What is their favorite activity?Mosswillow had learned from a young age how to properly hunt, kill, and eat amphibians. She grew up in swampland with her two siblings, at the time called Jade and Jester. Her original name was Jasmine. Their parents lived for the land, and of its inhabitants. They were fearless, and nothing surprised them after living their entire lives there. The main prey included amphibians, birds, and the occasional mole rat. Her favorite game to play with her siblings was simply called ‘Chase the Frog.’ It was still her favorite activity even in her adult years, and her fondest memories included ones where they played that game. However, they played it a bit differently than one would expect.
The game did involve chasing a frog, but not in a conventional sense. To chase a frog, they believed they must become the frog. The only rule was to be as frog-like as possible while trying to catch a frog. They didn’t always eat the ones they caught, for they never killed for pleasure. Mosswillow always seemed to get second place to her brother Jester, who had mastered the technique far earlier than she had. They would hover their hind parts over the ground, bringing their front legs very close to their stomachs, and then they would leap. Most times they would go higher than the frog, therefore forcing them to control their leap. Once they leapt, they had to land in the position they had started. They would hop continuously after frogs for hours, complaining later about how sore their legs were. But it was always worth it. They would do variations of the game to make it more interesting, such as competing to see who could catch the first frog or competing to see who could catch the most. Once, they even played a water version, where they couldn’t leave the water or they lost.
Their parents often sat back to watch them all play, always being so laid back and supportive in nature. Those two were always so happy in the company of one another and their living environment. Mosswillow had always strived to be the same type of comfortable in an environment of her own. She didn’t mind the swamp at all, but her heart yearned to wander, and she had a sense that she belonged beyond those borders. But chasing frogs would always be in her heart, and she would always allow her child-like senses to spring to action whenever she spotted one.

Name of cat: Seabreeze
Sex of cat: Tom
Gender of cat: Tom
What types of injury do they help with the best, and why does this cat help?Seabreeze specializes most specifically in treating broken, fractured, and dislocated bones. He learned from a young age the true meaning of healing, when a stranger saved him from the jaws of death. He had been around 7 moons old, and he hadn’t seen that the ground had disappeared in front of him. With a yowl he had tumbled down the steep, rocky slope. With every impact, he felt a new pain in a different place and by the time he reached the bottom, he no longer had feeling anywhere on his entire body. The only action he could perform were eye movements, and he felt a deep feeling of panic set in as darkness began to overtake him. He had a strange dream that night, involving many starry and gorgeous felines. Twelve of them stood in a row in front of them, blinking warmly and twitching their ears in greeting. They informed him of who they were, and who they represented. Each one represented a different energy, and a different personality type. They were all so unique that he couldn’t help but stare without speaking, even after several moments of silence had gone by. They didn’t say much else. But before the dream ended, the twelfth cat stepped forward from the row. She had deep, sea-blue eyes and a beautiful, flowing gray coat. Her voice was smooth, like the calm of a still lake. “Good luck, young one. I have no doubt that we will be seeing you again soon.”
As soon as the words had parted from her lips, he was thrust back into his reality. At once, he remembered what had happened, and he tried to jump to his paws. Surprisingly, the young tom did. But not without a searing pain that affected his entire body, to the point where he had to lay back down on his side to combat it. He was in an unfamiliar place, and it was filled with unfamiliar things. They were inside a den make up of rocky walls and rocky shelves, each one filled with trinkets and herbs. There was a small crack in the wall where water ran down the rock, slowly gathering in a pool below. “How are you feeling?”
A beautiful voice drew his attention to a particularly bright patch on the ground. Light drew in from a hole directly above where this cat was standing. She had white fur, with a black spot on her head and one on her chest. Her ears and her paws were small and delicate, but her body was built broader and stocky. Her eyes were a bright shade of green, and they sparked with compassion and innocence. “You went unconscious after your nasty fall. It took me all afternoon to move you, and then a whole night to realign your bones.”
“Realign?” Seabreeze spoke with a raspy tone, realizing how dry his throat was.
Nothing this, the cat scooped up some water with a rock carved into the shape of a small bowl. She gave it to him gently, stepping back respectfully once she had done so. “Yes. You know, putting all of your bones back into place, splinting your broken ones, and gently fixing your fractured ones. It was nothing really. But you were in the worst shape I’ve ever seen any cat be in before.”
“But how? I mean yes I’m still in some pain, but I thought I’d be paralyzed. My back was in terrible sorts and I couldn’t feel anything.” Seabreeze almost wished he had been awake to see how she had helped so much in so little time.
Almost as if it was a secret, the strange cat stepped closer until she was a whisker away from Seabreeze’s ears. Although she spoke in a normal tone, her voice sounded soft. “I learned from someone that is not with us here in this world. She was a warrior of the heavens, and I was chosen to carry out a very particular task. So I was taught. Every night that I fell asleep, I would receive lessons, and I would practice them whenever I was awake. She focused quite hard on the bones and their placements. She said that I would need to know everything about them for whoever I was meant to save.”
She paused, staring at him with a ghostly gaze, almost appearing to look right through him. “I now understand.”
“Understand?” Seabreeze questioned. Quite honestly, he still didn’t have the answer to his question. He still didn’t fully believe that a cat that was dead could teach a cat that was living.
“You’re the one.” She said, softer than a whisper. “She told me a little bit about who I was supposed to save, and all she said over and over again was ‘Soft and blue, meant to do, the very same things that I have taught you.’ It was stupid to me at first, because it was always done in song and I thought she was just reciting that for fun. But you are soft and blue, and you have wandered into my capable paws.”
Seabreeze’s head had begun to spin, and he felt as though his vision may go black. Perhaps one of the twelve deities he had met was her mentor as well. The one that had taught her to heal. “I am indebted to you for saving my life.” He began. “I will be forever grateful. I would be interested in learning a few things from you, because you have an amazing gift. If someone is willing for me to be a part of something greater, I may just oblige.”
After spending a few days learning from her, he realized how much he enjoyed her and her craft. He decided to stay and honor the wishes of the deities that had visited him, and he stayed with her for many moons before deciding to wander off on his own. He would begin a journey to help others. Others like him, that just needed a stranger to pass by in the nick of time.

Name of cat: Softleap
Sex of cat: Female
Gender of cat: Female
What is their favorite plant or plants, and why?Softleap considers herself no less than a plant expert. She has many favorites, but among her top include butterfly weed, coneflowers, and asters due to their butterfly attraction abilities. The one thing she loves more than plants is butterflies. Although she doesn’t have much knowledge on them, she appreciates their beauty, elegance, and gentle natures. One of her goals is to create and build her own garden, where she can sit and watch creatures of all kinds enjoy her plants. She would stay underneath one of her butterfly bushes, where they could cuddle inside her fur all night long. Granted, she had never seen butterflies do that. The most they would do is land and then take right back off again. She loved those plants for more than just the butterflies, however. Coneflowers are also brightly colored and nicely scented, with some medicinal properties as well. Asters were one of the last flowers to bloom before the leaf-fall season, and their color was always a beautiful blue-violet.
She had acquired her knowledge from an older tom, who had caught her eating and digging plants up from the ground as a kit. The two became fast friends after he sat her down that day to tell her about the importance of plants in their world. “Without plants, the world would have no beauty. We would have no breath. The smaller creatures of this world, no shelter. Every living thing relies on them to survive, but most have become oblivious to it.” He had said to her.
After he had passed six short moons later, she vowed to carry on his respect and his love for the plants and flowers of the world. She would create a garden in his memory, and she’d pay her respects every night, always asking her butterflies to be sure to carry the message up to the heavens.

Name of cat: Smokesky
Sex of cat: Male
Gender of cat: Male
What interesting experience have they had with a not-cat animal?Smokesky was born in a human city, vast and busy. He had his run ins with many things. People, cats, dogs, and even rats. But nothing was stranger than who he came across on a dim, rainy evening in the middle of fall. He had grown up mainly on his own, with few allies and few enemies. He kept to himself and did the most he could to survive, including claiming an entire ally for himself. Not many crossed through it, because many humans talked with one another at night, and no animal wanted to be around for that. But Smokesky didn’t mind. He had many hiding spots and he was perfectly capable of ignoring their jabber.
But on that night, there happened to be no humans around due to the rain. Smokesky was making his usual rounds up and down his ally to either side of the street when he noticed something on the sidewalk directly across the street from his own. Something dark brown and quite a good deal larger than himself. He hadn’t seen these creatures around the city, but he had heard stories about them from when others had roamed outside the borders of the city. It was a horse. But a baby one. Not nearly as big as it’s adult counterpart. Briefly he fought with himself about going up to it, clearly curious as to why it’s in the city but also afraid it could be hostile. He was smart enough to know that it could kill him with one of its hooves, even if it was a baby. Against his better judgment, he crossed the street and approached the spot where it was hiding.
It looked very frightened, and it also seemed to have an injured leg. When he approached, the foal’s eyes went white with fear, and it shrank back so that its entire body was against the wall. “Listen, I just wanna know what you’re doing here and why you’re so far away from home. I can try to help if you like, but ultimately I doubt I’ll be able to do much.” He didn’t sound very sympathetic, but as a street cat he couldn’t afford to me. The foal was still trembling, and it didn’t seem to understand what the tom had said. He should’ve know there’d be a language barrier, especially from such a young thing. “Okay, follow me.” He reassured, trying to have as gentle of a tone as possible. “I know of a place that might be able to help.” The place he was thinking of was an old pet shop just two blocks from where they were. He didn’t know where else someone might be able to help. It was clear that the creature was lost in this city, and it was a real mystery on how it had gotten there.
Carefully, he began leading the foal through the rain, down a semi-busy Street. They stuck to the shadows and he made sure that the tip of his tail was touching the foal at all times to guide it. Once they reached the pet shop, Smokesky began to cry as loudly as he could muster. Most of the humans walking by turned to look, but none of them stopped. From inside, the shadow of a human began to move towards the door, and there was an expression of surprise once he saw the pair. The shop owner was old, and he could hardly open the door with the limited strength he had. Meanwhile, the smoky tom had disappeared completely from view, not wanting to be confused as a lost pet also. He just intended on getting the foal some help so that it could get back home. His job was done and he thought he’d had enough excitement for one day.
