"of course." she glanced around the camp, but aspenfang seemed to be the only other warrior awake. she padded over to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a small mouse before adressing aspenfang. "would you care to join hornetstripe, wigeonpaw, and i on a patrol? hornetstripe wants to take wigeonpaw training." after careful consideration, she decided not to mention sleekwhisker's possible disappearance. no point getting her clanmates riled up and allowing rumors to spread, especially if it ended up not being a big deal.

Aspenfang was just swallow her last few bites of breakfast when she heard approaching pawsteps, followed by soft rustling as a clanmate picked through the prey pile and selected their meal. Her green eyes darted up for a moment, acknowledging the presence of the cat who she identified as Dragonfang, before her focus returned on the final scraps of her own mouse. Just as Aspenfang straightened up, licking her lips in satisfaction with her first meal of the day, Dragonfang spoke to her, presenting a request for more paws on a morning patrol.
"Yeah. Sure. I'll bring Ploverpaw as well."
As always, Aspenfang spoke with her characteristic bluntness, skipping all pleasantries and getting right to the point.
"Might have to wake him up..."
Her gaze shifted towards the apprentices' den, which had shown a distinct lack of activity so far. A hint of irritation, displayed in slightly narrowed eyes, betrayed Aspenfang's feelings about her apprentice's absence. It would have been much more efficient for everyone if Ploverpaw was awake and ready for the patrol, but that could soon be fixed.

Stretching, she blinked her eyes open. The bright fur of Crane's was nowhere to be found, so she lifted her head and continued her stretch while laying. Getting up, she stepped out and breathed in the fresh air. Noticing Cranekit with Wolfpaw, she was sure that Crane wouldn't get into any trouble and began to groom herself by the nursery entrance. She watched the patrol gather itself together as she kept another eye on Crane.
