Grimm trots over to you and sets down two large buckets.
"You've come this far, are you prepared for your first task?"
They raise a hoof and the orbs around them transform into a map with a large X over what seems to be a lake.
"Go forth and bring back these buckets full of spring water, you will be unable to fly once you have these buckets on your back so you will make your journey on foot."

Grimm looks down at you. They survey your bucket and nod approvingly.
"you have completed your first task, I suppose you have done an acceptable job, however, it was an easy task. I hope you were not assuming this to be a simple feat. Your next task lies further in the forest."
Grimm once again summons the glowing map and the will'o wisps encirlcle a large clearing deep in the woods, within it apear to be ruins.
"You must fetch me the stone blocks from the ruins, each has a set of glyphs on it. I have counted them out and each of you must bring back three blocks. Once again, no flight. Do you feel you can handle this task?"

As you gather around the large lambicorn in the center of the rubble you notice them muttering as they read the glyphs you've retrived."mmm it seems there are more ingredients than previously thought. Nonetheless...."
Grimm snaps up and stares at you through their mask, you've yet to see them without it. In fact in all the time you've been around you've never seen them without it. You wonder if perhaps there's nothing under it... nah that couldn't be... could it? You tune back in as Grimm is finishing a speech of some sort.
"...will not be easy, however I am certain you will be able to complete the task in a timely fashion. Is that clear?"
You realize you missed the part of the speech about what you were supposed to get. You panic and look around, maybe you can ask your neighbor? As you're fretting Grimm starts speaking again.
"The moonshrooms you seek can only be found deep in the caves by the singing willows. Be warned of the hypnotic call of the Cuttlebeak. Do not allow the soft flashing colors or kind name fool you, the cuttle beak is merciless once it has you within it's grasp."
Thankfully for you Grimm has reitterated your task. Once again the glowing map appears and wisps settle over at the base of a large rock formation.

After your close encounter with the cuttlebeak you're somewhat shaken. You retreat from Grimm's pile of rubble to lay down on the soft ground. You feel tired and worn out from the constant walking and endangerment of these tasks. You ponder what the dream team is up to now. Probably something simpler, you make a note to ask a friend on team
dream later tonight.
As you rest from your gruling tasks Grimm speaks again. Their eyes glow in the darkness of the forest, but it seems more... sinister than it did before. Grimm stands up and menacingly moves forward. You take a step back, they had looked big laying down but now they towered above you.
" I require another ingredient from you. The tasks I assign you are not for fun, there is something greater at stake, I ask you to remember that before you bemoan me."
Grimm pauses to sway their tail, clearly agitated. The wisps around them flicker and swell, glowing a blinding green.
"There is a flower called Aurorae's Heart growing beyond the reaches of this forest. It grows only in the glacial valley of Rosewood. To reach the canyon you must journey west until you see a large tree towering above the others. When you are in line with the tree you must charge at full speed into the tree."
You wonder if Grimm is playing a joke and snicker a bit.
"Do you find this funny?" You find yourself looking straight at the massive glowing hoof of your leader. Grimm's eyes are blazing now, something has clearly made them on edge and your snickers haven't helped. Grimm sighs and continues their pacing.
"GO. DO NOT RETURN UNLESS YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME THE FLOWER. And ONLY. PICK. ONE. There are those in this world who seek the flower's power for their own selfish gains, tell no one and leave plenty behind to regrow."

As you return to Grimm and their pile of rubble, you notice there are more wisps than usual. The entire bog is flashing violently with a sickly green light, each wisp having morphed from cyan blue to the radioactive neons you see before you. Grimm is turned away from you, bathed in a glowing green light. You notice the skull that usually adorns their head is sitting on the ground, the shell of a creature lost to time. Suddenly the glowing fades, the wisps return to their normal blues and Grimm’s mask floats back onto their head. They turn to face you and you get the feeling you shouldn’t ask what happened.
“I fear our activities have become more… noticeable. While I do not intend to move from this bog, I feel extra measures must be taken,” they growl. You quickly sit down in front of them awaiting your next task.
“Today I am sending you to retrieve a crystal from the Cave of eyes. When you reach the cave the crystals will not be hard to find, however there is only one type I require today. Bring me an oval crystal, near the size of a melon. This is the smallest of the gems, and quite possibly the only size you can carry.”
Grimm doesn’t summon their map, the wisps form a blinking line pointing north east.
“This task must be completed quickly, I fear we have attracted far too much attention already.”
You ponder Grimm’s use of the word ‘we’ they had never spoken of the team as a collective, but at the moment you’re certain that now isn’t a good time to ask.

After a long day of walking and carrying crystals on your back you fall into an easy sleep. The dream seems normal, but you quickly realize something is amiss. The sky morphs between neon hues every few seconds, though that isn’t even the strangest thing about it, it would seem the sky is below you and you are walking upside down. Pieces of the ground crumble and fall around you, disappearing into the violent sky. As you keep walking you see eyes floating, a tea set pouring water out of a hare, a rabbit and a man with a hat. The sun and moon constantly switch from being present to entirely disappearing. Finally you come to the center of this strange world to see a familiar lambicorn elder. You stare into the yellow eyes of Lambent and you notice that they match perfectly with the crystals in the cave you retrieved yesterday.
“I grow tired of them hurting each other. They know not what they seek, they know only what they have been led to believe from petty rumors and their own self doubt.”
Lambent pauses, you note for the first time that Lambent is bigger than Nai’a or Grimm, and up close, the rocks that form their skin shift with the lava underneath.
“If you tire of this ceasless war as I do, perhaps you will join me in a bit of respite. Today I ask only that you make the journey to 'Dawn’s edge' to meet with me. I would allow you to stay here and explain more but my dreams are far from stable, and the longer you remain here the more likely you are to loose your sanity.”
A plume of purple smoke fills the dream and you wake up coughing. When you look down you see you are coughing out the same purple smoke. Lambent was right, their dreams were dangerous.
You also find a small map tucked between your paws, and through various neon scribbles and 80s slang you are able to make out how to reach this ‘Dawn’s Edge'

Grimm seems to be feeling better as they're standing up again when you enter the bog. "Today I hope to bring you a welcome change of pace. For today's task I want you to journey to the beach and collect five of the blue frecklefruits that grow along the tide pools. You will know them by their glowing specks, hence the name Frecklefruit." They pause and a lambicorn from the crowd steps up to ask a question "What about the other colors of fruit? I swear I've seen some pink ones. Oh no, are they toxic?" Grimm pauses before responding with a chuckle, "No they are not toxic, they are simply not right for the purpouse I need them for. They are extremely sour and are used in your favorite sour sweets." Grimm shoos you all off to find the fruits, and maybe you can enjoy yourself at the beach and destress.
