Dog, and she's a mongrel, although she has the vague appearance of a somewhat malformed border collie...

Well...*
For the most part, Tag acts like a puppy. She is very niave and generally doesn’t grasp new things very well. A bit short of IQ, should I say, but still very likeable. She is submissive and often ends up being the loser in a fight.
She is also a character in a post-apocalyptic word I created.
In this world, a desease crept in many years back and infected all animals (including humans, who picked it up from the other animals) showing signs of internal rot and decay (the black patches on her body.)
More infected animals have black eyes.
Bone also sticks out of her skull, another sign of the mutation.
As she was born into a destroyed fictional city, the reason for her collar is unknown.
Humans hide out and shoot dogs on sight.
The more black patches a dog or other animal has, the more contagious they are. Tag is reasonably unscathed compared to the much larger packs that roam the city. They are huge hulking dogs that have been completely infected; they have spikes all over their body and huge quantaties of ‘black markings’ aka, internal infection.
Tag is likely to die one way or the other as her small body hasn’t adapted to holding the disease at bay. For this, she is an outcast, living in a small stone mortuary in a cematary. The infection causes dogs to be very violent and vicious. Seeing as Tag has not fully mutated, which is a type of new mutation in its self, she only has vague episodes and outburts.
