at them to make sure they all were following. Redkit thought about Brightkit's question as he felt the same way that Bramblekit did. He wanted the strongest warrior to train him as he hoped that one day he could become leader which seemed to be quite similar to his brother, part of him really thought they had to be had to be as they were both very similar. He had known that Lighttail hadn't been happy about becoming an elder, after all, he was rather young still, but his injuries had made it so he wasn't able to be a warrior anymore.
