Lana Obuscus is the eldest child of the Obuscus family, who currently lead the Reimann house. Along with the Sellibum house, these two houses are the two most powerful in the land. Lana's younger sister and only sibling was taken by witch hunters when she was young, teaching Lana that powerful witches are often in more danger than others. For as long as she can remember Lana was training to be the most powerful witch in the land. Her mother and father homeschooled her, although her mother was often busy leading the house. Her family is extremely rich, and they live in a mansion in Spokane Washington for most of the year, but also live in a Seattle penthouse for other parts. It was in the big city where she met her best friend Mateo Verona, and they go to Moonbrooke Academy together. All her life she's been very close to most of the other heirs. One was Lilith Foxxe of Swiftwood house. The pair gets along most of the time, but tensions rise, especially when Lilith kissed her arch nemesis, Dane Sellibum. Their families hate each other, therefore the two heirs hate each other. Although Lana isn't quite sure why, they haven't ever done anything to harm one another, and Dane can actually be fun to hang out with when he's not unbearably annoying.

Lana is extremely hot headed, she can't stand not being in control of a situation and when others get in her way. Her biggest pet peeve is when people walk away from her while she is trying to have a conversation. On the outside Lana may seem like the stereotypical popular girl, but really she is much more than that. She always feels like so much is expected of her, and it is, but she feels like she has to be perfect all the time. She also feels like her friends expect her to the opposite of perfect at times, always messing up and making the wrong choices. Most people wouldn't expect Lana to be smart, but she's one of the smartest in the class, and isn't that worried about her rank changing after the exams. Lana likes to have fun, and isn't afraid to break the rules. However some of her classmates can't stand her. She's only mean to you if you're mean to her first, and she supports the idea that power is based on house standings and birthrights, not by chance. Knowing that her parents wanted her to be a lawyer, she told them that she was at debate when really she was at dance. When her parents went to a debate meet and didn't see Paige, they were so mad that they forbade her from dancing. They told her that if she wanted to have a dancing career she would get injured and then have no way of making any money. However Paige persisted, and after she graduated highschool she moved away to start a dancing career, but could barely find any work. history: As a girl, Topaz really only got to hang out with the others in the gated community.
She was nerdy and free, never having a filter and always being herself. However, as she
grew up she felt like she needed to be someone else, and became a hardened girl of stone
and jewels. She soon left her friends and moved to a more popular crowd. Now she's the
most popular, even though she's not as happy as she thought she'd she be. Last year, Topaz
was extremely troubled. She wrecked the corvette that her parents bought her for her birthday,
and after the wreck her parents bought her a new one. Although many people have rumored
Topaz wrecked it on purpose. After that, she shop lifted an extremely expensive handbag.

personality: velvet is very sophisticated, hailing from the luxury district she has always had a lavish lifestyle. she looks down on some of the tributes from the poorer districts but doesn't mind some of the others. velvet prides herself in her victory and has become very popular in the capitol. velvet is very civil, never raising her voice and always treating people with formality, even if they are from one of the lower districts. however, in the arena, velvet is less formal, and can quickly take the upper hand in a battle. her speed and quick agility makes her a hard foe to fight, as well as her ability to get inside her foe's mind.
history: velvet trained as a career tribute her entire life. she volunteered for the games at 18 along with her friend tiber. it was clear from the beginning that velvet and tiber would be the clear favorites for the games, along with the district 2 boy slate. the trio allied, also taking in the female tribute from four named krenna. The games went quickly, and there weren't many tributes left after the bloodbath. however the games became interesting when slate got bit by a rabid mutt, and began to attack any tribute in sight. krenna of four was killed by him, as well as two other tributes before velvet struck the district 2 boy down. when she met back up with tiber, he showed her that slate had bitten him, and that velvet needed to kill him before he went rabid. so that is what the career girl did, after that, picking off the rest of the weak arena was easy, and velvet returned home a proud victor. now she lives in her grand victor's village mansion alone, although there are plenty of other victors who are her neighbors. she is very popular in the capitol, and every year she guides young tributes on the best strategies for the games. velvet was horrified when the fourth quarter quell was announced. even though there was a decent victor pool to choose from, velvet was reaped to represent district one. even though she didn't volunteer this time, she still plans to act as a career, being as she didn't stop her training after she won.
