Emberglow's eyes glittered with shock as Feathercloud and Wolfpaw showed up.
She wondered if this was all Brackenstar could muster for backup but dismissed the thought. Surely, there were more able-bodied cats in the camp. Plus, they hadn't even come from the direction of their camp anyway. She crouched on the ground, catching her breath after being swatted away like a mouse. She watched as Feathercloud entered the fray and stiffened as small yips sounded from nearby. Turning, she let out a yowl of surprise as a small body, roughly her size, barreled into her, it's teeth digging shallowly into her foreleg. Emberglow snarled as she realized it was a fox cub; almost fully grown, but a novice in battle. She raked her claws down the fox cub's flanks and twisted away from it as it yelped in pain. She bared her teeth at the cub, fur bristling as she noticed a second, slightly larger cub stalking toward Wolfpaw. "Wolfpaw! Right behind you!" She tried to run tot he apprentice, but the cub pounced on her and landed on her back. Her wounded shoulder buckled underneath her, unable to carry both her and the fox on her back and she fell to the ground with a shriek

Drizzlepaw padded into the camp after Kestraldawn, eyes wide and pelt bristling.
Even before he'd entered he could tell something was wrong. The stench of blood and the faint scent of fox gave it away and the further into the camp he walked, the more worried he felt. He could smell Willowpaw...and Mothfern and Mallowtail were back. Where was the rest of the patrol though? He followed Kestraldawn to the medicine cat dawn to drop of the herbs and noticed Willowpaw, bloody and unconscious. His heart stammered for a moment at the sight of his bleeding friend and he paused jaws agape. As his mentor told him to give Splashpaw some space to work. He nodded dumbly and padded out of the den. Drizzlepaw glanced at the fresh-kill pile, but he wasn't hungry. He was too worried to eat. Would Willowpaw die? what happened to his other clanmates on the patrol? And how had Ashcloud's kitting gone? Argh! Too much was happening at once!

Cricketkit tilted his head, watching curiously as Mallowtail, Mothfern, and Willowpaw returned from their patrol.
Where were Mapleheart and Emberglow? They were supposed to be with them too, weren't they? And they were hurt! Did they get attacked? He glanced at Sedgethroat, confused, and got up to follow her. "It's okay...is there trouble?" He trotted along with his family, eyes darting around in a mixture between fear and curiosity. Laburnumkit didn't seem as worried as he was...probably because she didn't notice the injured cats. Well...he should mind his own business and just do as Sedgethroat says. If he got too curious and wandered off, he could get into some serious trouble.

Peppermint felt the fur along her spine rise at the subtle threat.
Thicketclan eh? she'd never heard of such a thing before. She'd definitely not noticed crossing any borders. But, she supposed it was possible she'd accidentally crossed one the night before. It was rather late, and she, rather tired, had settled down in the safest place she could find. Flicking her tail at the inconvenience of the situation, Peppermint stared at the strange cats. Why couldn't everyone just learn to get along and be civil? These so-called 'Thicketclan' cats were willing to fight? Over what? Some stretch of forest? How silly. Nonetheless, she respected their wishes and...odd culture and shallowly dipped her head. "My apologies. I didn't realize when I came here that someone already lived here." She looked around, eyes glimmering curiously, "Odd...this is a lot of space for two cats." She meowed. It wasn't unheard of, back in the city, for a small group of cats to hoard territory though. She simply hadn't expected it out here, where there was plenty of land.
