Piperpaw's nose twitched, its sensitivity picking up an unfamiliar scent. She hesitated to move forwards for a moment, and looked around, peering in the bushes suspiciously. After a few heartbeats, she shrugged it off, deciding it was nothing. She ducked underneath a log and slowed down, the smile returning to her face. "Here we are! This is where I always come to get the moss. I took a lot of it already, but there'd enough to replenish your nests!" The apprentice said with a nod, crouching down to let the kits off her back.

Toadpool was just about to sit when his name was called. He groaned, but got back up and trotted over. Darkenecho had called two others, Cherryfang and Hawkfire, so Toadpool trotted over to get ready. Piperpaw was probably still getting bedding and playing with kits, so she could miss out on one patrol. Hopefully she wouldn't get into any trouble while he was gone. He turned towards Darkenedecho with a small nod. "Piperpaw won't come this time, she is cleaning out dens right now." The apprentice might get mad at him, but she could learn to not expect to do everything. Besides, she was probably playing with kits or listening to queen's stories instead of working.

Dewkit got off Piperpaw then went to randomly sniff the moss.

“Frwesh moss!” He squealed happily unaware of the other sent in the air

Every single sense in Piperpaw's body was tingling with uncertain anticipation. She narrowed her eyes and swung her head around once again, scanning the bushes. A tiny, barely audible growl rumbled in her throat as she stood back on her paws. It pained her not to be able to wander off and investigate, but.. she had a job to finish. With a hearty sigh, the apprentice turned her focus to the kits and the mossy log. "Okay! We're here to collect moss. Want me to show you how?" She chirped, her voice bubbly as ever.

The fox came a little closer again like it was about to strike but it wasn’t yet. It licked its lips again.

Piperpaw crouched next to the log, her ears pricked back as she lingered on her previous suspicion. Either something wasn't right, or it was just her. She decided to go with the latter. "Alright. It's pretty easy, actually, but you gotta be careful. Pick out a kinda loose piece- here, like this one- lay your claw underneath the flap, and whoosh-" The apprentice swiftly slid her claw underneath the moss, and popped it right off in a small patch. "-Just like that. Of course, it'll take a little to get the technique right, and preferably not bring half of the tree's bark back with the lichen." Piperpaw noted, sweeping her piece aside, She pointed to another small moss patch, gently ruffling her whiskers. "Go ahead and try on that one!"

He waited near the entrance flicking his tail as he looked to the two toms hearing his order about border patrol, but he didn't see Cherryfang, he was pretty sure he did see her, but not anymore 'I guess she is not coming then?' he wondered by himself "It seems that Cherryfang is not coming so it will be only three of us then" he called out looking over at Toadpool and Hawkfire.

He silently looked at the camp and waited for his apprentice to show up, noticing the Piperpaw getting out with the kits, which surprised him ' what she is doing? that's not a great plan to do?' he thought for a moment. His instincts called him to follow them, Piperpaw was still an apprentice she could not protect the kits if something happens, carefully he left the camp following the path the three younger cats were taking at "Piperpaw? What are you doing with the kits?" he asked silently.

She was going to answer to Hollyspring before heard their names being called by Shatteredcall "O well that got fast" she meowed to the young she-cat, then starting to make her way to the little bit older warrior, nit really saying anything as she was already gone to take her apprentice.

She eyed the other queen when she let her kits to go with the apprentice "are you sure, that's safe?" she meowed to her when Piperpaw and the kits were gone out of the nursery "I mean Piperpaw is still an apprentice, could they ask a warrior to go with them?" she meowed to her. Her ears flicked the entrance of the nursery, scenting a fresh scent of her mate there "Hawkfire? what is it?" she asked at him.

Piperpaw flinched as she heard a quiet voice speak up behind her. She turned around, and offered a smile that was uncannily innocent. "Hi, Berryfang. I was just showing Dewkit and Maplekit how to peel moss away from logs!" The apprentice chirped, blinking at the warrior. "I got permission from Juniperpelt, see.." Piperpaw added, wrapping her tail around her hind leg.

Hollyspring offered a nod in agreement as they approached the camp's entrance. "Morning, Icefur." She greeted with a grin, flicking her ear as she gingerly sat down. The she-warrior turned her gaze towards the inner circle of camp with mild interest, absentmindedly rolling a pebble around with her toes as she waited for Shatteredcall to return.

Shatteredcall swiftly came up to the apprentice den and narrowed her eyes as she slowed to a halt. She stuck her head into the den and wrinkled the bridge of her nose as her pupils adjusted to the significantly dimmer light. "Acornpaw!" She huffed loudly, not caring at all if the other apprentices were disturbed.
