spacerA wave of relief swept over Cherrypaw at Stormheart's confirmation-- it wasn't just him, and there really wasn't much prey around. However, the feeling was soon replaced with roaring anticipation as his eyes landed on the squirrel. Taking a surge of confidence from his mentor's encouraging smile, he crouched down and began pulling his body towards the prey with silent pawsteps. When he felt he was close enough, the apprentice tensed his muscles, preparing to leap. Judge the distance, he told himself, echoing the advice he had received on his last catch. With a hefty but not too aggressive push-off, Cherrypaw leaped into the air, landing just a hair too short. Mouse-dung! He cursed, as he felt the squirrel's fur slip through his claws, and he took a futile second jump in desperation. Sighing in frustration, he lifted his head and met Stormheart's gaze with a small pout.

spacerKestreldawn's tail swished around, evidence of the worries she shared with her apprentice, and really, the rest of the clan. With each hypothetical statement by Drizzlepaw, her chest clenched tighter, and she looked down at her prey with distaste. Now I don't feel like eating, she thought dryly to herself, placing her head on her paws and releasing a deep breath. It was truly frustrating to only have the ability to wait, and the warrior wrinkled her nose in restlessness. All she could do was make empty promises and 'it'll be fine' statements. Even if they were unfounded and even if Kestreldawn had absolutely no idea what the future would hold, those words seemed like the only thing she could think of saying. "I'm worried too, Drizzlepaw. But, that patrol had a ton of cats, and I'm sure they can handle a fox or two," Kestreldawn finally replied. At least I hope they can, she added in her head.

Peachkit had been sleeping a bit and was now ready to play. “Mom I’m gonna go play with the others. Love you!” Peachkit mewed before nuzzling Pearfluff. She smiled and padded out to join her siblings. She wondered what they were doing. Either way she couldn’t wait to play.

She looked over to the Snowfoot which were there playing with some of the Pearfluff's kits, sighing she pushed the left bones of the prey side, giving a lick to her paws. She didn't really know what kind of relationship Snowfoot and Pearfluff had as the tom seemed to act like a father to her kits, which was good. She always found it weird how the father's die either before the kits births or very soon after it, maybe that's the curse of being a queen.

She watched the Brackenstar's patrol running out her eyes looked over at Aspenpaw, walking to her "Sorry Aspenpaw, we're doing some practicing today, but as you've noticed there seem to be some problems at our territory so we better stay here for a while, before leaving..." she meowed to her "Is that alright with you?" she asked her.

He holds his claws and fangs to the mother's pelt as long as he could, but eventually, the movements made him lose his stake, so he got away from the fox and almost got hit by its front paw, which come toward him. He was going to further away to get another attack when someone pushed him down to the ground, feeling how the breath got out of him for the sudden hit. He didn't get what happened at first, but then he looked up and saw how the fox was pinning him down by his front paw, ready to bite his head to kill him, but luckily it seemed to be very busy with the other cats, which took him some time to think.

He nodded to his mentor and dot away from them, half running toward the fresh-kill pile to pick something small to eat, finding a shrew there and picked it out. His eyes peeked around the camp as he took his first bite, the camp seemed calm, but he could feel the high nervous tension or confusion in there.

Splashpaw finally noticed that Willowpaw was awake and gave a soft wine in the bake of his throat. As she licked the herbs he gave a soft laugh "The herbs you'll be eaten over the next moon will be just as bad." He walked toward her head placing his forehead against hers with his eyes closed "You scared me.... don't do it again!" He playfully nipped at the she-cats ear softly.

He gave a soft sigh "I need to give you a little bit before I can give you poppy seeds to make sure the shock wears off. You have a pretty bad gash on your shoulder, but the worse is your leg. You are lucky it was not completely broken just a bad fracture. It should heal within a moon, but I can't tell you yet if you will walk normally on it yet." He gave the other cat a soft look frowning softly.

Gorsebriar noticed the hesitation of her apprentice and smiled softly knowing she did the right thing to let her lead. She halted one paw in the air as Ivypaws ears perked and followed the apprentices eyes. Unable to see what the other saw Gorsebriar tilted her head slightly. Gorsebriar crouched down slightly finally spotting the prey staying still as Ivypaw effortlessly moved forward without her having to say a thing. This brought a small smile to her lips as she watched her apprentices take down the small vole "Well done Ivypaw. It seems being small has it's advantages I could not spot that prey." She lifted her head to take in the smells she was unable to catch anything else. She huffed and turned to Ivypaw "Bury that than we will continue a little farther." Gorsebriar waited just a moment before trotting on her fur on end in the new forest and still moving away from the camp.

Owlkit could feel the tenseness in camp and it made his fur on edge. The kit though was quickly distracted when he felt Snowfoot move about again. He gave a small little angry noise which made him release the large toms ears from his tiny teeth. He fell onto his back in the dirt with a soft huff as it knocked the wind out of him. He then proceeded to sneeze as the dust settled on his nose.

She suddenly remembers the fish she was eating earlier that she left without finishing it, so she pads over to where she was previously and found the fish exactly where she left it. She lays down and continues to eat it, savoring the delicious taste.

L e a f p o u n c e let out a hiss as Skarr moved, leaving only his tail caught in her claws. He jerked it away from her, though, leaving her with only scraps of his fur on her claws. And just like that the tom retaliated, launching himself at her. She jerked backwards and pulled her paw up to try and strike, but she wasn’t quick enough - his claws met her foreleg. Not bad, she thought, though she knew she couldn’t keep this up forever. She was already breathing hard, and her foreleg stung like a million bee stings. She had no intention of killing the tom, of course; that wasn't the way of a warrior. Leafpounce realized, though, that she may have just gotten herself into a fight that was life or death.

T h e Siamese mix’s fur bristled as he bounded along after the patrol. Finally they came to the bloody scene - there were warriors and foxes alike fighting for their lives. Turtlemask hadn’t seen fox kits before, but these cat-sized cubs were going to be just as dangerous as their mother, it seemed. Turtlemask let out a wailing battle cry and leaped into the fray. It was Emberglow he saw first. The Clan’s deputy was lying on the ground, body bloodied and wounded. Brackenstar was busy driving a fox away from her, so Turtlemask went straight to her side. “How bad is it?” The warrior asked the deputy, before gripping her scruff with his teeth. He began to drag her away from the fight.

Satisfied he had sliced her foreleg successfully, he whirled around to meet her again. His tail flicked, a few tiny patches of fur lost and the rest that had been torn remained thinned fur, not his usual thick fur. He growled, looking at her wound for a moment, before looking back up at her. He didnt attempt to attack, just stood there, waiting. Seems like Im winning so far. He thought to himself with a flick of his flattened ears.

Mapleheart assessed Feathercloud's wounds from the outside. Nothing looks life-threatening." "I'm sure she will, Wolfpaw. Nothing looks to be life-threatening." He looked up to the others fighting the foxes, gently curling his feathery tail around his adoptive sister's flank. Thankfully Feathercloud's wounds weren't bleeding much and Mapleheart didn't have to risk Wolfpaw's life trying to find stuff to stop it.

The white tabby laid her head on her paws, her amber eyes filled with grief. I just can't let this grief get to me. I still have Briarkit and Smokekit to take care of. She took a moment to pull the kits closer. It looked as if she was trying to suffocate them in her fur but she wasn't. Ashcloud was being wary and looked ready to crack if she did something wrong.
